The layout if the buffet restaurant was very nice. Had sort of a Arizona kinda feel with the colors and brick work. I had an assortment of menu items. I though overall everything was good. The turkey was slightly dry but not bad. I loved the peel and eat shrimp. The cocktail sauce was good. Nice and tangy. The salad dressing I thought were good and the romaine lettuce was nice and green. There was not a wide assortment of veggies like asparagus, broccoli, etc which was a downer. The peppers and sausage was good but not spicy (which is how I like mine but then again not everyone likes spicy food) which was not bad. A wide variety of soups also. The service was very good and facility was clean. I came on a Tuesday evening for dinner and was seated right away. The waiter for my table was very attentive and cleared my plates immediately when I was finished. It's not a 5-star over the top buffet but its good. I would come back to this restaurant buffet when I visit Wilkes Barre again.

There's also plenty of seating, making it a convenient option for both smaller parties and larger groups. The atmosphere itself isn't anything particularly special. It has the typical look and feel of an average buffet. The food isn't especially memorable either, but I will say that the selection is better than some of the other buffet options in the area. The pricing is also about what I'd expect for a buffet: fairly average. Unfortunately, the biggest issue for me was that my family and I all felt sick after eating here. I can't say for certain that it was caused by the food, but it's something worth mentioning and something I personally would keep in mind when deciding whether to return. Overall, Royal House has a decent selection, plenty of seating, and an average price, but the food itself isn't anything exceptional.

This made my daughter so uncomfortable that she had to turn away to avoid her gaze. I didn't even stay at the restaurant after such a lack of respect, which left my daughter in tears and feeling insecure.

Our waitress named Cassy 7 on our bill. If she waits on you make sure that she does not add on extras that you do not want. She will ask if you want corn and potatoes with your meal and if you say yes she adds on extra portions of each. Corn for $4.00 more and Potatoes for $3.50 more (They are already included with your meal). When she brought out our food we asked her why we had so many pieces of corn and potatoes with each meal and she said that is what we wanted and I explained to her we only wanted that comes with the meal and you brought us way to many. She said no problem and that she would take them off of our bill and I explained that we did not order and extra food and she said that its ok and that they would take them off of our bill when we paid. Well when the bill arrived nothing was taken off and We asked her about it and she said that she would have it corrected and then came back and asked me for payment and I asked for a copy of the bill before I paid and she had taken off only part of the extras and I told her that she needed to take the rest off of the bill and she stormed away and then 2 other ladies came to the table and told us that we had eaten the extras and that we had to pay for them. WE DID NOT EAT THEM!! I explained this to them and they said the waitress had counted the food that was left and we had to pay for the missing pieces and that was that. We were lied to and tricked into ordering add ons that we did not eat. I paid the bill and explained that we would never come back here again after this mess. It's not the money that matters. It was how we were treated. YOU JUST LOST A LONG TIME CUSTOMER OVER THIS! Just beware when you order so this doesn't happen to you!

Everything takes on a darker vibe when you add the words "at a casino."…read more One thing you have to know about me is that I am not a gambler. Long ago I learned something interesting about myself. Yes, it's fun to win money. And yes, it's sad to lose money. But for me, the pain of losing money is greater than the joy of winning. That simple calculous keeps me away from tables, from putting coins in machines, or from laying down bets on sporting events. I came to Mohegan for the promise of a nice adults-only hotel at a low price. And for this, it was quite good. But Matthew U. hit the nail on the head about the smell of cigarettes. That was jarring. The room was fine, but the lobby not so much. Somehow I kinda forgot that people still smoke cigarettes. Honestly, this would be a four star review if I had not been tempted to check out the casino floor. Mostly, I thought it would be fun to look at the lights, people watch a bit, and maybe grab a drink at the bar before turning in for the night. That was a mistake. Sure, there was the smoke. But more than that, nobody looked like they were having a good time. Everyone looked sad. Some folks looked desperate. Others looked bored. Casinos exist because they make money. They make it by taking more than they give away. I feel like casinos may be a tax for people who are bad at math, or think the rules of mathematics somehow magically do not apply to them. All of the seats at the bar had screens built into them, so I didn't see any place to sit that wasn't in front of a slot machine. Ick. This clearly wasn't my scene. After a couple laps around the circle, I went back to my room to turn in for the night. The next morning when I was checking out, the clerk told me I hadn't used my $10 meal voucher, which could be used at the coffee shop. That was nice of them. I used it to order a ridiculous off-menu coffee drink, adding shots of espresso to push up the total. The coffee shop folks were lovely. What was less lovely was seeing an additional $15 resort fee added to my card when my Orbitz reservation was supposed to cover all fees in my booking. But at the moment I'm not sure if that's a Mohegan issue or an Orbitz one. Still, if I were in the area without kids, and the rate was right, I'd probably go back and stay at the hotel. Nice, clean, and reasonably well appointed room.

Moving on to the salad bar what a disgrace bland beets, broccoli and cheddar soup with no broccoli and only a few selections for an extra $4.99 with an entree. We paid an extra $2.00 each for a few peppers, canned mushrooms and a slice of cheese and if that wasn't bad enough they charged us an additional $2.00 each for gravy. My husband found something hard in his steak He thought it was a bone since it was irritating his gums. We showed our waitress who said she was sorry that it was a stem from the vegetables. How sad that you couldn't even send your manager over so we could express our concerns. We observed him going to every other table but ours. Our check for three people was a sickening total of just under $86 STAY AWAY. They don't care. BTW the bathroom was also disgusting toilet paper left in two out of the three toilets and only one functional sink.
