I can never forget December 7 or 8,2024, when I bought a Yamaha classic Silverado 650 cc from great honest dealer Classic Iron, I paid cash amount round about $3500.00 to Ron sales manager, for this bike, I rode bike from from Frederisburg va to Fairfax city almost 60 miles, as they never let you have a test drive, so you simply trust them, I was assured by Ron and their mechanic bike is hundred percent ok ready to go, as it was getting late so I started riding bike to highway 95 North, as I am on highway I realized bikes rear brakes are almost zero, and then another horrible issue bike engine started cutting off on this main speedy highway, other drivers were honking at me because bike engine kept cutting off, by the time I reached Fairfax city, bike engine cut off at every traffic light, I t was a Gods miracle that I reached my home safe and sound, they claim for warranty for 1500 miles,that's a fraud, because next day, when I contacted Ron manager explained him my horrible story he said no issue nwe don't have towing service, bring your bike here at your own expanses, I was shocked, that if there is a warranty why I have to pay almost 300.00 dollars to towing company to tow bike to classic iron, i wonder how their mechanic passed safety inspection on my bike while it has zero rear brakes,and engine was continuosly cutting off, so guys be careful from these liars,thugs, first red flag is they don't let customer have a test drive, so be careful from this dealer ship, it's a scam, I wonder seeing positive reviews, may be these guys are their friends, or who ever, my experience was worst with this dealer ship buy ing Yamaha Silverado and it's my responsibility to share my experience with other people read more

I had the most amazing experience in the Wheels Up BRC for my motorcycle license which I successfully obtained. My very knowledgeable, patient. Skilled, and entertaining but very serious instructor, Ron, adjusted his assistance to your skill level. So, although it was a small manageable class of six, my instruction was very individualized. He took his time with each of us. He never rushed anyone. This was great for me. I was a true beginner. The first time I mounted a bike was this class. I am shocked. I can ride a motorcycle yall! Big shout out to Paul who came over to assist right before our "Celebration of Skills" (The Test, Ron doesn't like that word. It makes students nervous. Well, Celebration of Skills causes me to lack them) I flunked my first attempt at Skills I mastered for two days. Ron and Paul gave me the option to retake after the class was dismissed after some relaxation. Well, it began to pour. Those two men stood in the pouring rain so I could retake my test. I killed it in the rain after Paul reminded me I already know all this stuff. Trust the bike, trust my training and trust myself. Ron brought out the Celebration of Skills clipboard and I killed it in pouring rain. The bike I bought a week before I got my license is a 99 Honda Magna 750. Buyer beware. On my wife's 3rd ride on her 2011 Fatboy purchased at Classic Iron the back tire flattened on a 6 lane highway. I called CI and they said even though it was within the first 30 days they weren't responsible for it. After getting the bike towed to Richmond Harley they informed me that the tire was 9 years old. Between the tire and damaged wheel I will be hit with a. 1400 dollar repair. In the pictures you see the date on the tire and how tire separates from the wheel. We are lucky my wife (after not riding for 7 years) was able to safely get the bike stopped without going down. I emailed them again but no response. There are plenty of Real dealerships in Virginia. I suggest you go to one that will not put a dangerous bike on the road. read more

