JMK Miami Contractor is simply an outstanding company. I bought a house in Coral Gables and…read moreimmediately started working on my plan to build an addition on my 8000 square feet property. The plan was to convert my 3 bedroom to a 4 bedroom home. I'm so thankful for finding JMK. Prior to contracting them, I literally vetted 15+ contractors, automatically eliminating the ones that didn't show up to appointments. Then asked for references. With the references, I conducted an in person interview. Jess and Mehdi are extremely professional and personable. Their pricing is reasonable too. Most importantly I knew they'd deliver on the job. Although the city of Coral Gables has a complicated permitting process, JMK navigated that process smoothly and completed the addition without a single change order and in time. We're so happy about the end product and the finish. @JMK, I look forward to our next project. I have good plans ahead!

In mid-2023, we hired JMK Construction (the contractor) to perform structural repairs, painting,…read morebalcony waterproofing, and railing replacement. The balconies were waterproofed but not leveled as requested by the Board of Directors, and when it rains, large puddles of water accumulate throughout the whole balcony floor. When the board of directors brought this to the attention of JMK Construction, they said leveling the floor of the balconies was not included in the over $16,000 paid. New railings did not have proper screw holes made for cone head shaped screws. Half of railings boots do not fit. In December 2024, the railings failed inspection. At the end of March 2025 the Board informed Lanyon Heinemann, the responsible party at JMK Construction that if by May 1st the issues with the railings were not resolved, complaints would be filed against the licenses of JMK Construction and Construction Integrated Services, and that the board of directors would seek legal action against JMK Construction, who holds the signed contract with the board of directors. As of May 8th, 2025, well over a month after, the railings situation has not been resolved. The board contacted the City of Miami building department on 5/5/25 and was informed that the pending revisions have been approved since 4/17/25 and that a payment is due from the contractor and that the City of Miami building department notified the contractor via e-mail. More days have passed, and no one from JMK construction has checked on this issue, after so many complaints about the extreme delay of this job. The owners and board of directors of The Blue Condominium Association feel defrauded, abused, and ignored mainly by JMK Construction who holds the signed contract with the building for all the repairs, and also by Construction Integrated Services, a company with horrible reputation, who has repeatedly lied to and ignored messages from the board of directors.

It's been a year and a half since Rob Vallejo and Alligator Construction finished remodeling my…read morehome, and I'm still singing their praises. That's no small commentary in a town where contractors can be flighty, unscrupulous and untrustworthy. Rob and his crew were the model of what you want in a contractor. Mine was not a small job, either. They took an 1950s Florida ranch in Flagami and opened it up into a modern space, exactly as I'd imagined it. Their work was on schedule, professional and they stayed within my budget. When something unexpected came up, Rob was honest with the assessment and cost, and he stuck to it, even when it ate into his profit. His right hand man, Mike Montilla, was on-site every day work was being done. And even a year and a half later, when I had an issue with my original floors (which they restored), he found the right wood floor subcontractor who did expert work. Just look at the pictures. The guys worked magic.

It's been a few years since my home was completed and Rob is still my go-to guy whenever we need something construction related. Big thanks to Alligator Construction for being a stand up company

Electrician Joseph came and removed the meter, saying he'd pick up a part from his office and…read morereinstall the meter that afternoon. He knew people were moving in the next day and that time was of the essence, and I took him at his word. The plan was he'd submit a repair request through the home warranty company and be back in a month to finalize the work. Two days later on a Friday we discovered he'd abandoned the job and never returned or replaced the meter. He refused to finish the work or even come back to the property because he took the day off. His office was similarly lackadaisical, saying they'd only send someone back if we paid out of pocket! It turns out this was all about trying to squeeze more money out of us in a very blatant and heavy handed way. The behavior of the tech and the business was unprofessional at best and grossly negligent at worst. People and entities like this give South Florida a bad name. Buyer Beware, this is not a company that can be trusted to do the work as promised nor to keep its customers informed. Now that I reflect on the experience I'm almost glad they didn't do the promised repair because I'd never be able to trust the quality of their work. "When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time." In retrospect I believe we're better off without them having finished the job. Caveat Emptor.
