We played 2 of the 3 courses on a Monday afternoon. The course was fun for us but I wasn't overall impressed. Also, tons of carpenter ants everywhere and spiderwebs on the rails which was a bit of a turn off for being in sandals and having a kid that tends to touch all the rails. Timber Falls Mini Golf: I've been going to the Dells since I was a kid in the 90s and this place has been around even longer than that as it opened in 1989. They currently offer three different courses that are easy, moderate, or hard in terms of difficulty. That's a total of 54 holes as each contains 18. Patrons can choose from a myriad of colorful golf balls to help distinguish them among the different members of your party. The course offers some nice scenic water features. A few sections of the property could use an update, but overall, the property is in good shape. Families can also enjoy the petting zoo, which features goats and a donkey. Pirates Cove is still my favorite, but Timber Falls is a nice alternative and typically less crowded. read more

This is a Dells classic. It's shaded so perfect for hot days. Beware of the many levels and stairs, you'll feel a bit like a Billy goat but who can't use a little exercise. The price is good. Don't buy food for the animals until the end or you'll have to carry it the whole way. read more

Staff was nice and friendly. The girl got is our clubs and we were ready to play. Ok first it's off season. So the fun stuff was turn off for the season. We played the drs course as the black was closed and blue wAs the easy course. The black was closed she did say why. So we choose red. It was a good course. Lots of ups and downs. Wow! Not to talk smack on the mini course across the street but this one is so much better! This one is basically a walk through the woods that loops around huge trees and scenic River views. Also let you know which one is best for strollers and let you no difficulty level. Also petting zoo with goats, but they were not there. They're only seasonal. read more

Had to wait almost 20 mins to be served. Customers leaving said the same. No one is ever at the counter. The course itself needs maintenance. Most holes had black moss or sludge on them. Weeds everywhere. The ball got horribly dirty and no place to clean it. Gravel and dirt littered the pathways. I even got a face of spiderwebs crossing one path. That said, it was 10 dollars for about 50 mins of fun. read more

Great place to enjoy a round of mini golf. The courses are designed well and the equipment is in good shape. I really liked the variety of different scenery and obstacles available, including stairs, bridge, barn, and water wheel. We were walking along Broadway when we spied what appeared to be miniature golf in a forested area. Mini golf IN the forest? Yes. To be clear, it's not remote. It's right off the main drag in the Dells and so the sounds of the bustle of Broadway can be heard. But, it is most definitely in an amazing forested area. Completely shaded, the course roams through the pines. It's hands down one of my favorite miniature golf (or, as my family calls it, putt-putt) spots of all time. There are three courses you can try (easy, medium, difficult). We went for the medium, which was great for our group (adults and a teen). Next time, I might even go for difficult. Nice to know there's fun options for small kiddos as well! Get to it! read more

