Have to give them negative rating due to bait and switch on price I was given for a basic maintenance service. Ed increased the price after my bike was in the shop after we agreed on price. I came in for a valve check or possible adjustment after getting multiple price costs from other shops. Other shops told me about the same prices Ed told me at around 3 hours of labor for check and extra hour added for adjustment. Me and Ed agreed to 3 hours labor. I took my motorcycle all the way down about 40 miles to his shop. Two days later he called me and told me it was 6 hours of labor instead of the 3 hours labor we agreed on. He said because they guy took a longer time to get to the valves. (Ummm ok, Everyone quotes this at about 3 hours labor, it is not my fault the guy took twice as long to do it). After coming down to pick up my bike, i told him i was unhappy that he doubled the cost after we agreed on price , and also he never called to tell me it would be more and ask. He said he will work with me and take off ONLY ONE HOUR LABOR LOL. So he added on 2 hours labor for no reason and didn't ask me and told me he's "working with me" to reduce costs lol. I should have gone to the other bike shops. I will never return. On top of that, i made an appointment 3 weeks in advance to drop it off on a certain day so that i had transportation to pick it up the next day. The next day i was in route to pick it up and they said it wouldn't be ready that day. (So what was the point of me scheduling 3 weeks in advance?! LOL). It was a big burden on my and my schedule to pick up the following day. ON TOP OF THAT, after i got my bike home and parked it i noticed a screw jammed completely into my rear tire. It wasn't there before taking to his shop, i know because i worked on it a few days prior and haven't driven except to she shop since. Its highly unlikely i got a screw in the tire from the highway driving there and back, more likely it was a screw laying on the floor of his shop. OFCOURSE he didn't take responsibility and instead blamed it on the highway home. Save yourself the headache. He will bait you in with one price, then change it without telling you to put more of your hard earned cash into his pocket. It is unjust. Turned 3 hours of labor into 6 lol. read more

I rarely submit a review but this one is a must!!!Bottom line up front....take your motorcycle somewhere else! Do NOT leave your motorcycle at this facility; it's dirty and the owner/workers are inexperienced and unprofessional. I had three simple things that I needed done: install Kuryakyn brake, secure Corbin seat w/driver and passenger backrest, and install luggage rack. After seven days they managed to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that I my motorcycle was there for. At day four I just happened to pop in and immediately noticed my Corbin seat was now ripped! Of course Ed (owner) doesn't want to take responsibility of the damaged seat. Instead he points out damage to the bike in the vicinity of the seat where the tear is. If the damage was a result of the damage bike then the seat would have ripped days before. My argument is.... my motorcycle was there to have my seat secured, why the hell is your worker riding the bike with the seat just sitting on my frame, the friction alone is likely what caused the rip/tear. Owners that operate shops in this manner will have their day. Check the reviews people!!! I ignored the bad reviews because I thought, these are three simple things that any decent mechanic could do. Very accommodating shop. We had a schedule change that allowed me to drop our ATV off almost immediately, they accommodated us and took the ATV. Started work on it immediately the day after and did as requested, even as far as to give the ATV a good look over to make sure nothing else would need work. Communication is a bit lacking, but when speaking to multiple individuals it can be expected that there will be some confusion/conflicting information. The ATV was initially deemed ready, but as they went over the list with my husband they realized they'd forgotten to address the brake issue. A day delay, but not a big deal. Will happily return for routine service of our ATV's and Motorcycle's without question. read more

SCAM SHOP! Took my bike there, got a reasonable price for the work, 3 days later after work was underway, Ed (owner) steps in and says it would be considerably more $$$. Of course they wait until my bike is completely apart, he threatens me that my bike parts may break and I'd have to pay for it. IT WAS A SIMPLE SET OF FOG LIGHTS and they wanted to charge more than 3 hrs of labor. Ed got made that I didn't want to pay additional labor, so g HS e told me to get my bike out of shop ASAP. Then refused to give me a receipt or note that they had dismantled my bike. Very unprofessional. Multiple people worked on my bike, seems like they were not as confident to do the work as they should have been. I would advise to stick to a dealership where there are professionals if you care about your bike. Oh yeah, he threatened to charge me storage for my bike for the days the bike was there if I took him to court. Dumb move! read more

This shop has gone above and beyond for me and my Indian chieftain. From inspection to tire installation, nothing but good things to say about their staff. On a rebuild I'm doing on a 1981 Suzuki GS 450L I needed to have the swing arm bearings removed (thought I could do it...easy enough right, but the needle bearing outer casings WOULD NOT budge, needle bearings all over my garage....lol) took the swing arm to Ed on a Saturday and an hour later (he was busy with another bike at the moment and this project ain't in any hurry so all good) the bearing casings were gone, the price was low and now I'm one step closer on my rebuild. read more

