We came after touring the area and was just in time for evening lights. This place is more special at night as 1) it's a bit cooler, and 2) the views are nicer with city lights on. Bonus was I got to see a tropical electrical storm way off in the distance, so the sky would sporadically glow from time to time. Lots of seating and many tables can seat for parties of 8+. Tables on the edge seem to be reserved for those unobstructed views, so call those in if you want those for a special night. Seems like a popular special occasions place rightfully so. We heard about 3 happy birthday songs being sung to tables in just our short 1 hour dinner out. Braised Vegetables and Tofu in Gochujang Rice (P470/3.5*) Upon arrival this looked like a Korean Bibimbop with claypot, toppings on rice with a fried egg. The rice was mild, a bit sticky/wet and no crisping on the bottom. So the clay pot is just a serving vessel, and not so much a cooking vessel. Big cubes of tofu, some baby greens like bok choy and maybe a few others I can't recall. But we ordered this just to breakup the other 2 meat centered dishes. Bagnet with Pinakbet (P640/4.5*). Huge portion as many Filipino dishes are meant to be eaten family style. 6 of us split 3 dishes and it served us for a pleasant light dinner. Bagnet is just another name for lechon kawali which is fried and crisp pork belly. The pork was indeed crisp but also a little on the dry side. Well seasoned though and they gave out like 2 sauces for dipping, a bold mustard (maybe for non-Asian tourist and another which seemed like a homemade version of Mang Tomas. It was lighter with more finesse. I think the chefs here are a bit more refined than say a regular restaurant. Served with Pinakbet which is a hearty vegetable stew with eggplant, okra, kabocha squash and bittermellon braised in a strong garlic and shrimp paste sauce. Their version is served more dry and crisp versus soft and soupy. I loved how every vegetable was al dente and vibrant and the sauce was almost fried onto the vegetables much like XO sauce dishes. Superb Pinakbet. Beef Kare Kare (P700/5*) Extremely solid and comforting Thickish peanut sauce that was savory and not too oily. Good peanut flavor and not just from a packet which the majority of restaurants use in the US which I can't stand. Super tender oxtails which I never see anymore in the US and super tender strips of tripe which totally absorbs into that glorious sauce. And their shrimp paste fry condiment just made every bite explode in satisfaction. I haven't had a good version of this from the US in over a decade. Had to go the motherland to reunite with a good one. #worthit A couple of San Miguel Pilsners and I was golden sitting atop Manila Bay after a very well done meal served in a slightly more elevated manner. The food and coffee is really bland. The dullness of the menu is compensated by the efficient service of the staff. There is no amenity like pool but guests can spend the day discovering Manila through a Kalesa Tour. It goes around the historical sites and prime Churches in Intramuros. The function hall can be recommended for conventions and events. There is an ample parking space at the basement. This hotel is also ideal for business travelers since nearby universities and offices can be easily accessible through taxi, uber, or public transportation.

They have lodging, a private beach, 3 swimming pools, 2 tree-houses separated by a rope bridge, a turtle conservation area, and a great staff. PROS: This beach club is pretty exclusive for members only. The beach has very clean white sands and the water is warm and clear. There are huts you can rent out so you can stay under a roof when it gets too hot. The sunsets are gorgeous, so stick around if you can! The staff is pretty knowledgable and friendly. CONS: I never wanted to leave. Overall, I'm glad I still get to visit this beach club because it's beautiful and we always have a good time there.

Might I say, it was well worth the money. If you choose this resort, be prepared to watch your email after booking your reservation. They will ask for details such as when your flight arrives so you can arrange to have them pick you up (free if you arrive before 4pm and can catch one of the designated boat times, and extra if you arrive later in the day). They will also allow you to arrange "outings" if you so please. We were about 2 hours delayed in arriving to the Davao airport but felt safe from the moment we arrived. A woman holding a Pearl Farm Beach Resort sign escorted us to a huge van, which took us to the dock to get to Samal Island. It is about a 20 minute boat ride which you should be prepared to get wet for. When we arrived at the resort, we were greeted by several hostesses and escorted to our rooms. Room service operates 24/7 so we were able to eat a much needed quality meal after being delayed in travel. There wasn't any moment we felt clueless or in poor company getting to the resort itself. The beds were roomy and comfortable. The king room actually had a cot included, so you could bring a third wheel with your party, haha. Rooms were very clean, towels and toiletries were provided, and there was a safe with a key (no electronic key pad). No complaints on supplies or amenities. Once you wake up to the calm views of the beach, you will feel like you're in paradise. We went to the resort in April when the weather was absolutely stunning. Not too hot, not too humid. Waters were clear and calm. The "feel" of the resort is one of quietude. This is not the type of resort you go to "party." This is the kind of place you go to for relaxation and rest, not for loud noises and rambunctiousness. There's an infinity pool and several beach spots, including a private island you can boat to at any time of the day. My fiance swam out about 100 meters from the main beach and was able to find some huge starfish and giant clams. You can also arrange to partake in some water sports. I believe they have kayaking, scuba diving, snorkling, paddleboarding, and flyboarding. The one complaint I have about this resort is the fact that the food was not included. Unfortunately, you have to pay for each meal and drink. There is nowhere local to venture outside of the resort, so you don't have any other options besides to feast at the Pearl Farm Resort. Don't get me wrong, the food they have is splendid. But this should factor into your cost considerations for the trip. I highly recommend this resort for a splendid, rejuvenating getaway from city life. You really only need to be there a few days to experience the benefits from the calmness of this resort, so if the price seems too much, consider a 3 day trip.

Upon arriving at minoloc, Angel signed us up for activities throughout our stay. Another guide was Teng who did an excellent job of touring us to snake island and the caves. I've travelled to so many European and Caribbean get aways but palawan, especially El Nido, has made it to the top of my list of places to see!!
