I have just completed my 4th visit to this totally awesome bed and breakfast at Lake Caroline…read moreVirginia. I booked my stay in the New York Suite 8 months in advance, and was so pleased to be welcome back as a VIP platinum guest. I had a lovely custom tailored gift basket awaiting me on my very comfortable bed upon arrival. The activities provided included, but were not limited to, a pontoon boat with its own captain as well as a naturalist on board to provide commentary on the local flora and fauna. How magical it was to see 2 blue heron's as well as geese and Hawks! And Hudson the labradoodle is no longer a pup. He is a charmingly well behaved two-year-old dog! Our dining options were simply delicious! Whether it was homemade breakfast with biscuits or an afternoon barbecue while watching the Redskins football game, it was all topped off with Smore's at the fire pit with a view of the lake at sunset. I cannot wait to return to this little slice of heaven in Lake Caroline Virginia!

I highly recommend the bottle service, it's truly top shelf. The groundskeeper Hudson was a perfect gentleman and excellent companion when splashing in pools or barking along during sing-along-song-time. I highly recommend Keys Cove Lake house as a premium location when staying at Lake Caroline. I'm looking forward to my next chance to get away and relax here again. -Evelyn Keys

It was the most affordable compared to other venues, most beautiful, and we have the luxury of staying the weekend and relaxing with our family! The house is amazing, and the soy crops outside mixed with the trees really sold it for us. Not only did we love the venue, but we also felt warm and welcomed by Annmarie. Since the moment we booked she has been a great communicator and we feel like she is really listening to our needs. Not the "corporate" feel if you will. We also did our save the dates at the venue with their photographer! They turned out AMAZING! It was so fun and taking pictures with the horses really made them feel so much more magical. We are booked for May and I could not be more excited! Also just to add- they had so many options to help with vendors, which helped us pick our caterer! It's so much less stress than I imagined because they are SO helpful! I am so excited about our wedding and could not recommend this venue enough!

Our room was nicely appointed and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was a nice size with good water pressure. They do not cook a full breakfast in the mornings but there were bagles cream, cheese, other pastries, coffee, tea, and juice for us in the morning. We never ran into the owner until just before leaving on the second day, but felt at home the whole time. We will definitly be back again the next time we are in the area, it is definitley a home away from home kind of place and was a great value for quality of accomodations. The only downfall is that it is cash or check only...no cc travel points for me on this stay.

First off, every interaction from booking to check out was full of kindness and going above and beyond. When the owners found out we were celebrating a birthday, T excitedly said she'd "birthday bomb" the room. That she did! Full of decorations and balloons, it was a beautiful way to celebrate. Then, after chatting with Jim, the chef, he learned that the birthday boy loved lamb and offered to make that special (we signed up for the five course meal). The five courses we had were so worth the cost. Not only were portions huge, but everything we were given was absolutely delicious. I'll dream of that filet mignon for a while. The three course breakfasts were also amazing, made extra special by selecting one of their tons of options of flavored lattes. I couldn't recommend staying here more. In addition, the grounds were gorgeous and well kept. We'll be back next year! Thank you Jim and T for making everything so special.

Our number on priority was location, and The One was beyond perfect. It's within walking distance of Richmond's greatest museums as well as the popular Carytown neighborhood where we spent much of our visit. When we arrived, Sean and Polly weren't at home, but we were provided with an access code to get in to the guest rooms. We were absolutely floored when we walked in. The One only has two guest rooms, which makes it the perfect place for privacy. Our room, The Dream Suite, is located at the top of the stairs and is beautifully decorated in shades of deep red. My only very minor gripe is that the bathrooms are no located "en suite." Instead, they are directly outside the rooms. So while each bedroom does have its own bathroom, you do need to leave your room to get to it. Not a huge deal since there are only two guest rooms...but you can't traipse to the bathroom naked at 2am, either! The parlor is located across the hall from the guest rooms and is not only a comfortable lounge spot, but is also stocked full of snacks and beverages. This is also where continental breakfast is served in the morning. The spread is pretty standard- muffins, bagels, cereal, etc. It didn't particularly suit my fancy (way too carb-heavy), but it's the type of breakfast my boyfriend loves. Sean and Polly were fantastic hosts; very attentive and friendly. Honestly, they were the best B&B owners I have ever interacted with. You can tell that they truly love what they do. We can't wait to go back to Richmond to spend another night at The One. Thanks to Polly and Sean for a great stay!

I used to live in the Fan/Museum District, and I love this place because it is in such a good location, right next to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (which I highly recommend as well!), as well as walking distance to shops and restaurants in Carytown, the Fan, etc. We stayed in the carriage house the first time and the house itself the second time. Both were very cozy, with lots of amenities, such as bathrobes, bottled water, and coffee pot/tea in the room. The breakfast in the morning is phenomenal. It is made to order, with eggs, bacon, various rolls, oatmeal, coffee, etc. and served in the house's dining room. The staff is absolutely lovely and so welcoming. Another added bonus is that they provide tickets for admission to the special exhibit at the VMFA, as well as passes to get a free drink in their cafeteria. Love, love, LOVE this place. Highly recommend!

She has seen weddings, receptions, birthdays, proms, quenceneras, baby showers, bridal showers, engagement announcements, rehearsals, bridal shows, retirement parties, dinner parties, public and private Teas, Holiday parties, business meetings, celebrations of life, fund raising events and even political rallies. The house was originally built in 1770 by William Walthall and passed down to his daughters, Polly and Susannah (our purported ghost), then sold to a Doctor Anderson who extended the front of the house in the 1830s. Later, he sold it to a Doctor Friend who resided there when she would serve as a civil war hospital. Sold again, yet to another doctor, Dr. Thomas Cheatham, the house grew again to form a “T” shaped structure. After his death, the home would fall into severe disrepair only to be restored in the 1930s and named Wrexham. The Hague family lived there and maintained what became a “mansion” in the 1960s when it was added to once again. The new addition begged for an upgraded name, which is the now, Wrexham Hall. Sold to Judge Gates in the 1970s, he would sell it and have it moved to its current location. The last addition was made by the Brennan family, an event room that would serve many for years to come. Now owned by Greg and Carol Marion. She is still an event space as well as a Bed and Breakfast. Come Enjoy
