I was little and wanted to read up about Black Panther and one of the employees went into the back and opened a new box that had just delivered the Christopher Priest Black Panther trade which blew my mind in 1998. Metro was my favorite comic shop and remember driving from Westwood to Santa Barbara just to visit one time. Today, Metro still has a great selection(action figures and manga too), but is just overrun with overstock. They have back issues and books on the floor, on top of long boxes, and in random places. They run sales, but they need to be more aggressive because they don't have the space. It seems like cards are really helping Metro stay alive and they have tables for games. I know a lot of comic shops have had to lean into games more and sacrifice the back issue long boxes for extra table top space. That might be the play here which breaks my heart. Just want Metro to thrive and be clean to welcome that young potential comic reader.

We stopped by the Nurture Cottage when we were walking on Coast Village Road one morning last month and my husband wrangled the toddler while I browsed the store, ready to hand over our money. I asked the cashier, who I think was the owner, where I might find 24-month clothes for boys and she directed me to the right areas. I ended up getting Angel Dear bear print pajamas and a set of Sol Angeles sweatshirt and joggers. Check-out was easy and fast and the woman helping me was friendly. Both the pajamas and the sweats are in heavy rotation on the baby, and I liked the Sol Angeles set so much that I bought an identical one for myself (I wear it for days at a time). We look very cute in our matching outfits--he looks extremely cute and I look like a grown woman in sweats, but it averages out. I'll probably be back to Nurture Cottage next time I'm in Montecito, and I expect to find more nice clothes to dress my little model of a boy.

He was wearing a hoody and sitting behind the cashier table. He would not look up an item on the computer and would not assist in locating a game. I was afraid of children entering this store due to his behavior, but there didn't appear to be a supervisor present and the clerk would not acknowledge if there was one. The food and beverage area is fine and plenty of alcohol selections. I will say, my husband is able to get hard to find collectible cards at this location. What really had an impact on this low score is the small parking lot and that it takes over ten minutes to get a drive up order. I always tell my Target app when I'm on my way but despite prepping the staff, i still sit there and wait. The Goleta location is much quicker when it comes to this.
