Bought a truck at this location. Took it back twice because of a noise in the rearend. both times was told it was the brakes when in fact it was the axle. Had the service department done their job or if they would of known what they were doing they would of seen it was the axle which would of still be under warranty at the time I was taking it in and I wouldn't of had to spend over 1000.00 to have it fixed elsewhere. **BEWARE OF TIM SHORT CORBIN*** So......I deleted this post after being promised the issue would be resolved but here I am again! 6 months later, same issue. See below for original post. They told Lexi she would have to drive it until the engine blows up then they could replace it. She bought the car to have a safe one for her 5 year old and a newborn. The vehicle won't accelerate and burns oil meaning she has to add oil weekly. Seems extreme for an $18,000 vehicle huh?!! I will give them credit for the oil changes once a month due to the lack of oil. They do cover that They shut me up last time, everyone from the dealership called me. Not this time!! I refuse to take this post down again! If you buy a used vehicle from Tim Short, have it inspected FIRST!! We have given Tim Short Corbin plenty of time to correct the issue we had without any success. Lexi bought a (used) vehicle from them and she has had to take it back six times. They continue to tell her they will call her back, but they do not. One of the issues was such that they changed her oil and she later found the oil all drained out of her car into her driveway. She had the vehicle towed back to Tim Short because she was obviously afraid to drive it with no oil and they told her it was a disintegrated oil cap. When she picked the vehicle back up from them, it was making a whistling sound. A noise that it was not making prior to taking it back to them due to the oil. She called them back and it was discovered that The car has a hole in the catalytic converter. Odd that it has a hole in it and starts making a noise after they were under it messing with the oil cap. Ironic huh....When talking to the salesman (who's name is James), he told Lexi he didn't know anything about the vehicle because they had gotten it two days prior. It would've been nice if they would have done a little inspection on this vehicle prior to charging $18,000 for it, right? Now I know that we bought a used vehicle. However when you pay $18,000 for a used vehicle you don't expect to have to take it back to the dealership six times. She did purchase the extended warranty that they talked her into purchasing and they keep telling her they will have to check with the warranty division before they can fix her vehicle. Granted, they did order the part and have her to bring it in so they could put it on however, they ordered the wrong part and had to send it back. She then spoke to them again and they told her, they cannot order the new part until the wrong part was received from wherever they ordered it. During that time warranty was not discussed. On Wednesday of this week, a manager, whose name is Andy contacted me because of my prior post and assured me the issue would be taken care of. Here we are two days later and still waiting on a return phone call with no resolve. Lexi had many car lots she could've chosen to purchase a car from however, Lori and myself suggested this car lot because we had successful purchases in the past. Lexi's purchase has been a complete nightmare. I have had many many people message me via Facebook messenger with their own complaints about this car lot. There is no way I would recommend anyone go here to purchase a vehicle. They pass our complaint from one person to the next with no resolve. Our next stop is an attorney. BTW, she's 24 years old and 8 months pregnant......they saw her coming and jumped on the opportunity to take advantage of a young girl who would be needing a "mom" car read more

I drove almost two hours to see a truck. I was in touch with the agent who knew I was driving two hours to see this truck. When I get there the sales woman tells me it was sold. Needless to say I was furious. I didn't expect them to hold it for me but the agent I was in touch with could have called me. To make matters worse, she tells the sales manager that she didn't have my correct number. But wait, it gets better as I get done talking to the sales Manager who needs a lesson in empathy, I'm walking to my car and I see the truck drive into the lot. I approach the "buyer" and ask him if he is intending to purchase. He handed me the keys and says check it out but talk to me first. Long story short, he was planning to buy it and had even negotiated the price. He test drove it for 30 minutes and as he was returning the transmission wouldn't let him put the truck into gear. He had to work it back into drive to get back. Thank God he got there 1st and saved me the pain of buying a severely defective truck. Today I log on and it's still available! One star is to high of a rating but it doesn't allow me to give zero. Took my Ram in for a warranty job. Explained what was wrong and they said we can fix it no problem. Ask if parts are in stock and was told yes. Made appointment for Tuesday morning at 9am. When dropping off they said it Norma takes three hours to do Jon. At 2:45pm they called and said they had to order the parts. Should have known them something was wrong. I agreed they said parts would be in next morning {Wednesday} by 9am. At 2:36pm I ed back and was told they would check on the progress and call me back in 30 min. At 3:35 I was finally called back and told the parts literally just got there and it would be the next day around 12 at the earliest before I could pick it up. I asked why it was taking this long when I was told they had the parts when I made the appointment.I was told a story so I asked to speak to the service manager and when he answered the phone after about a five minute wait he began feeding me another story. I then began to express my issues with the entire situation and was cut off by the manger and was told to calm down. I wasn't mad till that point so I told them to get my truck ready I would be there in a few minutes to pick it up. I would take it somewhere else to have the work done. When I showed up the guy called somebody and started talking about me so I asked for my keys and left the lot. As I left I noticed my truck had a strange smell in the inside that smelled like tobacco. I don't smoke so I know it was not from me. I would suggest staying far away from this place when considering a dodge. Extremely unmotivated sales team and management. They attempted to sell me a vehicle with worn out tires and only one operational key. When you put a cash option on the table, they are less likely to deal because they don't get the "kickback" from the finance companies. Do yourself a favor and find a dealership that is motivated to make a sale. read more

