Top Class Shoe Repairs & Key Cutting

Top Class Shoe Repairs & Key Cutting

As shabby as the building and sign appears, I'm not sure whether this local servicing shop is as…read moretop class as it sounds but definitely cheap. I have been here once before to get a pair of keys cut (for just £1.50) and I have to say, the service was generally quick and on time. There was no fuss or hassle and I experienced no problems. There's no reason why it can't be top class. After one visit, it is only fair I judge them on that experience alone. For a simple fix such as a key or shoe repair, you can't really go wrong. As well as shoes and keys, they also engrave trophies and service watches (batteries, straps etc.) so all in all, this is quite a useful shop to keep track of. Anything related to bags and jewellery for instance is also serviced for. This is a small shop (that looks nothing much from the outside) but is certainly well equipped with the right tools and accessories to rescue that old watch or worn down shoe.

Top class shoes repairs!!!! don't think so....lower class service..the Man who I assume owns this…read moreshop is the most arrogant Man I have ever come across..I have used this shop 3 times, the first time I used it he was rude and arrogant but I let it go ! the second time I went to get shoes heeled he insisted on me paying up front, I explained I was going shopping and only had my debit card (which I was planning to get cash back on to pay for my shoes repair), he was so untrusting even though I assured him I would be back, I appreciate some people don't come back for their shoes etc but come on most people wouldn't bother putting their shoes in for a repair if they were not going to bother to collect them, I swore after that I wouldn't use the shop again but Today found myself in a situation were I needed my work shoes heeling and his shop is the only one local so went back armed with the cash to pay upfront...big mistake..paid him for the shoes then he told me it would be 45 minutes even though there wasn't a sole in the shop and he had the newspaper open on the counter..anyway did some shopping went back 20 mins later and saw my shoes on top of the machine and they had been done..he was eating a sandwich and I said ' are my shoes ready yes' and he was so rude he said 'ye they are ready but it hasn't been 45 mins has it ?' OMG so what !!! I snapped back at him 'it doesn't matter does it ,they are ready aren't they' he then almost bit my head off and said' eh I was only saying' and then was huffing and puffing...Never again will I ever go back in his shop...My Dad has used him before and had to walk out because he was so rude to him ...its hard to explain how bad he is until you have experienced it for yourself..but my advice is don't bother going there full stop, go over the road to the shoe repairer inside Fone Bitz much nicer Man.

Customer service gets a zero…read more Occasionally I have taken a family member's watch to have its battery changed. Each time I've tolerated being 'served' by the elder gentleman at this store, has been a test of my civility. In a handful of minutes, the gentleman made disparaging comments about the watch, its owner, questioned a request I made in a condescending manner and inflicted unrequested ill-informed opinion about the world. In 20 years of customer facing work, I can't think of a more dissatisfying conversational exchange. Furthermore, after lauding his own skills, the watch stopped mere hours later and a return visit was necessary. There was no charge for this but the issue was not picked up on the initial visit either. If you don't choose to take your business to one of numerous socially competent and nearby alternatives, insist on a silent transaction. .

He then informed me that my watch was counterfeit .... even though he had never seen one before. The watch in question was purchased from a reputable jewellers with papers and has recently be valued for insurance purposes ???? The watch was then taken over the road to another jewellers, who removed the back and replaced the battery then re-sealed the back within 5 minutes. They even buffed out the damage caused by Watch craft free of charge :) In my opinion Watch craft is not a Watch repair store it's just a fella who likes tinkering with watches , he claims to have worked for Rolex , but a few years back on another occasion he asked me if I purchased my Rolex while I was on holiday ( once again implying that it was a replica ? ) Surely a watchmaker / horologist should be able to tell the difference between a Genuine and a fake watch .... People like this shouldn't be left to play around with peoples timepieces as they clearly don't know what they are doing, I'd hate to think what would have happened to my watch if he managed to open it. I wouldn't trust this business to take a link out, never mind interfere with any moments. All round waste of time if I could give less than 1 star I would have. I wore out my favourite pair of boots, (I know, the world's tiniest violin is playing for me)…read morebasically because I never took them off. According to Forrest Gump, you can tell a lot about a person from their shoes (got to get your wear out of a good bit of footwear!) , I thought I'd rather get my faves repaired than have to go through the effort of breaking in a whole new pair. What you need is a good old cobblers. And so, finding myself infront of Keys N Heels, I ventured inward. With starting prices of £4.75 for flats depending on the scale of the repair, it's darn cheap! And between £4.95 and £6.95 for stilettos depending on the type of heel, rubber or metal repairs available. (Great for salvaging those post-night out accidents!) Much better for your bank balance than a whole new pair of shoes and the guy at the counter was exceptionally helpful. All done while you wait.

Most modern car keys are in fact three keys in one, a mechanical key, an electronic coded chip (transponder) and a remote control. Their Yale Laser machine scans your keys with a laser to measure its precise dimensions. The key is then cut with guaranteed accuracy, meaning the end to ill-fitting duplicate keys. As the name suggests heel repairs are carried out whilst you wait and they sell a range of shoe care products. The chap who normally cuts my keys will soon be leaving :o(
