KoMaQi Sushi and Chinese Food Is delicious... Dining in or take out. The atmosphere is calming and the owners and staff are very helpful and professional. They have specials and the restaurant is very clean. Price are reasonable and the parking is easy. read more

I am from Hawaii, and Asian cuisine is very popular there. Hawaii is one of the melting pots in the world. KoMaQi Sushi is the closest to home food for me. I've been visiting Mountain Top, PA for about a year and half now, and when I'm feeling homesick this place is my go-to. My favorite dishes would be shrimp fried rice and red Thai chicken curry. I would also add ragoons if I'm feeling I want to eat something crunchy. Quality of food is very different from the food back at home, but knowing that there are decent dishes when I'm feeling homesick makes the food great and comforting. read more

I don't recommend at all. They took my order wrong and didn't realize it until I got home. I called and they refused to give me a $7 refund unless I drove 20 minutes to return a pint of noodles. Their prices are high and they don't care about their customers. read more

dressing on salad was runny. red curry not that good. Fried rice was good. Low sodium soy sauce was switched- see picture. lighting is bad. Made meat look like it has a gray tinge. my red curry looked yellow. and yet another place that proudly displayed their poop scrubbers. yes it's my pet peeve. i want clean bathrooms! There are better japanese and thai restaurants in Wilkes Barre. Not coming back. read more

I was hungry for lunch the other day but wanted something light so I wouldn't be full come dinner time so I stopped in here while I was in Mountaintop. It was completely empty but I know there are some people out there who are afraid that if they eat in an Asian restaurant they run the risk of catching the Corona virus. It's ridiculous but some people actually believe that nonsense. The outside of the building isn't much but the inside is nice. The lady who served me was friendly and efficient but wasn't constantly checking on me which is a good thing as far as I'm concerned. I ordered the Sushi special from the lunch menu. It came with Miso soup or salads. I had the soup. Nothing spectacular but it was good. The sushi was tasty but I've had better. The sushi rice was a little off; I couldn't quite place my finger on it but maybe because the rice wasn't as sticky as I'm used to. The fish was cut and fresh. They do give you some crispy wonton noodles with sweet and sour sauce with your meal which you don't see very often. The place is more in the range of 3-1/2 stars but I always round up. read more

I ordered a lunch special of shrimp with mixed vegetables and asked them to make it extra spicy it was perfect. Delicious and a great amount of heat. Shrimp were plentiful and large Lunch also came with a crispy egg roll definitely will order from them again read more

When visiting a place it is always good to have someone who knows the local places. This is off Route 309 in Mountain Top a neighboring town from Hazleton PA This is on the way to the Poconos Mountains. Food was good, we had Sushi , and he chicken Hibachi. I loved the hot ans sour soup ,portionswere too large for me and the freidnrice was great read more

We order from here probably once a week for months now, as we live close by. The staff is always fairly personable and some of the sushi is great for Mountain Top. I've never gotten sick. My only gripes are the amount of Mayo and "crunch" they use and that we have to ask for more than one set of chopsticks; yet they give us a new menu each time. read more

Nice family run restaurant, girlfriend loves there sushi for a local spot,Chinese food is also very good we come here about once a month for pick up only during covin19 read more

We've been going here, as well as getting take-out, for years and have always enjoyed it. I am not, personally, a fan of raw fish , but my Son is and he loves Komaqi. I like their various vegetable sushi rolls and their California rolls (cooked crab), not to mention their Miso soup and green salad. Most often I order from their Thai menu. While their Thai selection isn't as extensive as an exclusively Thai restaurant (such as Thai Thai in Wilkes Barre, which I also love), I really like Komaqi's red curry, either with tofu or shrimp. They will make it unabashedly spicy if you ask them to. The best compliment I can think of for their sushi is, my Sister and her family (who are, frankly, sushi snobs from a major metropolitan area), were very skeptical of a "sushi restaurant in the Poconos" and were pleasantly surprised at the taste and quality of their food. Their Salmon Teriyaki is also very good. Basically if you like Japanese, Thai or Chinese food, you will probably find something here you really like. Perhaps it won't be quite as good as your favorite Thai or Chinese restaurant, but if you are with a group of people with various tastes, it's hard to beat the variety of cuisine they offer. read more

This is the worst Chinese I ever had. Ordered Szechuan chicken. There was more onions and peppers than chicken. Who does this?