I have a 1977 CB 750j. It came from a field where it remained for several years. Eddie and his staff were outstanding. They rebuilt this bike from top to bottom, the engine, all 4 carbs, wiring, brakes, exhaust system. The tank on the bike was sent to Pennsylvania where it was restored. Once it was all put back together they even sent it to a local paint shop for the new paint job. An excellent motorcycle shop. What I especially liked about them is their honesty. I would not take my bikes to any other place. My grandson now takes his two bikes there for all maintenance. There is no other motorcycle shop for me but Time To Ride. read more

Was looking for a better place to take my bike and not get ripped off. I found this place and was really impressed!! I went to get a new carburetor, they not only found that I didn't need a new carb and fixed my bike for way cheaper BUT THEY FIXED MY CRUSE CONTROL, MY HIGHWAY PEGS, AND FIXED MY FUEL FILTER, all without question and charging me. My alternator went bad the other day and they gave me a bunch of options and fixed it 3 days, and that includes my alternator being mailed for Florida. Time to Ride is the BEST motorcycle repair shop I have ever come across. Time to Ride corrected the problem I had with my 1986 Goldwing. I had taken my Goldwing to Hand Made Cycles in Stafford, VA because I was having problems with what I thought was my clutch. I had the bike towed and Hand Made kept it for a week before calling me and telling me that it needed a clutch and it would cost me $1,100 in labor, plus parts. I knew this was high, and declined. The owner told me that he got the bike running enough to make it from Stafford to Culpeper, where I live. I made it two miles. Then had my bike towed to Time to Ride in Fredericksburg. Having been told that I needed a clutch, I started shopping around for the parts and found them. I informed the person I worked with (Mike) at Time to Ride that I had purchased the parts and just needed an address to ship them to. Mike suggested that I cancel the order and get my money back. Then he suggested that we bleed the clutch first because they had a special way of bleeding it. I told him that the other guy did that and it didn't work. He insisted that we try that first and so I did. Guess what... problem solved. Or so I thought. As I was riding away I felt the slippage again. So I took it back to the shop and although the owner Ed was about to leave, he stayed and checked the bike right away. He found that the line from the clutch master cylinder was clogged and proceeded to show me how to unclog it and told me to keep a kit in my bike so that if it happened again, just do the same thing, because the bike hadn't been ridden in so long. Time to Ride is the BEST SHOP that I have ever been to. They could have taken advantage of me, but they didn't. Instead they went above and beyond. Mike and Ed - they're my motorcycle guys now! I am a new rider, and while I am generally aspiring to perform my own basic maintenance, I decided that a tire replacement should be done by people who know what they're doing. My research for local shops brought me to Time To Ride, and I couldn't have hoped for a better experience. These gentlemen hustled to get me in same-day, and turned the job around quickly. They even offered to stay after-hours to get the job done on my timetable. Needless to say they exceeded my expectations for timeliness. They even took the time to explain the work they had done with some detail, and walked me through some things I could do to better maintain my ride. They didn't try to sell me on additional service (something I was leery of) and it was apparent that they took pride in their work. Unprofessional. Will never go back!!!!!! After taking my 1988 Yamaha warrior 350 in for a "no spark" issue... the guys gave me the run around, never called me or returned a call about the diagnostics of the bike until I had to show up multiple times to find out an answer. I finally got sick of waiting around for answer and went and picked up my bike. They wanted to charge me 200+ dollars when nothing had been done to the bike in the first place. Only thing they say they did was put a "ricks ignition coil" on the bike. I took the bike to a buddy of mine who has been in the small engine/atv world for many years. He then confirmed that the "Ricks ignition coil" was in fact a Chinese part, even verified it through pictures on ricks website and by calling them with a part number. I finally called time to ride to explain my issue and was told to "come down and see me" by the main manager/owner, in a threatening manner. I will be seeking other legal action to get what is owed and to make it clear that, this is NOT how you do business. Thank you for the complete lack of professionalism, I do appreciate it. read more

Called these folks after calling FBurg Motorsports. I had a dead battery for my Victory and just needed a new one. FMS was charging over twice as much for the basic service of getting a battery, installing and charging. I get that batteries can cost different amounts, but install alone from FMS was going to be $140 and Time to Ride charged just $39. Not only that, but the guys at T-t-R were friendly, informative, professional and laid back enough to make me want to go back again. Dropped off one day and picked up the next day. I took my bike here because I got a flat rear tire on the highway and they were able to get a new tire on it timely enough. However, when I went to pick it up the new tire was flat. I was assured that the technician didnt fill it with air enough, and before I left the tire pressure was adjusted to the proper amount. The next day, my tire pressure was less than half of what it should have been. I took my bike to another repair shop to address the issue and they took my tire off and showed me that Time To Ride had ripped the inner lining of the tire in an attempt to put it on, and caused a slow air leak. I wouldnt recommend Time To Ride because their quality of repair is negligent. read more

