Now my bedside/office experience--this was the most comfortable any doctor has ever made me feel. The chairs have heat and massage; the staff are all incredibly friendly; Dr. Schindler explains every process while you are in the chair, ensures comfort, and makes sure your smile is perfect; Bella is my favorite assistant I have ever had (thorough and just so kind); they are organized and on top of their game. Came to just get my permanent retainer removed since it broke off after multiple attempts of fixing…read moreit, 3rd time it's popped off from their work, I do not have insurance and was paying out of pocket and was very insistent on knowing the price of everything before I did it. They got their chance to upsell me on a clear retainer which I went through with. So they go ahead and do an x ray without even telling me that's gonna charge me, I'm assuming that's part of the retainer service, but no the young girl was confused and thought I was doing a cleaning. I had to explain I'm not. So I sign for my retainer and made sure that the final price was the final price of $120 with everything. I get a message from them saying I owe over $400 for an x ray I did not sign off on and there is absolutely nothing they can or will do. I recommend going somewhere else, lots of very young and inexperienced people from the paperwork to the dental work.

If I had it to do over again, I would never have gone with Smile Direct. My smile has improved and I am happier with how it looks. But it's still not at 100% and they can't seem to fix it despite nearly 2 years worth of add on treatments. This after paying $2000. My biggest complaint is the retainers after treatment. When I signed on, they were $99 for one pair every 6 months. You HAVE to buy them at that price every 6 months in order to keep your smile guarantee (future free adjustments as needed). Then they raise the price to $125 per pair. If you want to keep your guarantee, you have no choice but to pay the increased price for the exact same product. What's to keep them from continuing to raise the price? It feels like entrapment. And the aligners are cheap plastic that often have sharp or extended edges that you have to flie down so they don't dig into your cheek or gums. I truly wish I would have payed a bit more for a better experience.
