Before training, everyday life with Goose could honestly be exhausting. He is a loving, amazing dog, but he had so much energy and very little impulse control. Walks were a struggle because of pulling and getting overly excited by everything around him. He would have a hard time settling down, listening when distracted, holding commands, and understanding when it was time to be calm. We found ourselves constantly repeating commands, correcting the same behaviors, and feeling like Goose was running the household instead of us being able to simply enjoy him. The difference after four weeks is incredible. Goose came home still having the same happy, goofy personality we love, but now he has structure, confidence, patience, and an understanding of what is expected of him. His leash walking has completely changed. Instead of being dragged around or constantly fighting for his attention, we can actually enjoy peaceful walks together. His obedience around distractions is on another level. His place command has been life changing in the house, especially when guests come over, food is being prepared, or we simply need him to relax. His recall, sit, down, stay, overall engagement, and ability to settle have improved tremendously. What impressed us most is that this was not about turning Goose into a robot. He is still Goose. He is still playful, affectionate, excited, and full of personality. He just finally understands how to control himself and communicate with us. Raza's passion for dogs and training is obvious from the moment you speak with him. He genuinely cares about the dogs in his program and takes pride in producing real results, not just teaching a few tricks for a video. He took the time to understand Goose as an individual dog and worked through the behaviors that were actually making our daily life difficult. The communication throughout the program was another huge reason we had such a great experience. We felt comfortable knowing how Goose was doing and could see the progress being made. The team was professional, knowledgeable, patient, and clearly invested in his success. The go home experience was also extremely valuable because they did not just hand us a trained dog and send us on our way. They showed us how to communicate with Goose, how to maintain his training, and how to continue building on everything he learned. That part made us feel confident that the results would actually carry over into our everyday life. A Board and Train program is definitely an investment, and we thought seriously about it before enrolling Goose. After seeing the results, I can genuinely say it was worth every penny. The quality of life improvement alone has been priceless. We are able to take Goose more places, enjoy walks, have people over, relax at home, and include him in our lives without constantly worrying about what behavior we are going to have to manage next. The biggest change is that we are finally able to enjoy our dog instead of constantly struggling with our dog. I have known Howard, Marilyn and John for over 30 years! John is training my dachsund puppy "Otto"…read moreright now. This is the third dachsund he has trained for us. I mention dachshund because they are notoriously stubborn and can be very difficult to train. From the first day, all my dogs were magically somehow clued in and listening to John. He truly has an other worldly connection with dogs. I couldn't get my dog to do anything and John had them able to do "sit", "Stay", "come" and "heel" on the first day. He then taught me how to handle my dog and get them to pay attention. The best part is the dogs are so much happier. It's as if they feel someone is communicating with them, and they are not alone. It's incredible to watch and my dogs remembered everything they learned their whole lives. John is the nicest person. He deeply loves and respects dogs and has made his life in the service of training them. It's a worthwhile investment. I actually tried a less expensive option as I am retired now but it was nothing like "Good Dog" and my dog was fearful and cowering. I immediately realized that I was so lucky to know this team and how worthy the investment in my dog is.

We found Trisha online after placing a deposit with another breeder who unfortunately stopped…read morecommunicating with us. We drove about 2.5 hours to pick up our puppy, and from the moment we met Trisha, she was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly patient while I chose the puppy that was right for our family. Before we left, she provided all of Mia's records and even sent us home with a bag of food. On the drive home, Mia vomited, but we assumed it was motion sickness from the long car ride. Over the next several hours, she continued vomiting, developed diarrhea, and stopped eating, drinking, and playing. Concerned, we called the emergency veterinarian. Based on her symptoms, they told us Mia likely had parvo, advised us to stop all food and water immediately, and bring her in if her condition got any worse. Before rushing to the emergency clinic, I called Trisha at 6:00 a.m. She listened carefully and suggested that Mia's blood sugar might be low due to her tiny size. Following Trisha's advice, I gave Mia a small amount of syrup. Within minutes, she perked up and began acting more like herself. Trisha's experience and understanding of her puppies made all the difference. Her guidance not only helped us avoid a costly emergency vet visit but, more importantly, helped keep Mia safe. Had we followed the advice to completely restrict food and water for a puppy weighing less than two pounds, the outcome could have been very different. Even though we had our other bulldog for 4 years when we applied for Betty, i was very happy that CEBR put us through the application process, including a house visit. So many people love bulldogs, but many don't understand the commitment that comes with them and they are often neglected or given up. The CEBR application process demonstrated to me that they want to be sure the animal's new home is truly their forever home. We've since moved out of then Chicago area, but continue to love our Betty four years later...and even though we are out of state now, i continue to support CEBR through financial donations. They really go above and beyond. My work schedule varies every week and they are super flexible about accommodating my schedule weekly. As a single dog mom, they have also helped me out when I have been in a pinch and my dog needed a last minute walk. There have also been days I've worked from home and still needed my dog walked and it's clear from how excited my dog gets when either Karla or Steven show up how much he loves them. The day I really knew they were more than just dog walkers was when there was an electrical fire at my old apartment building. PP walked many dogs in the building and Wrigley wasn't even scheduled that day. Karla texted me to see if Wrigley was home because she was concerned. Everything I'm ended up being fine, but Karla went to go check on Wrigley until I got home. PP truly cares about the dogs they walk and it's more than just a business to them.