When we got home we noticed they screwed up our order. It was 8:30pm and she wanted US to bring the food back to exchange it. I told her absolutely not. It was a lesser meal than what I had ordered too. She said if you don't bring it back then nothing she could do. First of all, we live 20 mins away. I shouldn't be going out of my way for their mistake! read more

Stopped here after a craving for Chinese kicked in during a Poconos vacay. Had the veggie fried rice which was excellent but was it really necessary to hit me up for 50 cents for the egg I'd assumed was part of the recipe? Sheesh! Next time I'll take my own egg. Hubby chose the veggie pad thai which came blanketed with more crushed peanuts than commonly seen underfoot at a circus. Dee-lish & the portions are huge, especially considering that our entrees cost less than 9 bucks each. Grump alert: What's up with Chinese restaurants charging for tea lately? Not cool! But the tea was good. The check was served with a nicely carved orange & the most delicious (vanilla) fortune cookie I've ever had. Fast, friendly service rounded out a tasty meal & a day later those leftovers are calling my name... read more

We really enjoyed this place - so many vegan and vegetarian options to choose from, and the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The service was fast and the prices were reasonable. We would love to return! read more

This place is very good!,I tryed it once before while i was here,i just came here lastnight for dinner. Lastnight I had beef lo mein, the time before i had general tso chicken. When you sit down they give you those little crunchy triangle things with red sause, for 15 minutes I was wondering what the hell the red sause tasted like, then finally strawberry jelly?Weird but it worked pretty well with the triangles. Beef lo mein-I got it with no veggies like i'd do at any chinese place. The noodles were in somet kind of brown sause and it was very tasty! The beef was very very flavorful and tender, also it had no grisle wich is very nice. General tso chicken-It seems as though eatch chinese place has a resipy thats a tad diffrent, expeshally on this item.It was spicy and very flavorful you should get this if your reading my review :). side note-very good serves and when you get your straw they have this little paper thing tied around it,it was a neat little touch! read more

This spot is serving take out only due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Their sweet potato sushi is my absolute favorite!

I tried ordering from here a while ago and it was just ok. I decided to give it another try and I definitely should not have. I ordered a sushi roll and asked for only shrimp and avocado on top instead of the regular fish and I repeated my order three times on the phone to make sure it was correct. When I got there to pick it up it had other fish on top. I asked them to fix it and they said it would be a $3 up charge for shrimp and avocado. I asked why there was an up charge if I was only asking them to replace the fish on top with shrimp and Avocado and why she didn't tell me that over the phone when I ordered and she couldn't tell me. I was not going to pay $16 for a rainbow roll when I have ordered it this way from other sushi restaurants as never had to pay an up charge. I told them to leave it and I would just eat when they made instead. I got home and found out the shrimp Lomein i ordered only had 2 shrimp in it. Our meal was definitely not worth $59 when I have paid half that for the same thing at other restaurants. I will drive the extra 15 minutes to the next sushi place next time. read more

This is my favorite sushi place in Mountian Top probably because it's the only one in Mountain Top. But if he prices are fair and if you want a little Thai Thai they offer some dishes as well! read more

I love this place! I moved out of the area and make sure to stop here each visit home. Our recent visit was phenomenal with their sushi selection and excellent wait staff. My husband and I are locals that have been going to Komaqi for sushi for years. We live close by and go about 3x a month. Their sushi is always great, melt in your mouth fresh. They have fresh oysters about once a week that are out of this world, we usually order a dozen, phenomenal!! The atmosphere is small and quaint, the service and quality of food consistently on point. read more

I've eaten here a few times for lunch as its close to my office. Don't eat here if you don't eat meat. Twice I've ordered vegetable fried rice only to get pork fried rice, and this time I ordered vegetarian pad Thai only to find it full of pork. Definitely NOT vegetarian friendly in any way. read more

WHAT happened to this place? I've been eating here forever and it's always had good food at a decent price. It has declined on every level. There are water stains on the ceiling and the windows are dirty. The food was marginally edible. Even my iced tea, which was the color of ginger ale, had no taste. read more

Placed an $80 order yesterday in person at the counter, I waited for my food and brought it back home when it was ready. Two of the lunch specials which were supposed to be shrimp we're chicken, it was correct on my receipt however they were made wrong and one of the meals I ordered was missing. I called them back to let them know about the order, told them I can deal with the two meals that were wrong, we will eat them and that's OK, however I don't have a meal for one more person and then I will be back to pick it up. When I got there to pick it up the lady at the counter insisted that my order was correct and that I had to pay again for this other meal, I questioned it however she just continue to argue with me so I paid for the meal again and went on my way. I understand that people make mistakes but at least make it right, they were just very disrespectful over a seven dollar lunch combo and I recommend you check your order before you leave. read more

Great place for Sushi. Had some very tasty Sushi here on several occasions. No so great for Chinese food though.

