Whole shop is a vibe. The atmosphere, the staff, everything. Tunes stay lit, they have a fire Playlist. The shop is very clean and well organized. Whoever did the decor knew exactly what they were doing. Its a nice sleek esthetic. We did a walk in and they took us right away. There were 3 of us. You sign the waiver, give your ID and then youre on your way. Really just a cool bunch of ppl. Make sure you stop in or check them out on IG or their website. I don't usually leave reviews like this, but my experience with Timeless Ink was bad enough that I feel obligated to warn others. It's actually taken me almost a year to even write this review, but the experience was negative enough that it still stands out. The biggest issue was the artist, Red. The interaction felt extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. Instead of listening to what I wanted, he became emotional and tried to pressure me into getting a tattoo design I clearly said I did NOT want. At no point should a client feel pushed or manipulated into something permanent, and that's exactly how this felt. The quality of the tattoo itself was also disappointing and not what was discussed. This is something I now have to live with, and I regret choosing this shop. On top of that, there was an issue with my deposit. I was told there was no record of it, even though I had proof of payment. That situation alone raised serious concerns about how they handle customers and their money. To make matters worse, the pricing is extremely high for the level of service and quality provided. In my experience, it was absolutely not worth what I was charged. The overall environment felt unprofessional. The experience did not inspire confidence, and based on what I saw, I would strongly recommend people think twice before booking here. I've been a client of Timeless Ink for nearly 15 years and have over 100 tattoos, many done by artists at this shop. Because of that long history, it's disappointing to have to write this review. I worked with Red for several weeks on a tattoo concept and repeatedly explained what I did not want permanently tattooed. Despite that, the designs continued to conflict with those instructions, and I was never asked to approve a final design before the appointment. I still showed up and ended up getting a separate small word tattoo to avoid conflict, but the main design for the appointment was never finalized or approved. When I later asked to simply reschedule so the design could be refined, I was told my $100 deposit would be forfeited under "policy." I reached out to the shop owner, Tuyen, hoping the situation could be handled from a management standpoint, but I was told to deal with the artist directly. When I asked for proof that the deposit had supposedly been applied elsewhere, none was provided. After many years as a loyal client, it's unfortunate that a situation this small was handled this way. read more

This was my first tattoo so I was really nervous to begin with, but Juan put me at ease. He's super nice and friendly and cares about his clients! My best friend and I wanted matching tattoos and Juan was very attentive and sent over his sketches to give us a look at the process. We had ideas on what we wanted and where we wanted this placed, but we pretty much let Juan and his creativity take over and it was the best decision!!! Juan is super easy to work with and super clean. He got back to us whenever we had a question or regarding the progress almost immediately. He encouraged us to take breaks as needed which was really helpful as this was my first time and my best friends second tattoo. (Her first tattoo was by him as well) He also goes in depth on the after care as well which was really helpful for me. I've been getting compliments on this since the day I left the shop. Great work. I got my first tattoo, which is the rose, in January 2019 and January 2020 I got my second tattoo, which is the butterfly. Both of my tattoos were done by Juan! He was very professional, patient, and had positive vibes and energy in his tattooing studio. My first time, I was very nervous and was afraid of the pain, but Juan made sure that it wouldn't be a problem by playing some relaxing music and had great conversations. My second time was a breeze for me. However, since it was a matching tattoo with my best friend (her first time) she was also nervous. Juan also made sure she felt relaxed by playing music, talking, and added small breaks if she was in pain. Throughout both processes of deciding what tattoo I wanted or wanted to get a matching tattoo of, Juan was able to through out ideas and when the final decision was made, he sent sketches of his plan and included the details! He never delayed his messages and if he didn't have an answer right away, he would say he would get back to me instead of just brushing the question off. The atmosphere of the shop was welcoming and everyone was very nice. They sell merchandise, like shirts and hats! I would recommend even stopping by to check out the place or look through the books that are placed in the front. I have seen alot of good tattoos come from this business which is why I went here originally to start my sleeve about a year ago and I had Sara for my artist. The entire experience was uncomfortable and underwhelming as she had an intern do the placement which was not even and lopsided. Looking back I wish I would have just left before tattooing. We are working on a whole arm sleeve and it's been a lengthy process from the vision, to the outlines, to the placement, to the stencils, and soon the colors. I have just started a half sleeve here with Chan. He was awesome in the consult and was able to help me visualize the pieces I wanted. I was a little nervous because Chan has been tattooing for about 3 yrs. That nervousness faded quickly after he started the compass on my shoulder. His attention to detail is amazing. I also got a mountain scape on my shoulder which turned out better than I imagined. I was also late to both appointments by about 15-20 min. I called and let them know and the staff was super polite and professional assuring me it was all good. I only have a year left till I move out of MA and will miss being able to get tatted here. So, a few months later: Many people have looked at the tattoo. All have said it doesn't compare to the actual print. I'm totally going to remove it by laser. It's too important to me to have a big, black blemish above my heart. It also looks pretty old at this point, ink faded where his name was written. Thanks, Timeless. And more months after that: Yelp informs me on the impact of this review. I want to add that since Timeless never reached out, the artist did post something on his Instagram the day after I posted the review here. I have had 2 tattoos here done by Vin. One was simple lettering, another that required 4 appointments and lots of artwork and shading, which he did freehand. He did a great job on both! Vin is very enthusiastic, creative, and it definitely comes across that he loves his job. I would absolutely recommend him to a friend. And fyi one of his specialties is Asian art. I have a friend who has gotten tattoos from both TJ and Tuyen here, and she has been very happy with her results. Can't lose with these guys! Be careful with parking...there is plenty of free parking on the street across from them that leads into the Charlestown Lofts. there may be some great artists here but not such great people all around. They completely robbed my friend. He waited three months for an appointment and after PAYING THE DEPOSIT they lied and said he called and canceled which he NEVER DID! He asked for the deposit back and they said " no refunds" STOLE HIS MONEY... completely hustled him! The way they went about this was completely dirty just like their shop. DPH is looking into this place I guess. But if you do get a tattoo here they give you a bonus ! Its called hepatitis c maybe b depending on who was before you! There's plenty of great artists out there that care about their clients not just the dollar. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else ! read more

