Wow! Visited this place a couple weeks ago; very disappointing! First clue was that the restaurant was empty at lunch time on a Friday. The Orange Chicken & the Sesame Chicken were the same extruded chicken balls, but with different sauces. Service was also very brusque & slow, like she didn't give a damn if we were there. This used to be a great place many years ago, now it is staffed exclusively by nasty people who really make you feel like they wish you had never come in. We only got about half of what we asked for, and when we asked for the rest, she acted like it was a real imposition. All that would be OK if the food was good, but it was only mediocre. Server very rude and lazy. When food brought, it wasn't hot and was average. I had to search for the server because there were no napkins nor utensils provided. You can't make this up. The place was empty except for 2 of us and 1 other person who told us that the employees there were rude after we walked in. We recently ordered around $90 worth of stuff for our office and had an employee pick it up. When we got the order they did not give us the 7 bottles of soda/iced tea that we ordered. I called and they said they would credit our account. We'll see if that actually happens. One person ordered the chicken and pineapple fried rice. There wasn't one piece of chicken in it, but there were raisins?! The online ordering system is very dated and doesn't give you any options. For example.. Say you don't want mushrooms, there is no option to specify that or type your request. My boyfriend refuses to ever go here aftee how rude they were the last time he picked up an order. I keep coming back The place is super friendly clean and food is served fast. It is a great place to sit and dine in because the service is really good and the food is inexpensive. My boyfriend and I like to come here on date nights because we can enjoy a good meal together get great service and relax for as long as we like. Just ordered take out - Ugh - this restaurant has gone down hill -- one part of our order was sweet and sour shrimp - what we got was bread crumbs, fried fantail shrimp - when I called to tell them, the girl that answered said she was the manager - stated that the shrimp I received was their sweet and sour shrimp. When I questioned her about the coating (tempura batter) she claimed that the restaurant "DOES NOT USE" tempura batter and never has. What? Great food! My daughter absolutely loves this restaurant. She thinks it's special treat to stop in for their Oolong tea. Front desk and wait staff seem very nice though there is a white haired older gentleman that does not treat them very nice, even in front of customers. One thing they do not have is Sesame Beef which I really like but their sesame chicken is probably "healthier" for me anyhow. Their fried noodles, wonton soup and General Tsos chicken are very good. Yum yum yum yum yum :) Mr Lee is a dear old friend of my fathers so we frequent there. Their portions are great and the food is always fresh, and does not taste like it has been sitting in the kitchen all day like some Chinese restaurants. Only downfall is it is pricey for Chinese food, so expect to have a tall bill when the check comes. The freshness may be worth the price. Also side note: they use to have a different duck sauce that they placed on the tables when you are in about 4 years ago - they changed it and it's blehhhh. Bring back the old duck sauce!!! Don't call for take out. The woman on the phone was rude. Said my order would be ready in ten minutes. When I told her I would be there in 30 minutes she said "okay no problem." Went on a Wednesday night for dinner. We had received a gift certificate for Peking Chef. The place is severely under staffed. The phone was ringing the Lady I would say is the hostess was running like a chicken without a head. We waited over 10 minutes to be seated without menus and at a dirty table. The Waitress used a smelly tag to clean down the table. It was another 10 minutes to get menus. Mr.Lee the owner sat at the booth behind us talking loudly. When we got the menus we put in our drink order. Again we had to wait. Finally we put our order in but still no drinks. My Husband ordered the Peking Chefs General Tso chicken, extra spicy. I ordered the chicken Lo mein. The food did come out quickly and hot. But that's the only good news. My Husband's chicken was anything but extra spicy it was oily beyond words. My Lo Mein was tasteless and oily as well. When we were asked how the meal was and told her our issues she then stated they had new cooks. I don't recommend this place at all. I have had better Chinese food from local take out places. This place should be closed. I only gave it one star to get the review in. read more

My husband went to pick it up and our card didn't work ( not due to insufficient funds)..card was cracked..She rudely asked if he would be back to pick it up .He said he will try to get it out of bank and may be back.. Due to hold up at bank checking our card..My husband just came home.That Asian bitch calls my phone complaining we didn't pick up our order . My wife and I had dinner at Peking Chef in Dallas, PA. We had TSO's Chicken, Chicken and Brocolli, veg. rice & egg roll. It was so good & fresh, no msg, no trans fat. Have to say that the staff was very professional and courteous and made us feel like our satisfaction with everything was most important. Very good if you order take-out, but EXCELLENT if you eat in! We've eaten here several times and my family agrees that the food (all Chinese food, actually) is best eaten right out of the kitchen. The Chef's Specials are almost all excellent- our faves are Three Flavors Chicken and the Black Pepper Beef (they use super-tender, thinly-sliced steak!) and the House Special Fried Rice, the Ho Ho dishes (get it spicy!) and the Kung pow shrimp. The only dish that we have found to be 'eh' (both times when we've ordered it) is the Happy Shrimp. They fry the shrimp too hard so that the it takes some strong chomping to eat it and the shrimp has completely lost its juiciness due to the overcooking. The thin noodles are also yummy as are the fried dumplings (we've had them steamed and they just don't retain that heat for some reason. Nothing worse than lukewarm dumplings. The soups are pretty standard- kinda boring. The service is EXCELLENT. All the staff speak English well and are very attentive and pleasant. The place is much nicer than the standard restaurants around here. There are tablecloths, tables, booths and carpeting. We saw a lot of couples as well as families. We bring our 1-yr old (who LOVES Chinese food, go figure) and the staff are always kind. They serve beer and liquor too but I go with the Chinese tea! read more

Peking Chef is the best Chinese restaurant I've ever been to and I live in NYC with Chinatown at my fingertips! I've been going there for over 25 years and Mr Lee is one of the sweetest men ever! He always checks in and makes sure your food is delicious and will sometimes even send out some of his specialties on the house. The veggies are always crisp and the meat is high-quality. Their complimentary noodles and duck sauce are definitely the best around. The Szechuan Chicken and General Tso's are a must try! Go support Mr Lee and his team. I've been dining at Peking Chef for almost 50 years -- before they moved to Dallas. I bring my family there on special occasions and celebrate my birthdays there. On my birthday, Eric Lee, the owner made a special dessert for me and added to my collection of carved fish and cats. The food is really good and there is one private room that seats about 8. My only criticism is the bar. They haven't a clue about what to serve for a drink. The wait staff needs to be trained for that. If you're not interested in a cocktail, just order hot tea.
