Jacob was unable to get back to me in a timely manner due to personal reasons. In the meantime, I decided to sign with another company to complete the work I need on my property. I was disappointed that I hadn't heard back from Jacob, so I left a review here expressing that disappointment. Almost immediately upon submitting my review, the owner responded. A short time later, Jacob called to explain why he hadn't gotten back to me and apologized for having dropped the ball. While I cannot speak to the quality of their work because I did not end up hiring them, I am changing my review because I feel like the owner and Jacob reaching out despite already having lost me as a customer shows integrity and care that is lacking in many contractor businesses these days. I appreciate that they care, so it is only fair for my review to be updated to reflect that accordingly.

He said that he used to install and I liked that the sales person had experience doing the job so they weren't selling something that they really didn't understand. All of the staff were respectful and very clear. They continued communication through the process. I was also not harassed through follow ups. They allowed me time to review, get quotes, look at my budget and make - decision. It was a big reason I followed up when it made sense to move forward. I have had a lot of issues with contractors and Summit Fence has been such a breeze to work with. They do what they say they are going to do and they complete the job while respecting your space. I wish their energy was found elsewhere. I really love the look of the fence. I also had them stain it. Andrew and team did a great job. They were able to fit me in the schedule last minute and arrived early. At the end, they made sure to ask if I had any questions. If you want to pay check to avoid the fee, you can drop the deposit off and once the job is completed, the contractors will accept the check. That is a plus so you don't have to drive back over.

Despite their quote being approximately 25% higher than competitors, I felt confident that the quality of workmanship would justify the price. Unfortunately, my experience did not align with those expectations. The crew installed approximately 100 defective pickets along with several problematic posts. I was told their installers had significantly more experience than those at other companies, which made it all the more frustrating that such obvious defects weren't caught and avoided during installation. While they did return to replace the posts, I was left wondering why those materials were used in the first place. To make matters worse, a 6x6 post was also questioned -- some professionals claimed it was acceptable, others said it was clearly defective. FIRST FENCE did eventually replace it, but not without multiple visits and conversations. While the fence does look good now, the process was far more stressful than it should have been. One of the main reasons I hired a premium company like FIRST FENCE was to avoid the headache of micromanaging a project. Unfortunately, I ended up doing just that. EDIT: Less than a year since install and already having gate failure in a low traffic area. The company is trying to charge $300 to repair the fence. apparently a gate used 2x weekly is too much and the gate is for just looking at and not using.

I asked for them to fix it and they came by and put dirt over the cement. Less than two months later the fence post caps have started to come off -- four so far have fallen off (pics attached). I emailed Johnathan about the cap issues and asked about the ten-year warranty that came with the fence. Instead of receiving an apology or coming out to properly affix the caps, he told me the caps don't typically come off and I would have to pay $100 for them to come out and fix it. Save your money and go elsewhere. While they claim they provide a ten year warranty for materials and workmanship, in practice it means nothing.