Having to trailer my bike there multiple times too. Finally taking to Harley Davidson and found out that their mechanic had no idea what he was doing putting the wrong parts in my bike. I just completed a Motorcycle Licensing class to get my Virginia license. It was a fantastic class, and as a novice I felt very comfortable when I left... with my new motorcycle license. Our instructor, Gary, was patient, engaging and supportive in the process. The small class was ideal for the practical learning process and the testing environment was ideal. Great facility and a good all around experience. I've visited various shops and although I haven't purchased my bike yet, Classic Iron had the best variety of used bikes, in the best condition for reasonable prices. If I could give negative stars, I would. I have dealt with Classic Iron since they were in the original location in Triangle/Dumfries and Dale was in charge. Have ALWAYS had EXCELLENT service from Ron in Parts. And the "mechanic" knew bikes. Now, they have "technicians", which in itself, should send you skittering in the opposite direction, as a "technician" can probably be charged at way more per hour than a plain old-fashioned, I know what I'm doing "mechanic". Just my opinion on that one. That being said, I was on the side of the road this past weekend, and had a question about the "fix" that had been performed to get me home. I wanted to know if the axle pinch bolt had a torque setting. I didn't want to over torque and ruin the aluminum fork or have the "fix" bolt break, and I'd possibly lose my front wheel. No small issue. No bike shops near where I was. Classic was the "closest". For OVER AN HOUR, I played with various people, Dennis (sales), Red (Sales), "Kelsey" (I assume office) and Eli (boss's son), who would not put me through to parts saying Ron was "too busy" to take a phone call. Remember, I'm on the side of the road and had a 2 minute question. Oh, and I bought the bike from Classic years ago... I never did get to speak to Ron, who would have been able to answer my question, put my mind at ease, and I'd have been able to get back on the road. Several of the "sales" and "office" people wanted weird info from me.... full name, telephone numbers, make and year of bike, and more.... All this after I had asked for parts. Seemed weird. Then, Eli, the boss's son, hung up on me. I will give him benefit of the doubt that it was busy and he doesn't do the phones. When I got to "Kelsey", I was fairly livid.... She was arrogant, uppity and obstinate. Not to mention plain old rude. Dennis in sales was similar. He didn't like the fact that I wanted to speak to Ron, and didn't want to give him all the info and then repeat it to Ron. Finally, I DID give him the info he seemed to need, and then he tells me he can't help me. Really????? And he was rather snotty, indicating that he would not help me because "YOU ASKED FOR RON". I was told twice that Ron would be given my message and call me back. Ron did not. Knowing Ron, had he been given the message, he would have called back. Remember, I'm sitting on the side of the road, and they know this... Long story short, I WILL NO LONGER RECOMMEND CLASSIC TO ANYONE. And I have referred A LOT of folks to the "old" Classic. And my t-shirt is not even a rag now. Customer service is important fellas. It's what pays the bills. And I'm sad to see I'm not the only one on here to give such a review. So first of all I bought my bike back in March of 2016. They did not allow test rides even though I had someone that had been riding for years to test it out for me. Since then I have put 6000 miles on the bike and have had to replace the following: Front brakes and flush(braking power was weak, pads ending up being warped) Several gaskets on the transmission due to very heavy leaking of transmission fluid) rear swing arm bearings (worn, which was causing some wobble) riser bearings ( causing play in the steering) rear brake pads and flush ( they were metal on metal, but hey they passed a inspection somehow in March done by Classic Iron) (also I very rarely use my rear brake, just saying) just giving my 2 cents and I do not recommend buying a bike from this place unless you want tons of issues that they ignore. I could have almost bought a brand new bike with the cost of the bike and repairs, as just something to think about. read more

I didn't feel pressured to buy anything, they made me feel comfortable not like other dealers who breath down your neck. Dennis made the entire process smooth and easy. I bought a 2016 Road King in October 2018. I shopped at all the local dealers first within 150 miles. Classic Iron beat any price out there for a used Harley. Not only was cost a plus but their selection was outstanding. They have more bikes to view then any dealer. I hadn't rode a bike since the 70's so I wasn't sure about riding home which was about 100 miles. Classic Iron set up delivery to my house at reasonable cost. Now I'm thinking of a second bike a Sportster for my wife. I saw multiple ones there. By the way, you cant test ride but I understand that, insurance second, no returns, no problem for me. BEWARE OF SERVICE.... I took my 2012 FLHTK to Classic Iron to have the transmission worked on. When I picked the bike up, I felt a terrible vibration in the right floorboards. The bike was making a noise coming from the primary. They fixed the vibration in right floorboard, turns out the mechanic (Danny) didn't properly attach the heat shield. I am the original owner of the bike. The only issue with the bike was a slipping transmission. The noise and vibration on the left floorboard intensified on my way to work this morning. I'm not sure what Danny did to my bike, other than the scratches on pipes, to make the primary sound like it's coming apart. BEWARE of having Classic Iron open up you bikes. I have been a loyal customer of CI. All together I've spent approximately $5000. They won't see another penny!! read more

I purchased a bike from Classic Iron and rode it home to DC. The purchasing process was ok however the bike was a different story. The 2nd day of riding it, I noticed there was no speed in the bike when switching gears(not to mention the battary died when I got home). The bike has less than 1500 miles and was 2 years old. I contacted classic iron and was told to return the bike and they would look into it. Upon riding the bike back from DC to Fredericksburg, the bike stopped on the highway in traffic on 95. I had to have the bike towed to the shop that was supposedly under warranty but, I was told that's my problem. Classic Iron gets the bike and take 7 weeks to repair! No status update unless I called. No compensation for anything (time, tow, nothing). Long story short, I picked up my bike and took it to another shop that told me the place is known for customer issues in the area by other bike shops. Should have known! read more

