We hired Advantage Tree Service to remove a large dead branch, with multiple offshoots, from the…read morehuge locust tree in our front yard. At that time, we thought it was a straightforward job. It was not until the day of removal that we learned how complex the removal was. We watched the whole thing from our upstairs bedroom window. A team of five men was assigned to this job: Tyler, Nate, Carlos, Theo, and Jude. In addition to a chainsaw, there were three larger machines needed for the removal and disposal of the large branch: a cherry picker truck; a skid steer; and a chipper. It was quite an event. The operator of the cherry picker, Tyler, took time to assess the situation before he began. He had to very carefully lift and navigate the bent arm of the cherry picker to cut and remove each limb of the dead branch without getting the arm of the cherry picker tangled in the many other branches of the locust tree or in the branches of the neighboring birch tree. This did not appear to be an easy thing to do, but Tyler did it carefully and successfully without getting caught up in the branches and without damaging them. In addition, Tyler had to avoid hitting the power line from the house to the street with the machine and when dropping the cut sections of the dead branch. Again, he was successful with this. To avoid damage to themselves, their equipment, activity on the street, and our property, each of the five workers needed to constantly be aware of their physical positions during the job. They were. Clearly, safety was a top priority. The men did a thorough job cleaning up our driveway and yard afterwards. They left no trace. We can now feel safe knowing the dead branch that was hanging precariously over our driveway no longer has the potential to fall and cause injury to someone or our property. We certainly learned a great deal by watching these skilled, competent workers successfully finish the job and now have a newfound appreciation and respect for the work they do. Kudos to them! Take a look at what they did to MY property. Their machines not only ruined our seal coating, they cracked the blacktop in a couple of places. We weren't home when they finished so we didn't see it until they were long gone. No note, no anything, to be sure we were ok with what they'd done. Had to ask our neighbors who they were. Classic example of the saying, "No good deed goes unpunished." After speaking with the Advantage Tree Service sales rep on this project he grudgingly acknowledged that he should have talked to me about bringing his commercial grade equipment onto my residential grade blacktop but that's about all. They think it will be fine after a few rainstorms (I don't) so we may end up with attorneys involved, which is really unfortunate; it seems pretty obvious how they could make this right but don't seem inclined to actually do it. There's a reason they only have a 3 star rating.

They literally didn't have to put the crane on the lawn but they insisted that this crane needed the extra feet. They brought the wrong crane , that's why, they should've brought the bigger one like the guy who did the estimate said they are going to do. They left huge tree trunks on my lawn for close to two weeks and I had to message them multiple times to get it picked up.
