They are as bad or worse than AT&T. I switched to them after dealing with AT&T for 6 years and having to renegotiate my rate every year. When I switched, I paid $152 a month for cable and Wi-Fi. One year later, it went to $184, and looking at my bill, it is scheduled to increase by at least $45 next March. So much for their $49 cable and $49 internet advertisements. Just like direct tv, every time a storm comes through, you lose service. I'm looking for internet service currently, and alternative entertainment options. By the way, I was paying $172 monthly from AT&T before I switched. They both suck you in with offers and then stick it to you later. read more

What they Don't yell you is there is an additional charge for the box, a $16.45 broadcast TV surcharge then taxes, franchise fees and an admin fee. I'm a business class internet customer. So far, I've had several outages in the last 30 days. When I called business tech support I was told "Oh, we're doing maintenance." So, Spectrum does not let their business tier customers know ahead of time that there will be a service interruption. I inquired why they did not notify and was told "we don't have the manpower to notify our customers..." Outages cost money. Buyer beware. The actual cost of their service will be their monthly fee PLUS whatever you lose in revenue from their outages. Spectrum Business Class gets a big fat single star. read more

I just moved to the area and set up service with them. After 2 hours on the phone I was quoted 1 price before taxes and fees. After set up they did not give me all the channels I requested, upon calling and speaking to 6 people, they finally fixed it. Then the bill comes and it's $35 more per month before taxes and fees. I called again, after 5 more people spoke to me the final person said that the price they give customers is never the real price and I should just cancel. I have had quite a few cable companies but this one ignores the interruptions in their service. I had a service person who didn't seem to properly set up my service so when I wanted a second box, the improper way he set it up prevented the customer service person from assisting me telephonically. After hurricane Dorian, my service to one TV was interrupted but because I left the box plugged in, I was charged for the service. I packed that box up and returned it today. Seems there is no other cable/internet in the area to choose from. I did recently learn to get internet only from them then use my smart tv to get TV programs with cheaper providers. I called Spectrum on 8/13/19 to discontinue service at my mother's home on 9/15/19. The customer service representative was very nice and setup service to turn off on 9/13/19. I received a call that evening from my sister who was at my mother's house that service had been disconnected. My sister called Spectrum on 8/13/19 and they said they couldn't do anything and tried to setup a new account for her. She never confirmed that she wanted the account and hung up the phone after waiting for over 5 minutes for someone to verify the account. I called Spectrum on 8/14/19, they agreed that a mistake had been made but stated that their system did not allow for scheduling of future cutoff dates so they went ahead and cutoff service on 8/13/19. Additionally, they said that my sister had setup new service even though no date for an installation had been set and she did not approve of the service. Both of these items are deceptive business practices. The final straw was that they then said that since my Mom wasn't alive to restart the service, they couldn't restart it and even though I was the personal representative of the estate, I wasn't authorized to restart a service that they incorrectly discontinued. Interestingly, I apparently had the authority to discontinue service! Spectrum made 2 mistakes, acknowledged the mistakes, and refused to correct the mistakes. Save your money or at least invest it in a better company with better service. We've only had them for a couple of months and already we've had issues not only with our bill but the cable itself. From missing channels to blacked out or scrambled channels we pay for! Not to mention "on demand" which is a complete joke. The episodes are random and don't update or if they are updated, those same new episodes can disappear the next day. We also have to reboot our box at least once a day!! I am so freaking excited about cutting the Cable cord this month. When I first moved to Summerville, I had AT&T Uverse, but when I bought my house the only cable/internet available was TWC, and it was cost prohibitive to just do the internet. I had the first year deal that they offer to new customers. At the end of that first year, my bill jumped $60. OUCH. I called to see what TWC could do for me, and not only was I told they could nothing, they were pretty rude about it. So, I've been laying in wait for about six months. We finally have AT&T in my hood. I called TWC to cancel and they suddenly had deals to offer me. SURPRISE - say goodbye and they are a little less rude. Their deal was still more than I was willing to pay, and i have sort of long memory when I'm treated poorly. AT&T internet is being installed at my place on February 13th, and Happy Valentine's Day to me because I'm going to be calling TWC and saying adios on February 14th. The technicians who came out to install my cable and internet equipment were amazing. They were super nice and helpful. I had to have the cable box replaced six month after installation, and the second technician was equally helpful. Beyond these folks at TWC, I have been met with resistance and poor customer service. I understand why TWC is merging with Charter, and why their market is so limited. I have my own set of problems with AT&T, and honestly, I think all cable companies have problems, but I think TWC has mastered the art of being inept at customer service. Unless you have no other options in your home, I would skip TWC and find another provider. It may not be today; it may not be tomorrow; but, at some point you will get screwed by TWC. read more

