Lovely hotel. My room looked over Hyde Park. All staff very friendly and welcoming and addressed me by name when they could. Very spacious rooms, well maintained and kept very clean. The Sheraton Signature beds are fantastically comfortable. I want to buy one! My only gripe is that the F&B prices in room service and the cafe etc were outrageous. I realise that this is a 5-star hotel, but $10.00 for a bowl of cereal? $38.00 for a steak sandwich? I know there's no one forcing me to order these, (and I didn't - I ate out), but hotels should realise that instead of being greedy, they'd probably make a lot more money in their F&B outlets by making prices more reasonable - more people would eat at the hotel in that case! Yes, there's paying for a "5 star experience" in terms of rooms and service, but how do you have a "5 star experience with a bowl of cereal of steak sandwich?"!!! Small gripe, but that's 5 star hotels in the western world, I guess. Again, the lack of "free internet" is again, annoying. If a small 3 star motor lodge in the countryside can do it, I'm sure The Sheraton can do it. Most people travel with internet USB dongles these days, so if you have to pay outrageous prices for the internet in the hotel, they'll use their dongle anyway. Once again, greedy behaviour and if 5-star hotels do offer free internet and reasonably priced F&B then they'll get my custom every time. I know many other business travellers who feel this way. Aside from that, a lovely hotel. Great location, nice staff, well maintained and I would recommend it for business travellers or people looking for a nice city break in Sydney. read more

Great location, fantastic service and very nice rooms. Our room was a city-view king and it was large and well appointed (great large bathroom, good size room, iPhone dock / stereo, nice TV unit). Overall the room was very clean (especially the bathroom which makes a nice change) but there was a faint odour coming from one corner of the room (thankfully not near the bed). Overall I found this to be very good value for money and certainly the best stay I've had in Sydney so far. read more

From the moment you step inside the vicinity of this place your mind immediately switches on to just how glamorous it looks. Every detail of this place - from the marble columns, elegant cars dropping off passengers outside, grand staircase in the foyer - shouts out that Sheraton on the Park is a hotel that aims to impress. I booked a room for one of my birthdays so that my girlfriends and I could have an outrageous night out and have somewhere lovely to crash. The double room I booked was large enough for us, it had a small lounge area which was perfect for those pre-drinking games, and all the fads of a quality five star hotel - flat screen TV, mini bar, gorgeous bathroom with amenities etc. The one low point was the view from the room, where you couldn't see much of anything really (perhaps the walls of the building next door) but this didn't particularly bother us. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to dip in the indoor heated pool, but I had a peek in the morning when I eventually woke up and it was quite impressive with beautiful views sweeping over Hyde Park. If you do stay here, definitely take advantage of the day to relax - they have a fantastic spa here (if you're willing to pay for it!) read more

The hotel room we were initially given was incredibly small. After voicing our concerns to the duty manager we have been treated very respectfully and had our room changed to a larger much more lovely room. The issue is that for the same price the standard rooms come in two sizes: the larger size is lovely and the smaller size is unreasonably tiny. I suggest customers confirm their room size prior to payment if concerned about room size. The larger room, restaurant, bar and location are all wonderful when not being cramped into a tiny box. The rooftop pool is fantastic with an outside balcony offering great views over Hyde Park and an excellent place to watch the sunrise or sunset. If the hotel could rectify the issue with small rooms (either not use them or advertise them as a small standard at a reduced price) then I would give this hotel a 10/10. It's just such a shame we had our first night ruined. read more

Sydney's premier buffet - you bet ! This is undoubtedly the pinnacle of buffet's in this city. The food is of great quality and there is plenty of fresh seafood, cooked specials and ofcourse great desserts. The only downside is the price - it is very expensive and comparing to other great buffets around the world eg Las Vegas or Asia - this is ridiculously priced. I guess given that the living costs in Sydney is one of highest in the world, this isn't too surprising! The constant supply of freshly shucked Australian oysters and plump tiger prawns are excellent. On the night I attended, they had a Peking Duck pancake stall which were made fresh and it was undoubtedly the most popular food stand. One thing to note, they don't have much in the way of fruits for dessert. I guess who needs fruit when there is such an array of cakes and other decadent desserts? Located inside the Sheraton hotel across the road from Hyde Park, this is a classy venue and there is the hotel bar right next to the buffet so you can hang out there whilst waiting or after dinner when you're in a comatose state and can't walk anywhere. read more

