They have some gorgeous pieces and it is all affordable too which is what we all like to hear dont we? They also do watch repairs which is a God send for me as my watches are always dying on me. With clocks and cabinets behind them in their little counter/ shop. I love watches; my favourite being a now broken specimen with exposed gold inner workings that belongs not to me but a friend who picked it up in Vietnam. I have been assured that it will be left to me in her will. This makes me feel better. It really is worth looking after the more expensive watches that maybe you're given as a present- future heirlooms perhaps if they are expensive enough? Time Piece take care of batteries, straps, watch glass and also some jewellery alterations. For people who, like me, tend to wreck the nicest pieces they are given by wearing them too much/ wearing them when drunk...

We found a beautiful, unique pre-owned gold charm at the oldest jewelers in the UK (Parsons in Bristol) a few years ago. So of course we had to look here too and success! In this lovely old (122 years) store right in the center of Manchester she found another unique piece. Obviously a tiny store like this doesn't have the broad selection of jewelry typical of a national chain - but they do have unique pre-owned pieces! Review #118 2019

I was told the stone was glass and chipped and it would be melted down for the gold. The bracelet was sold for £165. Thinking i was being dealt with fairly and thinking that the company had integrity i sold the items. Imagine how disappointed i was when i looked in the window a couple of weeks later and saw the ring priced at £295 and the bracelet priced at £895. I went into the shop and questioned the extortionate price increase. No reasonable explanation was given. The manager offered to sell me back the two items which i was willing to do but when he pulled the receipt out he hadn't itemised the pieces sold and would only sell for £450. I was unwilling to do this as it would have meant the giving the other items away for nothing. Was the reciept deliberately vague to counter complaints such as mine? Makes me wonder. I feel as if i have been dealt with in a very underhand manner. I'd never really understood the meaning of daylight robbery before. I do now! I would advise anyone from buying or selling from Arthur Kay. They lack integrity and decency and you'd be better going elsewhere. I expected more from an established family company. Shame on you!

There are three floors of pre-war furniture, household objects, chandeliers, toys, medals, vintage jewellery and other collectibles. Over the years I've noticed the prices going up a little but it's still great value for money. In the basement you'll find a café which does a mean weekend breakfast and serves good food throughout the day. The building itself is also noteworthy. Built in 1898, it was originally the Town Hall. One thing that definitely hasn't escaped my mind is just how much I wanted one! Judging by the cold metal gleam of today's Swatch stores, things have moved on pretty rapidly. Be that as it may, Swiss watches are still the best in the world, and whilst Swatch isn't exactly giving TAG Heuer and the like sleepless nights it is a brand that makes a quality, stylish product that'll last you a lifetime. The store is uber cool and super modern and the staff are engaging and knowledgeable, making even the process of shopping for your watch much more enjoyable than it has any business being.

Its modern inside with a glowing sign and it makes you really want the watches. The other thing I have to say about this branch is that on two occasions in my 4 years in Manchester, two different men have approached me on Market Street, not very far from this shop, offering to sell me a brand new Swatch watch in its box. Perhaps they should tighten security or something...