Bottom Line Up Front: I would not take anything to Time to Ride beyond a scooter, or two-stroke motorcycle/ATV. Prior to the following events, my bike ran fine for 5,000 miles. 3/13/2015: I brought 2011 Harley Davidson FXCWC Rocker C to Time to Ride for a service and to have a new rear tire installed for which I paid $523.78. During the service, they informed me that the pulley bolts were loose and two had fallen out, which they replaced. When I took the bike home, I noticed a "chip" on the downshift which is indicative of a loose belt. They asked me to bring the bike back in to check it and I informed them that I would be getting surgery on my wrist and would be off the bike for 8 to 10 weeks and would bring it back in following that. 7/6/2015: Shortly after my recovery time, I bought a 2015 Harley Davidson Street Glide and did not ride the Rocker C as I was breaking in the new bike. 7/24/15: I coordinated with Time to Ride to bring my Rocker C in, and took it for test ride prior to in order to isolate when the aforementioned "chip" was happening. Approximately 6 miles from my residence I noticed shifting of the rear of the bike and then a grinding noise emanating from the rear wheel. I immediately stopped the bike and called them. They responded and towed it to their shop. Ed informed me the following day that the rear brake disc had ground into the brake caliper bracket and that he would order a new bracket and correct the issue free of charge. He also told me that he would have a new Harley mechanic starting in two weeks who would look at it. I told him that I wasn't in a rush; I just wanted the error corrected and the bike safe to ride. When the new mechanic came on board, he discovered that the wheel spacers on the caliper side were not installed correctly and/or missing. He also spoke to the wheel manufacture (DNA Specialties, Compton, CA.) and believed that a pulley spacer was missing. I ordered the pulley spacer from DNA and new pulley bolts from you that Monday. Before the spacer arrived, the Harley mechanic quit and Time to Ride hired the mechanic who had originally installed the wheels prior to it being worked on by them. 9/2/2015: I stopped by to check on the bike and was informed by the new mechanic and another employee that somehow the spacers had not only been put back in incorrectly, but possibly an incorrectly sized one from shop stock as well and that they were cutting one down which would fit. In addition, it was determined that the pulley spacer I had purchased from DNA was not needed. 9/4/2015: I called Time to Ride and the mechanic informed me that the rear wheel was installed correctly and trued. However, when he would brake during a test ride, the rear axle would shift and it was determined that the OEM rear axle adjustment spacer (P/N: 41694-08) was missing. I also ordered this part and the left rear axle spacer (P/N: 41359-08) and right rear axle spacer (P/N: 41242-08). 9/8/2015: I emailed Ed at Time to Ride when I found out that the current mechanic working on my bike had quit. I also questioned him on his intent to charge me for correcting his shops error. I received no response. 9/10/2015: I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau against Time to Ride. I also emailed Ed and told him that I had ordered the OEM Spec axle and adjustment spacers, and new bearings as well. I suggested to Ed that he install them on the bike on that Saturday. I also told him that I didn't want the spacers he manufactured on the bike because I didn't trust them, and that after he test rode the bike and determine that he thought it was correct, I would like him to take it to Olde Towne Cycle to be checked out. This time, Ed called me and agreed. However, when I came in on Saturday, there was no mechanic available to work on the bike, and we agreed to push it to Tuesday. 9/14/2015: Ed, from Time to Ride called me in the morning and wanted to discuss me "helping him out" monetarily to which I told him "no" and reminded him that the bike had run fine before his shop serviced it. I also reminded him that he had denied replacing the rear wheel until I provided evidence that his shop had. Ed agreed that he had done the wheel swap and kept talking about a "hypothesis" as to what he thought the issue was. A short time later, he called me about the Better Business Bureau complaint. I informed him that I had filed it when he had not responded. He then told me that he wouldn't work on the bike unless I dropped it and that he felt he should charge me due to the possibility of me seeking monetary compensation for his shops error. At this point I had the bike towed to Olde Towne Cycle. In summary, my bike represents a $27,000.00 investment that I saved for while deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. I would not recommend bringing any bike, especially a Harley Davidson to Time to Ride. Due to their error, should the bike have experienced a catastrophic failure, the outcome would have been deadly. read more

This was my 1st time here and went strictly by a few online reviews about this place. It was a Saturday and I needed a new tire mounted on my rear rim. I met the owner, Ed and he was really down to earth kind of a guy. I told him that I was a little weary of having his machine scratch my chrome rim. He then prompted me to come see his tire machine in the back of his shop. He showed me the Teflon parts that would contact my rim and he even took the time to cut some microfiber cloths to further cover and pad the Teflon guides. While all of this was happening we continued to conversate about bikes. In my opinion, he went above and beyond customer service. I would definitely come back to his shop.