As far as mini golf goes it was pretty good. Not a lot of interactive moving displays or walkways. Lots of stairs. Challenging holes. They offer 3 difficulties on the courses. We chose the medium. Each had 18 holes. We played with 3 children ages 7, 9, and 11. They all enjoyed it as did we. It took about an hour to play through. It's right on the water which is neat. Like mini golf? Awesome! Timber Falls has you covered! Like amusement parks? They have you covered too! However, make sure you call ahead during the off-season. As we were really disappointed to find out that none of the theme parks or coasters were functional. I saw no mention of this on their website or anything. I'm a bit glad that all of the other things were closed, though. Their credit card and debit card machine is down (and according to the cashier, has been down for over a month), so they were only accepting cash. Which was only announced by a hand-written sign on the countertop. The Mini Golf itself is pretty neat. There are three different 18-hole courses to go through. One is beginner-level, one is medium-level (and offers scenic views of the river), and the third offers the hardest difficulty with lots of stairs. The beginner-level course is designed to be compatible with strollers as well - while other courses may not be. We ended up doing the medium-level course, and it wasn't kidding around. Most of the pars for the holes were 2 or 3, but they were designed to be hard. While there were no moving objects to deal with, but there were a lot of elevation changes. With the hilly terrain around here, it actually was relatively challenging. There were even holes that temporarily moved the ball to a new location on a different level of elevation. The course does a great job of directing you to the appropriate next spot as well. The course was in decent condition. Spiders around and some of the concrete was cracked, but nothing was super bad. However, there were quite a few wasps around the initial cashier booth. We had to avoid four on our way to just get to the course. Staff was...pretty bored. It was pretty clear that they were bored of their job, and since their job mostly just consisted of sitting in a spot and selling mini golf tickets, I can understand why. That being said, she wasn't rude. She seemed pretty nonplussed by the entire "cashiering" experience. ALSO, we got....bonus chickens. It was really weird. There were chickens all over the green. I guess they regularly get out of the "petting zoo" pen because the girl at the front desk was entirely unconcerned when we told her. They were actively walking around on the green, and it definitely added an...odd and unique experience to our mini golf attempting to golf around them. This is a decent mini golf place. It'd probably be a 3-star, but getting to play mini golf around chickens and the difficulty of the course (plus the ability to choose the difficulty) bumped it up into a four-star experience. Note: Trying to save money? In the 2015 season, look in coupon books to find a "Buy One, Get Another Round for $2" coupon. As one round was $8, it makes it $10 for 18 holes of Miniature Golf. With a little more love, Timber Falls can be a truly magical place. But what's already there is a fine tribute to Wisconsin Dells as a family destination. I'm here for mini golf, *especially* if it's in the shade. Timber Falls has 3 courses built along the river, in the shade. Perfect. The holes we tried weren't particularly difficult, and it was a short walk from one to the next. Even though we didn't take the "scenic" course, it uses elevation well, taking us through a tunnel and over bridges and rivers to provide something for all the senses. The holes themselves are simple, especially compared to other holes at other establishments, but... 5- and 9-year olds don't care. Maybe it's because not everything is running after 2020, or maybe it's something else, but there were quite a few water features not running. In addition, while I like the naturalistic setting, some additional decorations to support the timber theme would be nice. A few bridges and holes (like the red mill, which is well designed but a bit weedy) could use some sprucing up or replacement. Overall though, just a fine place to take your kids. Especially if it's 93° F, humid, and mostly sunny. read more

This ride is in the parking lot of Timber Falls Adventure Park. I give it four stars, because if I were into thrill rides, I would say you get your money's worth. I have been on this bad boy once and once was enough for me! So if anyone sees my husband looking on wistfully, please go on this with him because I have retired. You sit, harnessed into your seat and are lifted 160 feet into the air going around and around at 60mph. If this is your thang, by all means do it. I could see Jesus from the top of this crazy ride. read more

Came for the mini golf. Were in the area, girls went to outlet mall, and us boys went to find adventure. As for MINI GOLF, Timber Falls was a great visit. Its not all fancy, but you couldn't beat the price. Son and I golfed for $10. Not a bad way to spend a few hours while waiting on the shoppers. Its all covered, so it was comfortably cool while playing. The only downer I can say is the the greens could use a little fixing. read more

Memorial through Labor Day they open at 9 and close at 11pm. After Labor day they open at 10 and close at 6. If you're sick of Pirate's cove or you just detest Pirate's in general I would recommend you try out Timber Falls. They have more attractions to offer than Pirate's cove an equally challenging courses, just not as many of them. The landscaping is also done really well. They have all day unlimited passes, night passes from 5-10pm, a rollercoaster, bumper boats, a log ride, MINI GOLF (of course) and a skyscraper extreme crazy ride where they basically toss you around in a cage in a circle, not my thing. Come for the golf! See where your day takes you from there! They have a cute volcano as part of the facility and it's great for picture op's while you're on a family or otherwise vacation. Great for kids, and dates. When they first opened up their main other attraction was the Log ride which was ultra fun, I don't think you can get me on the skyscraper ride though...without a huge bribe. read more

