The advantage, ones you know what type of beans you like, is that you'll have your favourite beans ready for you even if they don't have it in roasted stock. Let's say you like their "cowboy" blend and want to buy it, sometimes you'll show up and they're fresh out. Now if you pre-order your blend, they'll roast a small batch just for you. There was a deal going on where you could get a croissant and an iced coffee for $5. I got a regular croissant heated up and a grande iced coffee with a splash of oat beverage. I ordered through the Starbucks app and drove over here. I got a friendly male voice when I got to the speaker area of the drive-thru. I said that I had a mobile order and stated my name. He said that my order was ready and said that I could drive up to the window. At the window, he cheerfully greeted me and handed me my goodies. He looked at my nails and said that he liked them. I had Hello Kitty and blue gel strips that were over two weeks old on my nails. His compliment made my day. I thanked him. He asked if I needed a straw. I said yes. He was great. He hoped to see me again. So friendly! I enjoyed my iced coffee. It was cold and yummy. The buttery croissant was delicious. It was flaky, buttery, and paired nicely with my iced coffee. I came back a few days later to fetch my birthday drink. The first barista had the day off. I got an equally friendly female barista. I ordered a venti summer skies refresher. Okay, let me start by saying this. Their challah is the bomb. Perfectly executed, the slightly dense loaf has a nice eggy flavour with just the right amount of sweetness. It's not buttery like Chinese styled egg bread but it's lighter. It was love at first bite and I just couldn't stop - gobbling up three large slices smeared with butter. Oh yeah baby - this is carb porn for me. [feel free to insert cheesy music here] Next comes the delicious tea biscuits. Nice buttery flaky tea biscuits with raisins are yum! Toasted with a little bit of jam/butter, it's a luxurious afternoon treat with some tea. I've tried the other breads - raisin, cinnamon roll and whole wheat. The raisin bread had a nice texture but was a little dry. The cinnamon roll bread is a very sticky sweet loaf and the white bread just doesn't hold up. The whole wheat loaf is a decent loaf of bread - denser than your standard grocery loaf but not substantial enough. I'll admit - I haven't tried their gluten free products but they have a large variety. Butter tarts, brownies, bread... they've got it all. Overall, if it was just the challah and tea biscuits alone, this would be a 4 starred review. But because of the not-so great white breads and whole wheat loaf, this place rates a 3.5 starred review.