I first bought a bike from Classic Iron in 2012, bought a second from them for my wife in 2016, and just bought a third from them last month. I've had zero problems with the first two bikes they sold me. I confirmed a problem with the third bike they had overlooked while it was still under their 30 day warranty. When I showed them the issue, they took the bike in, checked it out again and made the necessary repairs even after the 30 day warranty had expired. Their sales staff are always pleasant, and they've always been very patient, informative, and have never hinted at pressure sales. This is a great business. I just traded in my older Honda for a newer HD and had a great experience. I was delayed in heavy traffic and arrived 5 minutes after closing on a Saturday; even so, they took the time to wait on me. After shopping around and researching online, I returned several days later and made my purchase. They were extremely helpful, professional, friendly, and thorough. They gave me a fair price for my Honda and charged a fair price for my newer HD. Their selection was the largest in the Northern Virginia area and their prices were the lowest. After the purchase, they met me in the parking lot and went over my new bike with me in great detail. Sorry to say my first impression of this place was great, but my end result was nothing less then a disaster. I strongly urge you to read this entire post as I had to deal with everything a customer never wants to deal with. I purchased a motorcycle from classic iron two months back. When I walked into classic iron I felt at ease, the salesmen were relaxed and didn't push or press you (they don't work off commission.) In fact, I felt more inclined to buy a motorcycle from classic iron even at a higher price for the nearly identical bike at another dealership do to the fact I felt they were great people selling great products. So thats what I did, I spent nearly $800 more to buy a bike from them instead of at a different dealership. Lets get into the bike; I bought a 2009 Harley Davidson Nightster with a little over 3000 miles on it. I loved this bike, I took it home the day I saw it. BUT the NEXT day once I started it, the bike stalled out on me idling back to back with 5 minutes or so in between each start. This wasn't just a one time thing either, it did it again later that day, and then again in the evening. I quickly got very discouraged, it was a Sunday so I had to wait until Monday to bring it in to get checked out. When I brought it back the dealership they told me it was no big deal and gave me a BS reason why it was doing it and gave me a bottle of some fuel additive to put in the bike and was sent on my way. So I left, for it to happen once again less then a week later. I then brought it back and said they needed to fix the problem. They took the bike so they could figure out what was wrong with it, it took them 8 days to fix the problem. They lied to me about what they did, they said the tuner failed and they replaced it and installed a fuel management pack. Thats the part they lied about, I checked, their was no fuel management pack that was installed. I took the bike and it ran okay for the next week and a half but the problem came back once again for the THIRD time. Once again more BS from the dealership, reset fuel codes and was sent on my way. But it wasn't a couple days later when it all happened again. This time the dealership finally actually put the fuel management pack on it. The bike ran much better after that. Two weeks later I was on 95 South doing 80mph when all of the sudden my gear box stops working, the bike wouldn't move an inch. Left stranded on 95 with a fat towing bill coming my way I called angrily telling the GM to call me back first thing Monday since this happened after business hours on Saturday. The GM doesn't call me back, instead he has one of his mechanics call me back. This was not an issue for the mechanic to be calling me back on, I bought a lemon from classic iron and I wanted to speak with the GM about what he was going to do about the situation. I had to wait 5 days to bring the bike to them ( more expenses I had to pay) because I couldn't afford losing more money by taking off work. But the day before I was going to bring the bike back, it starts leaking gas in my garage. This was just the last string. I when into the dealership with one purpose, I wanted my money back for the crap bike they sold me. End story, after waiting nearly an hour to talk to the GM (Eli Terry) and then another 45 minutes arguing with the man. I got my money back for one reason and one reason only, I knew this bike fell under the lemon law, and that he would lose more money in the end if he