    Very small rooms
    Brett K.

The hotel room we were initially given was incredibly small. After voicing our concerns to the duty manager we have been treated very respectfully and had our room changed to a larger much more lovely room. The issue is that for the same price the standard rooms come in two sizes: the larger size is lovely and the smaller size is unreasonably tiny. I suggest customers confirm their room size prior to payment if concerned about room size. The larger room, restaurant, bar and location are all wonderful when not being cramped into a tiny box. The rooftop pool is fantastic with an outside balcony offering great views over Hyde Park and an excellent place to watch the sunrise or sunset. If the hotel could rectify the issue with small rooms (either not use them or advertise them as a small standard at a reduced price) then I would give this hotel a 10/10. It's just such a shame we had our first night ruined.

My recent stay at Sheraton on the Park was absolutely beautiful - I didn't want to leave! The staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to assist. My room included access to The Sheraton Club, which I would highly recommend as it definitely added to my overall hotel experience. The Club is located on the top floor and overlooks Hyde Park. Breakfast and evening canapés are included with the Club access and are served daily. Afternoon tea (scones, cakes, etc.) is served on Saturdays and Sundays. All drinks (including alcohol) are included, and waiters will provide table service for drinks (all food is served at a buffet). My favourite food was definitely the granola and Greek yoghurt served as part of breakfast. My room was quite big, with a king size bed and large marble bathroom. I was lucky enough to have a room with a view of Hyde Park. The bed was super comfortable - I never wanted to get out each morning. Complimentary tea and coffee facilities are provided in each room, along with the usual overpriced mini bar. The hotel is within walking distance to Hyde Park, Martin Place and the Pitt Street Mall. Darling Harbour is about a 20 minute walk from the hotel, but it's a nice way to explore the city. Overall, this was one of my best hotel experiences and I look forward to staying again next time I'm in Sydney.

Finishing up a week long stay here and I must say this is probably the BEST Sheraton I have ever stayed at. I am a Hyatt Diamond member but opted for the Sheraton due to its location and rate (I am an SPG Gold). I have to say besides a few minor quibbles the stay was near perfect. 1. Gym - the gym is excellent, it has about 10 or so cardio machines, multiple weight machines, free weight bench press, free weight squat rack and a heavy bag and speed bag. One of the best gyms I have visited between the Hyatt and Sheraton brands. 2. Pool - the pool is beautiful, on the rooftop, impeccably maintained with grand views. 3. Sheraton Executive Club - This club is the BEST in the SPG network. Breakfast is divine with great bircher muesli, house made granola and THREE different hot items a day. Evening service is even more amazing with fresh oysters, free alcohol, and three different hot items in the evening (arancini, chicken and leek pies, dim sum) as well as sushi. The club offerings are absolutely amazing. 4. Service - Service overall has been excellent. I arrived last week from a non stop flight form the US and get to the hotel at 7am. Obviously that's a bit early to check in but the hotel gave me access to the club and they provided me a room by 9am! They also granted me late checkout (due to my gold status) to 4pm without me even asking. Last night the club lounge got filled to capacity (no seats) and they kindly took me down to the Conservatory bar and let me order anything I wanted due to the inconvenience. 5. Rooms - the rooms don't have the modern finish that most Hyatt's do but the Sheraton has the classic feel. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Enough room to have a seating area as well. My few minor quibbles - makes me drop this from a 5 star to a 4 star review 1. Aussies must like to smoke because the club level floor smelled like smoke the whole time I was here. It got so bad one night that I had to call down as I was coughing so much due to the fumes. 2. The Feast restaurant buffet - the food is very good, but its so busy that I only got my water glass filled twice when I dined there one night. TIP - instead of ordering room service go to the Feast. It turns out cheaper than room service since SPG members get 15% off and you get much better selection. IF I am ever back in Sydney I will absolutely stay here again.

The hotel it self is still as good as it's always been and for that side of the experience it deserves between a 4-5 star rating. However the quality of the food at the seafood buffet has been in decline for a long time and now you can't pay to leave your supercar parked at valet like I've been able to do since 2009 when I first discovered the place. Also to ad about the parking situation, their so called "valet service" where you pay usually around $75 a pop is actually half a valet experience. Not only is it a steep parking price (I don't have any issues with that as it's an expensive hotel" but they only take the cars downstairs for you and when it's time to leave, they don't bring it up to you, you have to go down into the basement and aimlessly wander around searching for your car where you have no idea where the valet guy parked it. I'm not sure why they offer a valet service if they don't understand the concept of valet... It is a shame as this place for many years was faultless in every aspect of the hotel, but it looks like those days are gone... And they have started to cut corners. Please lift your game if you wish to keep an untarnished reputation.

Stunning building, great views, amazing rooms and the best customer service a top class Australian hotel can offer. You will not forget your stay here!

