My wife and I can't express enough how pleased we are with the work that Penn Carpentry did to rescue our porch build. Unfortunately, we originally chose a contractor who would not follow the plans we had spent considerable time creating with our architect. This contractor decided he knew better than what the homeowner and architect wanted so we fired him. Thankfully Tate and the Penn Carpentry team of subs picked up the project and completed it and vastly surpassed our expectations. I did my renovation with Penn Carpentry back in 2006 and they were fabulous! I truly cannot say enough about Greg and Tate. Both have been wonderful and still are! How many people can still call their contractors to get help on other small projects and I have even asked them about things they did and I can't remember how something was done. They still remember and help me out. They are really wonderful. They are honest, upfront and can explain building in terms non-builders can understand. They stand behind their work and are easy to contact and always return your phone calls. Renovation can be really scary and they made it so easy I 'd actually do it again and hope to work on a smaller project when we get the money. I've just completed a fairly large renovation and addition onto my 2-1 bungalow in Decatur. Choosing Penn Carpentry was the best decision I could have made. While all of my friends had nightmare stories to share about their renovation experiences, I had the complete opposite experience. Our project came in on budget and on schedule, with no drama!! Greg's subs are skilled and have a long working relationship with the company. The coordination of the sub scheduling was amazingly efficient. My bank that handled the construction loan was incredibly impressed by Greg & Carol's detailed bookkeeping and spot-on reporting to support all the construction loans draws. The end result was gorgeous and beyond what I could have imagined it to be. Greg was great at communicating his schedule with me, especially when it came to choosing my allowances.