My recent stay at Sheraton on the Park was absolutely beautiful - I didn't want to leave! The staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to assist. My room included access to The Sheraton Club, which I would highly recommend as it definitely added to my overall hotel experience. The Club is located on the top floor and overlooks Hyde Park. Breakfast and evening canapés are included with the Club access and are served daily. Afternoon tea (scones, cakes, etc.) is served on Saturdays and Sundays. All drinks (including alcohol) are included, and waiters will provide table service for drinks (all food is served at a buffet). My favourite food was definitely the granola and Greek yoghurt served as part of breakfast. My room was quite big, with a king size bed and large marble bathroom. I was lucky enough to have a room with a view of Hyde Park. The bed was super comfortable - I never wanted to get out each morning. Complimentary tea and coffee facilities are provided in each room, along with the usual overpriced mini bar. The hotel is within walking distance to Hyde Park, Martin Place and the Pitt Street Mall. Darling Harbour is about a 20 minute walk from the hotel, but it's a nice way to explore the city. Overall, this was one of my best hotel experiences and I look forward to staying again next time I'm in Sydney. read more

My husband and I had a pleasant experience and stay at the Sheraton. We stayed there twice and both times, it was difficult to get early check in. However, they gave us the option to use the gym/spa and gave us lobby wifi. It was our honeymoon and we were pleasantly surprised to see that the hotel delivered complimentary fruit, chocolate and wine to celebrate our nuptials.Also the room had a nice small couch sectionional to relax and not just a bed, tv and desk. Also the bathrooms are huge! Location was very convenient as well. From the airport, we were able to take the train to St. James station and the Sheraton was just half a block away. We also scheduled a few tours where the tour bus was able to pick us up at the hotel directly. We had a broad range of dinner options, esp Asian food, just 5-10 minutes walking distance away. We would definitely stay here again as we had a great experience here for our honeymoon in Australia. read more

Finishing up a week long stay here and I must say this is probably the BEST Sheraton I have ever stayed at. I am a Hyatt Diamond member but opted for the Sheraton due to its location and rate (I am an SPG Gold). I have to say besides a few minor quibbles the stay was near perfect. 1. Gym - the gym is excellent, it has about 10 or so cardio machines, multiple weight machines, free weight bench press, free weight squat rack and a heavy bag and speed bag. One of the best gyms I have visited between the Hyatt and Sheraton brands. 2. Pool - the pool is beautiful, on the rooftop, impeccably maintained with grand views. 3. Sheraton Executive Club - This club is the BEST in the SPG network. Breakfast is divine with great bircher muesli, house made granola and THREE different hot items a day. Evening service is even more amazing with fresh oysters, free alcohol, and three different hot items in the evening (arancini, chicken and leek pies, dim sum) as well as sushi. The club offerings are absolutely amazing. 4. Service - Service overall has been excellent. I arrived last week from a non stop flight form the US and get to the hotel at 7am. Obviously that's a bit early to check in but the hotel gave me access to the club and they provided me a room by 9am! They also granted me late checkout (due to my gold status) to 4pm without me even asking. Last night the club lounge got filled to capacity (no seats) and they kindly took me down to the Conservatory bar and let me order anything I wanted due to the inconvenience. 5. Rooms - the rooms don't have the modern finish that most Hyatt's do but the Sheraton has the classic feel. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Enough room to have a seating area as well. My few minor quibbles - makes me drop this from a 5 star to a 4 star review 1. Aussies must like to smoke because the club level floor smelled like smoke the whole time I was here. It got so bad one night that I had to call down as I was coughing so much due to the fumes. 2. The Feast restaurant buffet - the food is very good, but its so busy that I only got my water glass filled twice when I dined there one night. TIP - instead of ordering room service go to the Feast. It turns out cheaper than room service since SPG members get 15% off and you get much better selection. IF I am ever back in Sydney I will absolutely stay here again. read more