The staff here were friendly and helpful. The mark downs are for the company that claims they have the best service for internet, cable, and phone. Find it really sad that their best package only consist of 60mb down and 5 up when other companies are hitting the 100mb down and atleast 10mb up within the same price range. Have had services Since Dec 2015. I have been told the tap and/or main Line needed to be replaced. I have had ongoing loss of quality signal on both tv/internet. Tv tiling, freezing, loss of picture, audio issues, not being able to use ondemand at times or it delaying. My speed of Internet I pay for which is suppose to second highest speed reaches that speed only once and a blue moon or for second then drops off. I have tons of lag. I cant do any online gaming if I wanted constantly kicking me off and needing to reconnected or just to slow. WOW... is all I can say I dont believe Paul Allen would be proud to own Stock in my the service quality I receive. It saddens me this just is not a company That I knew Charter to be. Yes for me its been 7 months since last service call. However, I was told it was gonna take a bit. I was given Gary Welsh the tech supervisor # for followup. In the last 2 months if that 7 months I have called no answer only voicemail. I have left 2 detailed messages. No return phone call. I called to ask the rep if she could request they put in a ticket for this to be followed up on locally? After she had tried to contact herself Mr. Welsh and wasnt able to she said she wasnt able to. I would need to setup need a appointment for a trouble call. I then requested A supervisor whom I attempted to explain to but was just dead set that I needed a trpuble call as well. I tried explaining that while I understand it had been awhile he wasnt hearing I was asking for a call to be made to me about it locally. After my husband told them repeatedly that our home was 900 feet off the main road they still insisted we were eligible for service so instead of sending a tech out to confirm they wanted him to pay so he did the tech came out told me it wasn't worth the time or money for Spectrum to run the wire that we would have to pay a contractor to come run it I promp said no thank you we're not interested & definitely aren't going to pay a contract to run 500 feet of cable. Hv had TW for years but decided to downgrade my channels. What I thought and requested 175 but turned out to be 125. When I called back and asked to go back to my original they said they couldn't. They were suppose to wait until 5/27 but downgraded within an hour after I called. She was helpful and nice until about 48 minutes into the conversation when the things she was telling me to do did not work. At this point it somehow became my fault and she pretty much implied that I was stupid. I let her know that I had no more questions and hung up the phone. Is there a way to give this zero stars? This is, without a doubt, the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced from a "professional" company in my entire life. Not only do half of their employees barely speak English, they don't care at all about their customers. They have continually attempted to charge an inactive bank account of mine without permission and because that account is inactive, we have incurred roughly $200.00 in overdraft/returned check fees. When attempting to fix this issue, I was told by a customer service agent that I was wrong and the issue couldn't be fixed because he didn't know what the problem was. This company has robbed us of hundreds of dollars, refuses to pay us back and has the absolute worst customer service of any company I've ever used. PLEASE do not use Time Warner. Nothing but a headache and they do not care at all about their customers. DirectTV, Comcast, WOW, etc are all FAR better. EDIT: Well, well, well...here I am 8 months later and felt it was necessary to again warn potential customers of how TERRIBLE this company is. The amount of stress, inconvenience, lost time and money that this JOKE of a company has caused me is unbelievable. My husband ordered the Baseball package and was given a "defective" box. Every time he wants to watch baseball, we have to call and get the box reset. This is not a cheap package, so we asked to get compensated on our next bill. We were told we wouldn't be charged on the next bill but OH YES, you guessed it, we were charged full price for a channel we cannot even watch. Me and my husband have been on the phone every single day of this week for about two hours each time trying to get issues resolved. One "customer service" agent says one thing, but the next says something completely different. Now, because they do not have the slightest idea how to run a company or keep notes, our credit is being affected because of late charges for a subscription we can't even watch. Fast forward to today, we had a technician rewire our cable and provide us with another "working" box (we've gone through 4 boxes now). Everything seemed to shockingly be good until I walked into my front yard. There is a gigantic black cable cord running down the middle of my lawn which makes it not only an eye-sore, but it is impossible to mow around. When I called AGAIN for the 7th time this week, I was told someone would show up in two days to bury the cable. Knowing their track record for not keeping notes, my husband called to confirm the