didn't give me my money back. Minus taxes and title, (completely understood that) but he refused to give me my $299 processing fee back. He only did this because I had spoken to my lawyer about all of this and I would have won hands down no questions asked. If it hadn't been for me just wanting my money back right then and there I would have gone with the lemon law just so I could have screwed him like he screwed me. When stranded on the side of 95 several bikes stopped to help and talk while I waited for a tow truck, (thank you to those riders!) But they (multiple bikers) left me with some great information that I need to pass onto you guys. In the biker world, Classic Iron has a reputation for not selling quality bikes and not taking care of their customer. They do one thing and one thing only, sell bikes to new bike riders who don't know other bikers who would tell them to go somewhere else and not to deal with Classic Iron. Classic Iron also knew that my father and brother were both very interested in bikes from there. Needless to say neither of them will be purchasing bikes from Classic Iron and neither should you! So biker to biker, or biker to someone who wants to get on a bike for the first time, please take your business else where. This experience was nothing but a head ace ever since I drove it off the lot day one. I strongly urge you to talk to the bikers in your area and see if they have a single good thing to say about them. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Talked to a sales associate 2 days ago about buying a bike. Got the price down to one both parties mutually agreed on. Told them i could be down Saturday morning to pick the bike up. As soon as i got off the phone with classic iron i called my bank, got a loan application and got the check overnighted to me. I call classic iron 2 days later to let them know im on my way to pick up the bike. The other sales associate tells me that someone is looking at the bike at that very moment. Ok, no big deal, tell the guy the bike is already being purchased. instead, the guy on the phone tells me i should've sent them a confirmation that my bank cut the check for the bike. Because I didn't do something i was never told to do, the bike got sold out from under me. Nevermind that classic iron should have honored their word. I followed up with them and took their basic riders course, earning my motorcycle license. The course was very good. Learned how to ride and more. The instructor was great. After getting my license I went shopping. Spent the entire day at the dealer until I selected my bike. Financing was great. Picked up an Almost new Indian. A few hundred miles in, I brought it back because I had a hard time finding neutral. They quickly brought it in and adjusted clutch to my liking. Red the manager was awesome. Ron the parts guy, John the instructor, Daniel the mechanic, and Dennis my sales guy, great group of people. Also shout out to finance for helping me get insurance. The dealership and sales floor is not the problem with this review. I understand the structure of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) curriculum and how the courses are instructed. I have completed every level of MSF training and additional schools. The instructor on the class dates of May 14th and 15th was extremely unprofessional. For a Basic Riders Course (BRC), all of the students are brand new to the riding experience. It is ENCOURAGED that questions be asked during this course, so they gain the knowledge and experience in a safe environment on the range. When students asked questions, there was attitude given and some questions weren't answered. The instructor was also yelling across the range over the sound of traffic nearby and the motorcycle while doing the demonstration. Attempting to learn a new basic skill with distractions isn't an efficient way to instruct students. The class started at 0730 on the 14th, on a hot day within the 70's to 80's degrees. Breaks from riding are supposed to be after every to exercises or drills, only two 5 minutes breaks were given throughout the entire day which had to be ASKED for by the students. Also brand new riders aren't conditioned to long riding periods, a student was receiving instruction while sitting on the bike and at a stand still, put the bike in neutral, and then was yelled at for trying to alleviate the hands from cramping. BRAND NEW RIDERS DO NOT KNOW ANY BETTER. Learning a new skill such as riding should be a fun and safe experience for everybody. I would gladly complete the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Instructor course to take this position and prevent future terrible experiences for future riders. read more