When checking if we were upsold to an executive room with park view. Despite the hotel being told in writing (email) that I was bringing my fiancé on this business trip, and that there would be two guests we were never offered or informed that access to the club level was for only one person. We found out the 13th day of our stay when my fiancé was denied entry to the club level. This was adjusted by the hotel but it colored our experience and we went to the club just one more time after the incident. The more serious problem was the mini bar attendant entering our room twice when my fiancé was not dressed - the second time included her yelling 'NO!' and him entering anyway. I spoke to the manager on duty and let him know how serious this was, my fiancé did not feel safe in the hotel after that an we had a week to go. I had asked the hotel to clear the minibar and not refill after the first incident and was not pleased that this individual still tried to enter. After talking to the management I again repeated this request. On the second to last day of our stay the bar attendant showed again - though this time he did not enter the room. Also on the very last day of our stay the restaurant Feast tried to charge us for breakfast - despite the fact that it was included with our rooms and we had not checked out of the hotel yet. I'm a business traveler with over four months of hotel room stays in twelves cities in the past year - and have never had a hotel screw up the basics so much. Know what you charged your guests for, inform them of your rules (two people in the room should be two people in the club, unless informed otherwise the first day), don't try to charge for breakfast on the last day of a stay if it's supposed to be included and stay out of the damn room if asked not to enter. Why would we want an empty mini-bar refilled when we asked for it to remain empty the duration of our stay? I not be staying at this Sheraton again. It's a shame, the other reviews about how beautiful the hotel is and convent the location is are all true, but it seems the staff doesn't really care about the customer and is not competent in the basics of running a hotel. read more

Hubby and I stayed here for 5 days during our whirlwind New Zealand/Australia trip in April/May of this year. I am an SPG Gold member and I always try to stay at SPG properties whenever I travel, not only for the Gold perks but also for the potential savings. Sheraton on the Park is directly across the street from Hyde Park, and within the vicinity of huge shopping complexes as well as high end shopping such as Hermes. It is a beautiful building with some awesome views of the park. Our room was spacious and the bathroom was ginorous, with both a shower and a bath in marble. We never had any issues with noise. We also tried out their gorgeous indoor pool, which overlooks most of Sydney. The pool was a good size, great for those that like to get in laps. We didn't use the gym but it looked very clean and had all the equipment one could ask for. The staff was very courteous and helpful. There was one day when it rained unexpectedly and we were able to get an umbrella loaner from the front desk. Only con (but I didn't deduct stars since I'm sure it's only a blip) was that when we were here, Justin Bieber was also on his Australia tour and he was rumored to stay here. We constantly bumped into teeny boppers; they accosted us in the elevators, in the lobby, at the front door, at the side doors.... it was a little crazy. The "security" was basically nonexistent. We had one girl bum rush us into an elevator (their elevators don't work unless you have a room card) so she just got off on our floor and started walking the stairs, looking for JB. Not cool. However, we'd definitely stay here again as it was comfortable and a great location. read more

The hotel it self is still as good as it's always been and for that side of the experience it deserves between a 4-5 star rating. However the quality of the food at the seafood buffet has been in decline for a long time and now you can't pay to leave your supercar parked at valet like I've been able to do since 2009 when I first discovered the place. Also to ad about the parking situation, their so called "valet service" where you pay usually around $75 a pop is actually half a valet experience. Not only is it a steep parking price (I don't have any issues with that as it's an expensive hotel" but they only take the cars downstairs for you and when it's time to leave, they don't bring it up to you, you have to go down into the basement and aimlessly wander around searching for your car where you have no idea where the valet guy parked it. I'm not sure why they offer a valet service if they don't understand the concept of valet... It is a shame as this place for many years was faultless in every aspect of the hotel, but it looks like those days are gone... And they have started to cut corners. Please lift your game if you wish to keep an untarnished reputation. read more

Stay at the Club Level if you can. The food at the Club was abundant, in terms of quantity and quality, fruits, sweets, hot items.... I don't drink coffee, but they made the coffee for you. Servers were polite, friendly and accommodating, not to mention the spectacular view of the city. Tables fill up quickly, so go early. The room is of a good size and clean. The concierge arranged car rental for us. Everything went smoothly except for a small misunderstanding when we dropped off the rental at the hotel. It's a great location. If you want to visit Bondi Beach, the bus stop is across the street. Highly recommend. read more

Conservatory Bar. Beautiful bar in the Sheraton Hotel - on the mezzanine level you can sit and watch sport or have a drink, beer and wine are served with bowls of peanuts. So you don't order the peanuts - they just arrive on your table. It was a great atmosphere for a meeting. I met up with my financial advisors and we chose to sit on the tall bar-stools around a table. There were a few different options for seating arrangements, you could sit on more lounge style leather chairs or booths too. There was a beautiful big wrought iron chandelier over the bar and the ceiling was all window a very nice effect. read more