Great hotel in the heart of the city. I have been to conferences here and also stayed here and their service is always quite good. The rooms are clean and well done as well. I would happily stay here anytime.

Well, today we're checking out Bistecca... a steakhouse speakeasy of sorts! Here's how it went and why it was rated #45 of the top 101 steakhouses in the entire world... Atmosphere/Appearance: Deep in downtown Sydney hidden in an alleyway in the entrance to this literal hidden gem. Lol. Once through the door and down the stairs you're taken to a very dark dimly lit, but very old-school looking tavern. It's a small room, but essentially a waiting room/cocktail lounge for you. Once it's your turn to head into the dining room the door open to the brightly lit room, your phones are locked away in a drawer which you have access to via a key and you're guided to your seat! I LOVED this experience because now you're forced to just live and be in the moment. The kitchen is wide open and you can see everything that's happening. The tables and chairs are scattered throughout the room and you just, BE. Like the good 'ol days before smart phones. Service: I can't remember the name of our server, but he was excellent. We had no issues at all. Food: The menu is extremely simple. You're here for steak. That's it. The steak is sold in 100g increments. So you order by weight. We ordered 900g and the steak was so incredible we both wish we could've gone to maybe 1.2kg. Lol. That's a LOT of steak still, but this does include the weight of the bone. The feature is a large, T-bone steak cut from Australian-grown Chianina cattle and grilled over charcoal. It's recommended to be cooked medium-rare. It seriously was Heavenly. I don't even remember what sides we got. That's how good this steak was. Lol. Value: The steak is $19 AUD ($11.84 USD) per 100 grams (3.5 oz). The conversion can trip you up, so for example, the ORIGINAL steakhouse in NYC (Delmonico's) sells their 18 oz. T-Bone for $76.00 USD. The same size steak here would cost you around $65.00 and it's the #45 best steakhouse in the world. Delmonico's is not even on that list. Do what you wish with that information. Lol. The sides were appropriately priced. In conclusion, I LOVED this place and so did my wife. We still think about Bistecca years after we've been there and it's 100% worth making some good reservations as far in advance as possible because this place is small and will always be packed!

This was 1 of the best meals we've had here in Sydney with a great waterfront view Staff is nice and a great dining experience. My wife and I shared the Lamb Hook and a side of fries. The meat was tender and very good. The salad had a nice tasting vinaigrette and the meal also came with a gravy that complimented the lamb very well. The food was amazing. Service wasn't too bad overall but they really could have checked on us more often after they had delivered our food. The food was kind of mixed. A couple in the group had ordered steaks and they were bland and tough. I ordered the Kangaroo for the table and we got that medium rare. Super tender and while it could have used more seasoning, the sauce we got with it paired perfectly. For myself I got the burger and beef ribs combo. For me this is where things go down hill. The beef ribs were TOUGH, hard to bite through and get off of the bone. As for the burger it was pretty dry but luckily I had the sauce from the kangaroo to fix that. I can say that the fries were perfectly cooked though. They have a number of cocktails to choose from but the beer menu was pretty limited.

Compared to United States prices, I find them actually quite reasonable for very high quality steaks. The restaurant is nicely decorated; service was great. It is located in the Rock district. The oysters were good but practically all oysters in Australia are good so nothing special here; however, the stars of the show were the steaks. They offered a cut of steak called Platinum Eye of the Rump which I've not had before in US so gave that a try. It's supposed to be Wagyu beef and did not disappoint. At $79 Australian dollars, that translated to about $52 US dollars and I would say you it was well worth it. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and was super tender and beefy. The ribeye was a larger cut and more expensive at $110 Australian dollars or around $73 US dollars. We enjoyed the ribeye as well, but the eye of the rump stood out more. The steaks come with a choice of steak cut fries or salad so we ordered one of each. Both sides were exceptional as well. I ate at another steak restaurant in Australia where the sides were "meh" but I found these well made. Overall, I highly recommend this steak restaurant.

Inside has a more formal ambiance we appreciated, but outside - assuming no cruise ship in the way - is probably the way to go for views, as we requested an inside top floor table with a view and didn't get much of one; turns out not many tables inside with a view. Service was mostly good but oddly slow in a few spots, the wine list was on iPad, and our pomme puree (mashed potatoes) came quite late. Steak was very good. MB7+ tomahawk is a terrific presentation, perfectly cooked to your specification, and described in detail. If you want the very highest quality (MB9) unfortunately thay was not on the menu when we visited, but it was surprisingly difficult find higher than MB7 on the regular menu of any of their competitors so I digress... (keyword: regular) Rest of the food was excellent. Little gem salad and chips are included with your tomahawk, the pomme puree was deliciously creamy if you like creamy mashed potatoes, broccolini hit the spot. And the scallops, while modest in appearance, won high praise. As someone who normally has a hard time going out for steak, given I can almost always make a better one at home, I do have to say that for a special occasion, 6HEAD was on the mark.
