Had to go into the store to exchange my box and remote. Upon entering, Christopher, whom I've never met, looks at me and says, "ugh what do you want?" He clearly thinks he's hilarious, but I'm not in the mood to joke, I've been struggling with this box for over a week. I start to explain and he interrupts me to grab my remote and take it from me in case I pressed it and changed one of their channels by accident. Ok. So I launch into why I'm there. Lots of eye rolling later and he gets me a box but then asks what kind of remote I had because he didn't look before he tossed mine. I get home, follow the directions for the set up and...now nothing works. I call spectrum and Christopher didn't update my account so they can't find the box to activate it! Time Warner sucks. Big Time. Rather than go into the entire story, I'll just give the highlights: discovered that I have been charged $4.99 a month for an unlisted number, a number which I don't even know what it is, don't use it, never asked for it... AND would never have asked for an unlisted number for a number I didn't know existed! Spent over 30 minutes on THAT call (with two different "customer service" people). Was then transferred to a service person because I wanted to downgrade my service. Guess what? It costs $50 a month MORE if you want to downgrade. WTH? I will get LESS for MORE??? Um, no thanks. The second call lasted 9 minutes until I just hung up on her after saying "fine, I'll keep your BS service until I disconnect completely". read more

Went to Lee for a new Spectrum phone. Didn't have. Called Pittsfield. They held phone for me. We went to Pittsfield. Jim F. helped us with new phone. Set up from my OLD phone. He was patient, professional and extremely knowledgeable. Would make the trip again from CT for the exceptional service. Thank you. A very happy customer. I wouldn't even give One rating if I could. You MIGHT be able to get service at the local store but forget about the 800 number. They hire doofus people who have no idea what they are doing and try to blame the customer for their own ignorance. They messed up a line line transfer and they claimed it was a wireless - what? Dating back to 1970? Then they further insulted me by claiming that it could not be porting to another geographical location. I'm calling at the same address people. They tried to blame it on ATT who were having none of it also. I would love to sue them for about 10 million. That's how much garbage I've had to deal with. read more

If i could rate them 0 stars i would.... By far the worst company! Terrible customer service, terrible service period. They advertise no more wait ....yet 3 hours 15 minutes over two days with no resolution. Maybe they should spend less money advertising what they don't have and invest it in their employees. All together its been 3 years of going back and forth until they talked us into upgrading our internet and cable. After we upgraded we could only find HBO on one box not 3. So we called to resolve that problem and told them about how slow and disruptive our internet was. They sent us a new router and said when we upgraded three months ago we should have had a router that would work with the upgrade.... We tried setting the new router up and that brings us to date! We spent 3 hours 15 minutes with no resolution. read more

Horribly overpriced cable service. When I tried to get a cheaper rate, they told me I had to change my phone number!

So, we have to get tv boxes. Ridiculous that we have to rent boxes for every tv see the programs we are already paying to see.... They offered to send me 2 boxes free for 2 years. OK, came in 2 days. The boxes only connect with an HDMI Cable to the TV. There are no instructions regarding the box. Says that if you need to connect in line with a DVD player etc. go to their website. Click on the link to that page, no information at all about connecting other equipment. After finding the question in the FAQ area it says to go to the receiver manual. Found that, opened the manual, no information on connecting other equipment in line with the receiver at all. One of my TV's has a digital receiver but no HDMI Connection. only the Coax. Check receiver FAQ, it says I need a receiver with a Coax output. Called the "local " number for the Spectrum business in town and got the national don't know don't care help center who had no idea if they had a coax out put receiver and said I would need to contact the local TWC Spectrum etc. office. Great, I asked for their phone #. "There is no direct number" you just have to go there! Really, I need to drive for 20 minutes to ask a question. Frustrated but went there, so did 50 other equally unhappy people. Wait time about 3 hours! just to get an answer to a question that should have been able to be answered by the home office. Needless to say, didn't have 3 hours to stand in line to ask one question, I have to work for a living, something that people at Spectrum / Un-Helpful customer service don't seem to ever do. Oh did I mention they made this announcement 2 weeks before they were going to shut off all programming to your home unless you bought their (can't use anyone else's) receivers. Best example ever of how to lose friends and customers. read more

Absolutely terrible customer service if I could give zero stars I would. I have spent over 5 hours on hold with issues and I have had my cable for 4 days... The sales rep who signed me up told me that I would be receiving a 150 dollar amazon.com gift card and she never gave me any instructions on how to activate it other than saying I would be getting an email about it. When I called to try to figure out how to access it because I had not gotten an email they told me that I was not eligible and that they were not even aware of a amazon.com gift card ever being offered and they also told me that they couldnt do anything about it. I told them to please review the conversation I had with the sales representative and give me a call back when they realized I was right with a solution for the time I wasted trying to track down something that does not exist. Today I realized that I had not yet received a bill and that I better sign up online and set up payments. Well you apparently need a customer code that you can only get from a bill and now I have been on hold for 40 minutes once again just to get a code so I can actually pay them. 3d and final issue SO far is they are saying my bill is due the 20th and I only got my cable installed on the 8th. Does anyone else find it a bit weird that any company would set your due date for a bill only 12 days after you got service.. If i had any other option I would switch they are lucky they have no other competition. read more

Horrible customer service. Long story short. been back and forth at TWC to exchange boxes that stop working. Never wanted to use their DVR I love TIVO, but still can't figure out how to use it with the TWC hook up. it has worked in the past at a different address with TWC. So not helpful. I've been a customer of TimeWarner since 1982. This used to be a good company to do business with but has gone way down hill over the past 10 years. Bills are 25 times higher than they were in 1982 and income certainly hasn't increased by that much. Customer service is horrible. The company keeps adding on more fees and charging more for everything. Customers who have been loyal for over 30 years are never offered special pricing for their loyalty even when they have suffered an income loss and are having trouble paying their astronomical bills. If we had another option for service in our area we would be history! read more

Customer service needs some serious improvement. I recieved a notice on my door saying please call this number before making a payment to reactivate my service. I called friday morning at 9:30 AM. Left a message and was called back by someone named Chris who told me he was going to come and hook my service back up. When i had told them I do not want it disconnected I would make a payment that friday. Yet they disconnected it anyways. He told me he was in NY and I would be first on his list and he would be here by 12. Well 12:30 rolls around and I call no answer, I call three more times no answer it is now 2pm. Finally he calls back to say öh you dont have to be at the house when i come Ill be there soon you can leave" Well if I didnt need to be here why didnt he tell me that in the first place. So at 4:30PM he finally calls to say my service is restored. When I call to complain a woman answers the phone takes my information and asks me to hold. I am then transferred to someone else. Never once did she say im going to transfer you. I understand people are busy but please have some respect for your customers if your going to be 4.5 hours late a phone call is not that hard. Im switching services at the end of the month. read more