NO TEST RIDES. Wanted to put that out there first to hopefully save someone else the aggravation of driving to this place expecting to do so. I was interested in a motorcycle I saw on their website. I'm about 4.5 hours round trip from this place. I said I wanted to come down and look the bike over and take it out on a ride. Was told no problem. I get to this place and and I walked around and found the bike someone came up and I said I called and wanted to take the bike out on a test ride. It was at this point that I was told they don't do test rides. Needless to say after knowing I wasted a 2 hour ride there and another 2.5 in I-95 traffic ahead of me I wasn't happy. I attempted to ask if they would give me some money off on the bike I come down to see due to the miscommunication. I was told they couldn't and I should harp on the fact I couldn't ride the bike and wasted my time. Terrible customer service and bad attitude ruined any shot they had at my money. read more

In October 2017 I purchased a used '15 Indian Chieftain from Classic Iron. A few months later I took the bike to the Indian dealership in Annapolis (Chesapeake Cycles) to have some pullback bars installed, and to also have them check out a couple of small issues I was having with the bike (music on my USB flash drive would constantly cut out, the headlight couldn't be adjusted up enough, and the bike would occasionally stall out due to the fuel pump losing power). While troubleshooting the non-handlebar issues, Chesapeake Cycles discovered that the bike had been in a previous accident which had caused damage to the components inside the fairing (bent headlight bracket, crimped USB cable which was someone had routed incorrectly), as well as to the right handlebar switch assembly. None of the damage was visible except for some jacked up screws on the handlebar assembly, and the stalling was intermittent. Repairs for the pre-existing accident damages were going to run $1800 in addition to the $400 for my handlebar installation. Needless to say, I was upset since I wasn't informed that the bike had been previously damaged when I purchased it. After being told of the bill for repairs, I called the sales manager (Eli) at Classic Iron and told him the situation. To be honest, I didn't expect much from that call, but I was pleasantly surprised! Eli very politely took my information, called the Maryland Indian dealer, then called me back and offered to either buy the bike back for any money I had put out, or they would pay the entire repair bill. I loved the bike, and agreed to let them handle the bill. They were true to their word and paid Chesapeake Cycle for all repairs! Now, in absolute fairness to Classic Iron, they were totally unaware of the previous accident damage to my bike since it had never been reported (previous owner was a rental place that repaired their own damages), the damage wasn't visible, and some symptoms were intermittent. Regardless, they stood behind their sale without question, which is an absolute credit to them. I have nothing but the highest regard for Classic Iron and their staff, and I would highly recommend them to anyone of my friends or associates. It is customer service like this that will make me go to them first if I ever need a new motorcycle. read more

These folks are top notch! Unlike some dealerships that will try to sell you a kitchen sink for your ride, they tell you exactly what you need and don't need when it comes to service. They won't oversell you things you don't need; and take a genuine concern in what you do need/could use. Safety is paramount with these folks...your safety on the road. Several months ago, I went there with my 99 Ultra Classic that I had just bought. I took it in for an oil change because my local H/D said I couldn't get it in for 2 months and the cost was $145! I went to Classic Iron and they got me in within 2 days (only because I had to wait until Friday due to work) and for alot cheaper (just a little more than 1/2 of what H/D wanted). They also probably saved me from a bad situation when they showed me how when the previous owner lowered it, the bolts in the rear fender well had taken chunks out of the tire. I had no idea. These guys worked on changing the bolts in the rear fender well/seat retaining bolt (for free) until they could get it set up to where nothing rubbed against the new tires that I had them put on. They recommended the Michelin Commanders and they are great tires! I asked about some additional service work and they assured me that most of what I was asking about was not necessary at the time. They said to concentrate on what I needed for safety (tires/oil change) and worry about the other stuff later. I love these folks! On top of that, if you are getting a used bike (I bought mine from a private seller), these folks have the largest selection of used bikes I have ever seen! No matter what you ride, Harley, Suzy, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and more, they have it all! Trikes to bikes and parts as well. They don't tack on tons of overhead to order you parts, either. They get what you need at a good and competitive price. Their service is quick, reliable, and alot cheaper than most. Since my H/D is used, I'm not sure what the Warranty service requirements are on a new H/D, but I highly recommend Classic Iron for both service and sales. Purchased a motorcycle in April and shipped to my home in NY.Upon arrival I took it for a quick ride only to find out the clutch plates were warped and a 600.00 dollar repair bill at the local harley davidson dealership.The owner,ELI refused to compensate anything toward the bill.You bought the bike "as is". They say every bike is test ridden and inspected before sold BULL$@^%$.They tack on a 295.00 delership fee for what? Purchased a 2014 HD Ultra and had it in the shop back home within a month for after market battery issues. Took the bike in for 1000 mile service and discovered a damaged primary cover that had been filled with silicone to fix a leak. I was told that maintenance had been done before I purchased the bike, now either it was poorly done or this problem was created there and fixed as cheaply as could be. Bike had 320 miles on it when purchased so it didn't have a lot of road time. Really disappointed in having problems covered up and having to fix them afterward. All three of my kids were looking to purchase their bikes from there. Think we are going to have to intervene and purchase somewhere else. read more

The prices will attract you to the dealership but the first interaction with a salesperson will quickly turn you away. Very very rude on the phone, was told he was too busy to do a walk thru inspection of a bike because satrdays are so busy at classic. I almost hung up but the conversation turned for the good a little bit, before heading straight downhill again. After the inspection and pictures he sent they asked for a non refundable 500 dollar deposit on a bike that was dinged, dented and in my opinion in some sort of accident because the dent was on the gas tank where only the handlebars could have twisted far enough to make the dent. Ohh but the best part is you cannot test drive these bikes. They do not negotiate on prices one bit, even though this bike was in this condition and I was paying cash, they still managed to add in a 300 dollar processing fee. Not sure what they are processing if I was paying my own taxes and doing all the leg work. Do yourself a favor and stop in the dealership down the street, it is night and day difference. read more