So I booked a tattoo with Jason 3 months ago . They required a $100 deposit which caught me a bit off guard but I complied . It says you need to make a 48 hour notice to not lose your deposit. Ok I get it . So I have been ill for 6 weeks with the flu as I have diabetes and I do not heal well. I was not thinking about my tatoo while I was sick in bed . I called them about 38 hours before to tell them I was ill and need to move the date out to Jan 2020, not asking for a refund just moving it out to GIVE them my money 2 months later . The long and short of it was Jason in his ultimate wisdom told me the written rule which i knew , he did not even consider my diabetic issue , and of course i got pissed off . Any way this is who this guy is I thought you should know . I was wrong by 10 hours , he was wrong by a mile . read more

So I give this place 2 stars not because they are bad artists but only because I feel like I got ripped off on a tat. I had a great artist do the piece, had a great convo with him and he did an excellent job, but charged me $160 for an easily $80 tat. All I Got was 3 small words on my chest. The whole payment process for tattoos is foreign to me, but I've got another tat bigger than this and it cost $70 less! I fully realize the shops got their rules and stuff but man, I would have gone somewhere else if I knew this would cost so much for such a small tattoo. read more

My experience at this shop was horrible, I got a sleeve done here about 7 months ago. I can't speak for all of the artists but my particular artist, Jason, did not do a good job on my tattoo whatsoever and for their expensive $150/hr rate, any tattoo you get at this shop should be perfect. I'm not sure if Jason just agreed to do the tattoo even though it wasn't his area of expertise (galaxy/space theme) or if he just felt uninterested during my sessions, whatever the case may be, the quality of work and the end result was not acceptable. I fortunately found a new shop where the tattoo artist worked with me to fix my tattoo up until I was happy with it and right away I could tell a night and day difference in the quality of work. It's extremely aggravating having to pay for a sleeve twice but I am just fortunate that I found an artist that was willing to work with me until I was satisfied with what I got. I would never go here again and I'm always sure to tell others interested in getting a tattoo to steer clear. The touch ups I'm getting done at the new shop aren't finished yet but you can already tell a huge difference in the quality of work. Take my advice and save your money and go to another shop. read more

This shop gave me my worst experience for my first tattoo. I started getting my piece late February, the piece was a forearm tattoo and come late April I had only finished half of my tattoo I had been to 2 appointments one full 8 hour sitting and another 4 hour sitting I spent 1,300$ and had an unfinished first piece. Then for my 3rd appointment I woke up late because I worked an overnight the night before and my appointment was at 12 pm and I woke up at 2pm and I called the shop immediately and I apologized and I was treated extremely rudely by the secretary but not only that I was falsely accused of missing an appointment from a previous date that I was never informed that I was booked for and on top of that they took my safety deposit of 100$ and told me I had to put down another safety deposit and would have to get back on a wait list until October... terrible service and overhyped work. My artist was Mike Coleman I do not recommend this shop based on my experience!!! read more

Plain and simple, horrible business practices I made an appointment almost a month ago that was for today at 12:00 noon with the artist Chan Which also happens to be the time that the shop opens. I looked online because I realise I've forgotten my appointment time and saw that the shop open at 12 so I decided to call the soonest that I could after 12 which I did, I called at 12:20 and I wasn't sure of my appointment time so I proceeded to ask the representative or shop apprenticeIf they could look up my appointment time for me she told me it was 12 o'clock and then I was now late for my appointment that was scheduled for eight hours mind you, and also of which I put down $100 for a deposit, so I understand that there is a no refund policy on deposits but that is clearly to protect the artist and situation that the client feels to show up or gives in for sufficient time to reschedule, both of which I did not do I called simply 20 minutes late to enquire about the time and ask if I can show up at 12:30 or at 1 o'clock and they put me on hold and then told me that I can't do that because they already rescheduled other people into my slot and I will be for filling my $100Instead of just actually being decent people and trying to fit me in they just auto responded with "non refundable" as if I was talking to a bunch of morally poor people.. so that is a clear message to anyone and thinking to book appointments with them if you're a busy person most likely those who can afford pricey tattoos then just know if you set an appointment and you're running late they will not accommodate you they will not give you a heads up call they will do nothing on their part to try and help it move smoothly they will only take your money and expect that you are there the moment they open the shop if not then your money is wasted by experience in this I can assume that dealing with them is not a very honest or straightforward experience as also cited in other reviews.. apologies for the run-on sentences and typos as I am currently dictating to text while going about the city looking for a better shop with a moral foundation of any level... as would be more than this place.. I was told that I would get a call back from the owner yet it has been hours since that time and no word at all, if you're looking to deal with professionals I'm sure they do their job well but for this incident it was very unprofessional and predatorial in business practices if you value moral Business values and businesses that you choose to support I would advise looking elsewhere before coming here..I hope they do better. read more