Best sushi EVER. Period. I moved to NC and the first thing I am doing once I come visit for Thanksgiving is driving an additional 45 minutes out of my way for lunch and ordering Tuna Tataki and the Foxy Lady roll. Osaka was good, then they lost their good sushi chef about a year ago. Started making small rolls with bigger prices. We went on a search for a better place and found Komaqi and have never looked back. Delicious! read more

This place is weak. Don't go. The building is old and not very nice. They have too many types of Asian food. They also have a TV that plays advertisements all day. read more

My family eats here several times a month. Great friendly service and good food.

Very poor first impression. Called for take out, male answered the phone not over friendly or rude but didn't seem happy to be on the phone. Went to pick up my order, male was very rude and when I asked for chop sticks and soy and duck sauces; he said everything was in the bag. I asked for a few extra anyway and he gives me extra chop sticks, no sauces. It's a good thing I got back to my station to eat because the genius didn't bother to put a spoon in the "bag with everything in it", and the sweet and sour chicken was over cooked. I've been to the cheaper and not as fancy China II in Mt. Top and the service and food is much better for a better price. read more

The BEST Chinese food and sushi around! We LOVE this place. The food is always consistently awesome, with big portions, and it's always fresh and delicious. This is truly a hidden gem here in Mountain Top. I could eat here a few times a week and never get tired of it. Service is always great as well. Sometimes, the owner has her son working the front register and he is such a sweet little boy and smart too! Always a pleasure coming here whether it's just for some sushi, or a full meal. We also get take out here quite often. Komaqi is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. read more

Im putting story at the beginning of my review just in case you stop reading early. We went cross country skiing one day and i was VERY excited for "all you can eat sushi". After picking through big balls of rice with about half the size piece of fish that one would typically expect I tried to order more only to be told that "I had to finish the monster balls of rice that my tiny slices of fish came perched on"(my words of course). I was irritated, offended and torn-do I eat waaaaay more rice than I would ever eat in order to get some fish? Walk out? Start hiding rice in my pockets?? I just drank more beer, bitched, and distributed whatever rice I could onto my companions plates. To be fair, this was a few years ago, what follows is based on more recent trips and is inspired by another mediocre experience last night. I suppose this place is fine if you've not used to a really good or even good sushi place-mind you I'm not talking about a very expensive place, just a reasonably priced place with great food...like Katana. We moved about 5 miles from white haven a few years ago and were thrilled that there was a place to get sushi relatively close by. For a while we settled for ok the sushi, we were even excited about things like the tuna treasure bowl but ultimately we felt like we were getting more panko than tuna, same with the "spicy" rolls, mostly filler, and not very neatly rolled either-which I could forgive if they at least tasted better. We swore off the place for a long time deciding it was well worth the extra 40 minute round trip to katana but we were desperate last night. My girlfriend had shrimp lo mein which actually tasted good but had really small shrimp and NO vegetables. I just got some rolls, sub par as usual. I'm moving and will obviously not be back but thought I'd share our experience for those of you still around. Oh yeah, I tried their "pad Thai" once, ha! I could have done better with a package of ramen and some airline peanuts. Such a joke. read more

Very good sushi! Could use a little more variety but great place for the mountain. Sunday sushi special is great too!

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Waited for over an hour for food, and then waited another hour to get our check. It's extremely slow every time I've been here, and I would not recommend it to anyone unless you have an entire day to devote to one meal. read more

This restaurant has gone down hill. Years ago it was a good place for sushi and take out Chinese food. Now the portions are MUCH smaller, food is of less quality. Sushi rolls are smaller than most grocery store rolls. Dumplings changed and are now like the frozen food microwave version - poor. Portions of chicken (Gen Tso) have become half the size - for the same large price. This place is expensive for the area and for the quality of food they are now serving. Again, once upon a time it was good, now it has just fallen off and focused on profit instead of good food. Will not be dining here again. read more

The sushi is surprisingly good for being in Mt top. It's a bit pricey, but worth it. Also, being able to order online is a huge +.
