Finally, don't provide payment until you get a receipt for the work, as once I paid, he said he would leave a receipt but even after many many attempts, I could not get John to provide me a receipt for the work for my records.

A few weeks later, asked for another cord and Phil was prompt in responding and showed up to deliver 1.4 cords of wood. When he backed his trailer up into my driveway to dump the load off, he was going to block the driveway's access to my car. I asked that he move over and dump the wood to the right where part of the previous cord sat leaving a path in the driveway for me. Apparently that was the wrong thing for me to ask. Instead, he drove off in a huff. I realize backing a trailer with wood up a mountain drive lined with trees isn't the easiest thing to do, but what on earth is wrong with people? I am a senior with lymphedema so stacking wood is a slow, tedious task for me and blocking my driveway and access to my car would have left me in a very bad position, especially since it would have taken me days and days to move that cord of wood. This guy must have had a bad day and decided to take it out on me!
