We stayed here's a few times last year and again this year. It's a great family campground that has a bit of something for most everyone. We got together here with most of our grown kids and their families this year. There are sites ranging from basic tent sites up to spaces for very large RVs, as well as cabins that go from "4 walls" rustic to a few that are almost a hotel room with a full bathroom, shower, air conditioning, and kitchenette. There is a playground for the young kids, access to a nice field in the back, kayaking, picnic and fishing areas along the river. There's railroad tracks that run through the back of the campground and a train often goes through at night. It's close and very loud and impressive, and while it may bother some people we looked forward to it coming through. The cabins we visited were very clean and well maintained as were all the bathrooms and the showers. The little campground store seemed to have everything you are likely to forget when you leave home. The real highlight of this place is the owners, who are some of the nicest people you can come across. They are pleasant and welcoming and went to great lengths to make our visits enjoyable. If you're looking for a deep wilderness-like experience this is probably not the place for you, but it doesn't pretend to be that. It's a really nice family friendly spot to spend some time, with plenty of stuff to keep the kids entertained. read more

if I could give this campground 10 stars, I would from the easy booking process and the accommodating staff ..Meg was so sweet and helpful as we were coming in late and they assured us if we need anything don't hesitate to call. The campground is absolutely beautiful with the nice Riverwalk and access to water and electricity on our site with our little cabin was perfect clean and the bed was very comfortable with a fire pit complete with chairs. Also, the bathrooms and showers were spotless and the other campers are very considerate. I recently stayed at the Timberland campground, and while the campground itself is amazing, there are several MAJOR issues that makes me suggest looking into near by campgrounds such as the National Park Service campgrounds in the area (of which there are several amazing ones) 1) No tent stakes - The campground didnt burry their water and power lines appropriately, so rather than fix it. They just ban the use of tent stakes. The owners also run the place so one night that a storm came through they even went around telling people they couldnt stake down their awnings or canopies. 2) Power - The power at this place is clearly overloaded. On the weekend I was getting warnings that the voltage was in the 95v range (120v) The National Electric Code states that the lowest permissible voltage is 114 to national code at the furthest part of the line. Below 100v you can start to see damage to electronics and motors as this is a brownout. 3) Train Tracks - There are active tracks literally on the other side of the line of sites (lower sites are even worse as they arent at least elevated) and there are freight trains that come through regularly including all hours of the nights. The tracks are close enough that you can actually feel the rumble as it passes on top of the whistle, engine noise and wheel squealing. 4) Water Damage to Rental Unit - When I stayed I had family staying so I rented one of their rental trailers. The bedroom wall was leaking at the headboard when it rained and there was even a hole in the wall from the water damage and warping. When I let the owner know this they said they didnt think it was leaking anymore. 5) Guest policies - This was really just an insult on top of everything else mentioned. I had rented an electric site AND one of their travel trailers for a mini-family reunion. We had a total of 5 adults across the 2 units and they still charged a guest fee for the stay because ONLY 2 adults per site are allowed. I have yet to come across any other campground with such a restrictive and enforce policy. Its quite sad, like I said, its a charming campground, but between the being woken up jarringly at 3am by a train whistle or worrying that the constant brownout condition is going to damage your equipment, I just cant recommend staying here. read more

Loved this spot! Such a warm greeting from owners , they even let us pick a new spot that would accommodate two tents. My kids 7&2 had a blast! Loved the river walk. Stayed 4 days in total & only heard the train twice (which lasted maybe 2 minutes) my only issue was the trucks zooming by loudly at night but that's just life. Bathrooms stayed clean the showers nice and big. Loved being able to wash clothes. I would definitely come back here. read more

Laurie and Dave are amazing. I love this place, it is 3 and 1/2 hours from us but the trip is well worth it. I am absolutely in love with their pool and their Pine Lodge cabin. The mountain views are just spectacular. It is kids friendly and the place is very clean and they even have washer and dryers that is definitively a plus. I will see you next year again. My family and I stayed here last weekend and was pleased with it's amenities. the grate to the fire pit is my only complaint, too much space in between the grill portion to cook food on. the pool(didn't use the wife and kids did) was nice, the showers were clean, the cabin we rented was perfect except the grill and UN-level picnic table, bathrooms were clean and kids liked the playground. we didn't go through the walking trails or check out the river since we did other touristy white mountain things but will next time. there is a train that goes through at night twice but not a big deal. read more

We stayed here two nights, Friday - Sunday. We are regulars in NH and camp often, but never stayed here. We were pretty unhappy with several aspects of the campground facility. First was the close proximity of the camp sites to each other, as well as the proximity to the busy road. The campground map is highly deceiving from what we could tell, the scale is probably quarter inch = 5 feet. From the the map it looks as though the back row of tent sites is far from the noisy road- it's not far- worse- it borders active train tracks! And when the train rumbles through and blows it's horn- AT TWO AM- not fun when your tent site is no more than 20 yards from said tracks (ours was in the 90s). Next issue we had was the lack of cooking grate over the fire pit. There's only 4 rungs to cook on, and users are not able to raise or lower the fixed rungs, so the hot coals are far below the cooking grate. Why they can't spend an extra buck on the type of fire rings every other campground has is beyond me- they sell $6 metal grates in the camp store, but still- unable to raise/lower it. Next was the oddity of the fire truck ride at 8:30pm- the owner apparently drives folks around the campground on a regular basis and blasts the horn for everyone to.....enjoy. Really? Most folks go camping to enjoy the silence of the woods. You'd think the owner would invest in some better - actually useable fire rings- as opposed to buying a useless annoying firetruck. Lastly- firewood there is $7 per bundle- never seen it that high in all of NH- owner said it's because it's hardwood and bigger bundles. Sure it is. We got $5/bundle from the roadside a few miles down. If you're ok being in an RV feet away from the next one, then this place will work for you. We won't be back. read more

We were here 2 nights. I liked our sight because it faced the woods. Quiet, end of season..The pool was nice but it didnt feel heated to me. The fire pit needs to be replaced; its crumbling. The bath house is old fashioned, kind of took me back in time! ;) Nice library, game room, laundry. There is a t.v in the library w. 3 channels no remote, but thats o.k I wasnt there to watch t.v. The Wi fi...hmmm..Not avail in the campground, but it is avail. in the area where the library, office, gift shop, pool is. Unfortunatley, I couldnt even upload ONE picture onto facebook..The gate opens and closes for you when you enter and leave the grounds, I like that! After 9pm you need a gate card to get in ($10 deposit) very nice camp hosts!! I liked the pool I just thought it was a little chilly, and the lounge chairs need to be upgraded to the typical pool lounger chairs, not the fold up kind... Not much to do around there unless you hike or fish..We had a hard time finding good restaurants, we did find one. not the campgrounds fault though.lol Other than that it was all good! we may come back sometime.. read more

Will definitely be back ASAP. Husband and wife run the place and they were so nice. The tent spots are large and more private than most campgrounds. They have a river walk that's about a mile long on the Androscoggin River and it's breathtaking. Amenities are clean and the sites are well taken care of. It's only a few miles from Mt. Washington drive and shopping nearby as well. Can't wait to go back! read more

This was our first time to the area and we were not impressed with the campground at all. It may be nice for RVs but not for tents. Before you book here, know that there is a very loud train that runs about twice a night and is about 20 feet from the tent sites. Along with that on the other side there is a very busy road with logging trucks and other tractor trailers that run day and night. These two factors make for a very loud camping experience. Next time we visit we plan to stay in the National park sites. read more