If you are from out of state stay away! They tried to prevent us from claiming the incentives and first responder discount until we called them out on it. Also they charged us a outrageous amount for documentation fees because we were from out of state. When we approached them about the fees and how they didn't match what our cost to register the vehicle would be in our state, they offered money back. Still have not seen it to this day. Terrible customer service. Outrageous doc fees. Tried to work a deal with Kevin but he can't handle any push back from a buyer. He has no personality, never cracked a smile. I refused to pay a doc fee and suggested he deduct it from the price of the vehicle. He told me to shop elsewhere. People need to wake up to crazy doc fees. It is pure dealer profit. Some states now only allow dealers to charge $50! The dealer gets the profit on the car, 100% profit on doc fees and whatever else they can bury in finance. If you enjoy over paying for horrible service Tim Short is the place for you. read more

Wife Took my jeep Cherokee in for a recall on ignition switch. When it went in both key fobs worked just fine when I got it back neither key fob worked. Took it in today 11/05/2018 to have the fobs checked along with the low tire indicator. There were three bad tire sensors all of a sudden. Was told I needed new key fobs $400.00 ! Not that much coincidence in the known universe folks ! Told em no and left suddenly there is a problem with the electronic brake system and abs ! I smell a big pile of bs ! We bought a new car from the dealership in Pikeville that was 2018. It was totaled Dec 26th, 2019. My Husband had lost his job and we had a period of slow paying, making our credit score lower than when we bought the 2018. We had to get what we could get financed. The salesman found one but it was after dark. We asked him to let us come back next day to do the paper work. He said no he needed to get it done that evening. When we got home the next day we found that one of the tires had a big knot on it. Also there had been a rat that are a hole in the back seat about 3" around. The tire pressure sensor was bad and the light stayed on. The only thing they offered was to sell us a tire at their cost.I realize this car was "as is". But I think they made us do the paper work at night so we couldn't see these things. They knew we were desperate for a car.Johnny Ray was not at all nice about it. We had already bought one new car from them and two when it was Deskins. They were nicer and more honest before it was Tim Shortts. We are still paying a lot for this car in this shape. I think they could have found us better financing with lower interest. Don't fool with them unless you are desperate. read more

Found a car on truecar.com that listed it in corbin, ky which was in our driving range, I called and inquired about it and she transferred me to where the car was ACTUALLY at which was 3 hours away from there in the other direction! I asked if they could move the car since its stated on THEIR website that its in corbin and they said not unless I put a $1000 non refundable deposit down. so I emailed back and forth with alex in Elizabethtown for a week and explained everything, I had my own financing, where we were coming from (5 hours away), details about the vehicle etc. my husband and I made the drive on a Saturday and get there to find the vehicle with HUGE scratches on the bumper, terribly worn out tires, and the brakes were absolutely shot. we took it for a "test drive" straight to a tire shop to get their opinion which was they do not think it would make it 5 hours w/o replacing at least two tires. they told us they do business with tim short automax and that they'd probably call them to see how much tires would be if we went back and complained about them. so we did just that, the manager Anthony, told us the tire shop they use is closed on weekends & it would be Monday before they could get tires KNOWING were 5 hours away from home. I said well that's funny considering the shop right behind your dealership said you have a commercial account so we want two new tires. we decided to each buy a tire and split it. I also asked if either one of them had even driven this vehicle because they would be able to FEEL how bad the brakes were every time you applied them as the rotors had such deep grooves in them from the brake pads being completely gone. metal on metal! they said they hadn't even driven it. they also claim all their vehicles are put through a multi point inspection... by who!? Ray Charles!? there is absolutely NO WAY an ASE certified mechanic would deem this vehicle safe to put on the road. Ended up purchasing the car and when we got home my husband immediately parked it and changed the brakes, theres another $800. I took it Monday to my chevy dealership to be inspected where we live and they insisted we take the car back or call the dealership to make them fix the BENT REAR AXLE on this vehicle! HUGE amounts of money. I called them, they said there was nothing they could do, and now I couldn't purchase a warranty through them because I called and told them something was wrong with the vehicle and that makes them liable... I've called multiple times requesting to speak with regional manager, or whatever they're called whoever is above the manager of the stores. No calls back, nothing. I decided to contact the previous owner of the vehicle as my loan officer needed a copy of the title to make sure it was free and clear so I had her name. she called me and we spoke for awhile and she stated she was shocked they didn't replace the brakes, tires and bumper because they took over $4000 off her trade in value because they'd have to replace that in order to resell it. She also told me that she had it at their dealership having some type of work done to it and her mechanic told her he didn't feel comfortable allowing her to drive off their lot in the shape the tires and brakes were in!! These people are a JOKE and absolutely practice terrible business, apparently not only from my husband and I! I would NEVER recommend Tim Short to anyone, any of their dealerships in Kentucky! read more

Gave me half the value of my car on trade in because they said that's what it was worth as they had a year newer of the same model on the lot for that price - later find that the car they referred to was basically salvage. They didn't fix scratches they said they would. Couldn't get a call back from anyone at the Corbin location or from Tim Short himself. They also upped the final price over $800 when we went to close the deal in secrecy!. They used all sorts of shady sales tactics like passing my car keys around so I couldn't leave.. They stole the ecig and raybans in my glovebox. Absolutely terrible place to purchase from, must be why they hide their Facebook reviews. read more