If you're an American, and an SPG platinum member, stay the hell away. Because you will be sorely disappointed. Either Australian SPG members don't know any better, or this property shows some prejudice against non-Aussies - the end result is Americans are usually shafted. You can see a similar trend in the Starwood website reviews, as well. No upgrade. Some serious attitude in communicating the lack of an upgrade, and a rigid inability to change that later during a long stay. Great customer service, guys. That's how you go the extra mile to make the customer happy!... Geeeeeez... "The room you move into the first night is the room you stay in for the duration. Sorry, that's SPG policy." What SPG policy? Maybe it does exist, but I've never heard of it enforced anywhere I've ever been. 8 years Platinum going on 9, and I've been all over North and South America, Europe, China, South Africa, and I've never heard of this policy. If you're not happy, too bad. This hotel couldn't care less. Service to the room takes forever. No water? You may die of thirst... It took all of 50 minutes to finally deliver a few bottles of water my first night. (By the way, you should stock water in the room, in the first place.) You want access to the Club Lounge for breakfast? Fine. But better get there early. They started clearing food fast and furious, like they're ready to jet out to somewhere more fun. (Maybe they are.) But the ice princess / dragonlady managing the spot doesn't have to stare you daggers when you ask for some fruit. Wowie! Oh, and here's the best part. After corporate got back to the local management about its poor check-in behavior, I was contacted by a hotel manager to move rooms. THEY 'UPGRADED' ME TO A SMALLER ROOM!!! Ahahahaha. Even in New York, with tiny little W rooms, I have never been 'upgraded' to a SMALLER room. Wow, I guess American and Aussie definitions have very very different meanings. Unbelievable. Don't waste your money or points here. Oh, and gotta love the $10 bottle of swill they sent to the room as goodwill. Thank you, but no thank you. read more

This is a very nice place, the service as you would expect from this type of hotel was top notch, the staff are all incredibly professional and helpful. The room we got had a great view of Hyde Park and was very comfortable the bathroom was great, bed comfy and everything from check in to check out very smooth. As it was a Valentines Day stay I had flowers delivered to the hotel to arrive ahead of my girlfriend and I, the concierge was very helpful in organising this and getting them placed in the room. The food at the restaurant Feast was fantastic too and the buffet while expensive at $99 a head was incredible, the service there too was really top notch and the waitress Linda was one of the most genuinely friendly and helpful people I've had take care of me in a restaurant. Overall very happy with the Sheraton. Oh and to put the icing on the cake they gave me access to the "executive club" on the 21st floor where free drinks and canapés were served in the evenings and Free breakfast in the mornings too, with a great view to enjoy it all with. Very good, very expensive. Would love to go back. read more

My husband and I stayed here for a week. The rooms are nice and cozy. They marble bathroom added a nice touch. The wifi isn't free as stated and the restaurant is terribly overpriced for a mediocre selection. We did appreciate the scenery and convenience of location but aren't quite sure if we would stay again if ever in Sydney. read more

Frequent hotel visiter for work and I was more than impressed with their ability to make our dry cleaning items completely disappear to never be returned or compensated. Very impressive customer service to the point they almost convinced us the items never existed! Manager had to hang up and never called back as promised despite thousands of dollars of clothing missing. So yes it was a memorable stay. read more

Sheraton on the Park is a classic hotel situated opposite Hyde Park. The surroundings are beautiful and the hotel itself simply stunning. I often have my hair done at the day spa at Sheraton on the Park and the decor and ambiance is breathtaking. Christopher Hanna Platinum Hair sits within the day spa and attracts the more wealthier clientele. I had a Spreets voucher which I used to redeem a hair straightening package. The lobby of the hotel is classic, but unfortunately on one occasion the concierge was very rude and snobby. The hotel attracts many celebrities and it is obvious why- the place reeks grandeur and elegance! read more

Very nice hotel. But charging for a long black while having an expensive breakfast is not what I like. I complained but I got no reply. Since then I never stayed there again. In the past you had to ask for a long black instead of the cheap instant coffee they usually serve. But they never charged it. I stayed more than 50 nights in this hotel before. read more

Reservation was paid in full. Flight was canceled, forcing me to change travel plans and move directly to Melby. After explaining, was not able to cancel the expensive reservation. Service was rude. Can't speak to quality of hotel, but will never stay here due to poor service after this experience. read more