Mini golf itself was average. It's nice since it's close to water to cool you down on a hot day. A lot of people say it's better than Pirate's Cove but with the "Pick 5 attractions" deal we had, it wasn't available. Also Pirate's Cove seemed a lot more crowded than Timber Falls. The roller coaster was super rickety and bumpy. It goes pretty fast too but I shook back and forth so much that I had a twist in my neck. If you buy an unlimited pass, you get unlimited mini golf, 5 roller coaster rides, bumper boats, and log water ride. It's a good deal since it takes up almost your entire day for only $14 or less since there are plenty of coupons available everywhere. read more

We only did the mini golf part so I can't comment on the amusement park. There are three different courses, easy (blue), red (medium) and black (hard). We picked the easy with our kids. The holes are not well maintained. The leaves/needles are everywhere, making it tough for golfing. The edges are coming apart at a couple places. Overall, the blue course was just boring. Easy is fine but no fun decorations around the holes. I prefer the Pirate Cove more. It's kind of expensive, $8.50 per round for 10 and up. Our kids are 11. They advertise for kids golf free but it's only for 5 and under. read more

Not the best service. Workers didn't talk when we went to pay. Holes we're decent to play. I paid for 2 rounds of golf. Went up to go get another ball to start the 2nd round but couldn't since the shift changed and the girl taking the money before first round left and never told the next worker, gave me a receipt, or some sort of ticket to show I paid. Will not go back. Expensive and Pirate's Cove was way more fun and less expensive. read more

Beautifully landscaped, fairly priced (you can get an all-day pass which includes unlimited roller coaster and log flume rides as well as unlimited miniature golf for around $20) and the best part about this miniature golf course, is opposed to other courses, you do not have to be a skilled mountain climber to get around the course. A great value (unless they recently changed it). Unlimited golf, unlimited rides on the super wonderous log ride, and pretty sure they still have the roller coaster... I believe last summer it was non-functional. The golf courses are beautiful, right along the Wisconsin River, lots of shade (the only part that sucks is that one side is the Wisconsin River and one side is the parking lot). It is definitely my favorite place to mini-golf that I have ever been to. And the log ride is a classic - it's like ten minutes long (and if no one is waiting behind you, they let you keep going, hehe (how old am I????)) Love this place! read more

Scary (in a nice way!) roller coaster, bumper boats, log ride..what a fun for a family. They give you an unlimited pass and if you stay in a right hotel, you will get it discounted (check coupons at the reception). We had two roller coaster rides and at least 5 log flumes. My kid loved it!!! there is a moment when you go to the top, see the sun and American flag, beautiful sky, it just feels special. There is a separate fee for the Sky Scraper but it is totally worth it, it is very scary. I had it the second time (first one was in Vienna, Austria) and it still horrifies me. But get a video (they record it for extra fee) and you will laugh every time you see it! What a place :)) read more

This is an excellent place to golf. They have one spot you can golf in a wooded area, and another one away from the trees. They have a volcano that is soooo real. I love the sound of the thunder before a huge fire ball erupts into the sky. If you golf at the wooded course bring bug spray becasue there are mosquitoes all over. This is place is highly reccommended. Also they have ducks you can hand feed at the wooded location. read more

Nothing to complain about. Picked this mini-putt over Pirate's Cove, where I have golfed before. I remember Pirate's being blazing hot with no shade and wayyyy too many stairs, so the gentle rolling course at Timber Falls in the SHADE was my pick this time, and I am SO glad I did! First of all, very friendly staff who handle irksome groups with many small, orbital children very well. They had some charming baby ducks living in their waterway (safely enclosed in a part land - part water mesh area so they wouldn't be swept away by the current) as well as some bantam chickens running about (not on the course of course)! We picked the BLUE course, which took sort of the low road compared to the other two. The holes were quite challenging in some places, and always unique! The landscaping was great too. Plenty of benches to stop and rest, plus a nice view of the dam. It was a super cute date, and a great way to start our day! read more
