I dropped in after getting bagels next door at Jeff's Bagel Run. My watch wasn't working. I assumed it was dead battery. The gentleman behind the counter in this lovely little specialty "Mom & Pop" shop looked at it and let me know it was t the battery. Something else was wrong. It's all mold cheap watch with sentimental value not worth investing money to repair. No charge for the Devi e and time spent diagnosing the issue. Stayed and spent time with the two guys. They had a dog I. The shop behind the counter. Super friendly people and canine. I will certainly return with a few other items I have in need of repair. read more

The "Old Grouch" owner of Times Masterpiece referred to in other reviews below lives up to his rep. I parked in the plaza where Times Masterpiece is located at 9AM. It's a tiny parking lot which is busy in the mornings for people getting bagels or going to the gym-- the jewelry store doesn't even open until 10AM-- and the old man came out of the store to accost me and yell at me for parking there. I said "there are no other spots, you aren't open for another hour, and I'll be here for two minutes picking up a bagel order". He continued to harass me anyway. And even took a picture of my vehicle. INSANE. Additionally, I had planned to get my watch fixed there. Obviously I won't do business with that total jerk, and I advise anyone to go elsewhere. Note: I asked the Bagel Run employees next door about the Times store owner; they told me he constantly harasses women (I was parked between two male drivers, and he didn't say a single word to them!!!) for parking in the lot, regardless of the fact that his establishment ISN'T open. Ridiculous, rude, and sexist. Take your jewelry repairs ELSEWHERE. That guy deserves to OUT of business and save the parking spaces for good businesses. read more

My wife's 30-year-old Movado wristwatch was in need of a battery. I checked in at the Movado Store at the Outlet Mall and the woman there said she was only equipped to change batteries in "newer watches" and suggested I send in to the Movado Factory in NEW JERSEY or take it to the nearest Movado-approved service center - in CLEARWATER. This is a freaking *watch battery* we're talking about! Out of curiosity, I called and priced the locations she suggested - and in both cases, with shipping and service, the costs were a MINIMUM of $50 (unless they "discovered other problems - in which case it could be more")!!! Preposterous! So I went to YELP and discovered Times Masterpiece. I called and spoke with George's son, who said "By all means, bring it right in! We should be able to take care of you immediately", quoting a MUCH more reasonable price. A half-hour later, I was there. George, (I presume the proprietor) was gracious, confident, efficient and installed the new battery in about three minutes, setting the accurate time and date. and charging me a fair and reasonable price. While there, I had a nice conversation with both George and his son, and am convinced I have found my next "go-to" place for jewelry and watches. Thank you, gents! read more

Will update when repair is complete. On first impression I have to admit I'm delighted to have met George. I left my 25 year old "Cornado" wedding band to have the diamond channels reworked and all tighten up. I'm thinking I may have finally found the replacement for my long since retired Lenny of Lenny's Jewelers. Lenny left a huge deficit when he closed up. Last time this same work was done some 12 years ago, Mayors (who refused to honor their LIFETIME warranty) wanted $1000.00 to do the job that Lenny charged me only $64.00. Suckers beware... George quoted me $75.00. A good first impression. Like Lenny, who was always reasonable and up front rational (not greedy) with his suggestions comes off as one with the same motive; groom a customer for life. I hope my first impression is right. Decided to leave a current review so those who are looking for watch repair will be convinced to take it here. I took a watch to a big name chain that sells jewelry for a battery change for a seiko. Battery change sounds simple enough? Paid $25. Two days later I notice condensation. I wash my hands a lot, so I thought it was from the battery change. I call them back and they said they could replace the battery again, which idk why they brought that up since that wasn't the problem, and to pull my crown out and stick it in rice (which doesn't solve the leak in the first place). So I just gave up talking to them if that was their plan of attack. I took it to these guys and they said they'll take a look. They showed me that the gasket was torn which allowed water to leak in. He replaced it and even pressure tested it to make sure I'm left with a solid repair. I no longer have condensation when washing my hands. All that effort for about $10. They even replaced the China battery with a Swiss one. All for less than the chain store. Get your watch worked by a professional like these guys. Not whoever is selling you jewelry. read more

Family owned little shop. Walked in and was immediately greeted. Had watch batteries replaced in 7 watches. He did them while I waited. After I left discovered one of the watches wasn't working. Returned right before closing and the son looked at the watch and discovered he forgot to put a battery in it. While waiting looked at some very unique men's jewelry in the display case (someone will be getting a very nice gift for their birthday) the women's jewelry was meh. It's hard enough to find watch repair, but to find such an excellent watch repair shop -- I'm thrilled! I had some watch batteries and a strap changed by another shop in Orlando a few months ago. Customer service was lousy, it was expensive, and within 2 weeks one battery was dead and the strap had broken! I didn't want to go back to that shop, and found Times Masterpiece. George and his son(?) offer the nicest, most professional customer service one could ask for. It doesn't matter if you bring in a Timex or a Rolex -- you're treated like a friend and valued customer! These guys are master craftsmen and perfectionists, I wouldn't trust anyone else with my watches -- and if my jewelry ever needs fixing, I'll bring it here, too! read more

I walked in with a $900 Seiko watch that needed a new battery. The grumpy individual working on the watches opened it up and told me it was melted. He then asked how long the dead battery was left in the watch. I told it him it had been a while. He told me the best thing to do was to throw it away. I didn't agree and asked if he could switch out the battery anyway just to give it a try. He insisted that I should get over it and throw it in the garbage. He added that the longer I look at it everday, the more upset it will make me, and that there was definitely no way to fix this watch. With that said, I took the watch to my father's home, we used his watch repair kit to open it, cleaned it with a small brush, replaced the battery, and it worked perfectly. My father is no watch repair guy, but clearly has more skill and common sense. This guy may have business repairing watches, but he is clearly no professional, shows zero courtesy, very rude, and makes horrible recommendations. I would never refer anyone to this individual for a professional opinion on anything, much less anything that has to do with watch repair. read more