appointment. What do you know, nothing was confirmed and the employee had no idea what he was talking about. If this doesn't dissuade you from dealing with this horrendous company, they have also raised our bill by $50.00 after a year. That brings our grand total to $180.00 per month for cable that doesn't work and internet that needs to be reset every single day. We are canceling and just using Netflix from now on. TimeWarner, you fail as a company. Your business practices are disgusting and I hope you lose every single customer you have ever had. I have been dissatisfied with Time Warner Cable for approximately 8 months due to intermittent service. I have had techs streaming in and out of my house, techs on the phone instructing me how to troubleshoot "their" equipment and then being chastised when they don't get the results they wish to get. I have stood on my head and spit gold quarters while paying $140+ a month for this lousy service. The customer service is an insult to the intelligence of the consumer. The employees have to take courses in nastiness. They will belittle the customer and if that doesn't work they will try to intimidate you. After a year of extremely poor service to poor service our bill increased. When I called to try to negotiate a status quo rate until we got reliable service, I was told I was in no position to negotiate. They don't negotiate with current customers and current customers cannot change their plans. I got message through my cell phone service (evidently my TWC phone service is not working again) from Joe Ryan at the Old Trolley Store telling me he had changed my plan. He had increased my internet speed and added Starz. He left me a phone number that is not in service 843-555-9823. I didn't want faster internet, nor did I want premium channels. I just want a working, reliable service. Then, and this is rich, I get a phone survey, asking me to rate my visit to the Old Trolley Store!!!! I have never stepped foot in that store. I had time warner service and equipment and was contacted by mail and phone about doubling my internet speed for the same price I was currently paying, they checked remotely and informed me (incorrectly) that my current equipment was unable to handle 100mb, even after I pointed out it was capable of 300+mb, I drove to the Trolly rd store and was given a huge shrink wrapped older modem/router combo. I informed the salesperson that this was refurbished equipment and was told repeatedly it was brand new, I then asked why they would pull a new item from a bar coded box and shrink wrap it with obvious signs of glue on it. I reluctantly took it and hooked it up, I was expecting 100+mb speeds, I got 6mb and a max of 9mb, I called they sent a signal to the box and scheduled an appointment, the tech went through the motions and left without resolving the issues, the 3rd tech walked in and said the old refurbished modem was the issue and opened a box with a new modem and a box with a router, problem solved. I called back and was told because it was 3 months with internet issues and the deleted my plan and channels without informing me, they would be crediting my account $119.00. After talking to 9 supervisors who all said they were waiting for final approval, the 10th supervisor said the amount was too much and was disapproved. I got sick of arguing with morons, one actually told me to get fast internet in my other rooms to drag my equipment into the living room and plug into the modem, she should be eating crayons in a corner not answering tech calls. Promotion ended and price of my cable doubled. My cable service is relatively steady, but the internet does fade in and out unless you pay the $10 upgrade monthly fee. Plus, be aware, they have no service in place to block harassing phone calls from credit card companies, but for an additional $3.75 per month, TWC can list your number as private. So, I get to pay an additional $3.75 per month to ensure that I don't receive calls at 2AM. read more

I have been with Time Warner, now Spectrum, for over a decade... actually close to 2. In all the time I've never had any major issues and and issues I did have were resolved in a timely manner. Today I have no TV and no internet. After 3 hours on chat and the phone with 5 different people, I found I have to wait 2 days for a service tech. I was told that techs are only available 8-4 on weekends and they do not have on call techs. I feel this is quite unacceptable, especially knowing my past experiences with Time Warner. I'm so disappointed that I have made the decision to get a Roku, sign up for Sling Tv and look for alternate internet service. Worse than Comcast! If you have the option use any other service provider. I signed up and was given my equipment to take home, connect, and activate. I tried activating and my phone number wasn't recognized. After talking to the agent for 20+ minutes I discovered that the agent that set up my account spelled my name wrong, didn't put in an e-mail address which was required and didn't have me set up a PIN. Finally after getting my modem activated all I had to do was wait for them to go to the box and activate my service within 24 hours. Once 24 hours had passed I still had no internet connection. After an hour on the phone with another agent I was told that he set up an appointment for a technician to come out 4 days away and that the dispatch department would contact me within 90 minutes. 15 minutes later I get a call from an agent in Milwaukee which is a problem since I live in SC. Didn't hear from them again that night at all. Now I have to wait until the morning when they're open to call again and try to get the service they're supposed to be providing that I am paying for and not receiving. read more
