Last time we visited, we had to wait for a very long time for food to come out, which I mentioned…read morewhen I reviewed them. They responded to my review on Google saying that they were short-staffed when we visited and the long wait would have been an anomaly, so we figured we'd give them another try since we were looking for lunch while driving through Dansville again. Exact same situation as last time. Our drinks came out fast, but food took forever. We waited 40 minutes for 2 sandwiches and 1 wrap. They weren't busy; there were two people who ordered drinks before us (and also got them pretty quickly) and another small group who came in while we were waiting for food and ordered drinks only, got them, and left. The food was good and the place is really cute, but it was really a pain to have to wait so long when we wanted to get back on the road. I want to be able to patronize the place, but we are not risking the wait again next time we make this road trip. Note on the drinks: My parents liked their chai and matcha lattes (I tried the chai and it was pretty good, did not try the matcha), and my mom and I both liked the bubble teas we got last time, but the hot green tea was just a Twinings tea bag. I saw what looked like different tea boxes on the wall, so maybe they have different options for other types of tea, but I would be inclined to recommend the tea lattes over the plain tea if all they've got is Twinings.

Living my adulthood in New England, I've come to accept the dominant coffee chain head quartered in…read morethat region (hint: It rhymes with drunken). However, when I head westward, I really appreciate the widespread locations of Tim Horton's "Cafe & Bakeshop". The coffee is excellent, but the key differentiator here is "Bakeshop", as Timmy's makes ALL their food products in each location, e.g., doughnuts, bagels, sandwiches, wraps, etc. Unlike the competing chains, Timmy's food items aren't made then frozen in a NJ factory, & anyone can instantly tell the difference! I've been to countless locations across upstate NY & across the northern Midwest, and this Pembroke, NY cafe is as consistently quaint/cozy as the rest. Our group tried a good variety of menu items and enjoyed them all - see pics. Good value & service as always. PS. Kudos to counter employee who noticed me pondering the baked goods display case on which doughnut to buy for my Dad. He asked what type i was seeking and then went and got my Dad's exact fav from in a freshly made batch :-)

It's Perry's ice cream which I like very much. The people who suggested we stop here to get ice…read morecream and celebrate National Ice Cream Day implied it was Kish-a-wa's own ice cream. Perhaps I misunderstood and what they were talking about was the wall with the incredible number and variety of sundaes available. We shared a "small" bowl of mint ting-a-ling ice cream, not a sundae. When I ordered, I was asked "what size?". I asked what size servings the people at the corner table were eating. I was told "small". Even though I had been told the servings were very large, I was not prepared for the very large "small". It was clearly large enough to share, so ordered a small with two spoons. It was only $5.50! The attached photo was taken after we started eating our ice cream. We'd eaten about 1/3 of it.

My daughter told me about this place. I grew up in Mount Morris but left years ago! The coffee…read moreshop is just how she described it. I had my coffee and scone in the shop and then came back to get a coffee for the road, traveling back to Ohio. The coffee was so good. I got a latte with almond milk and splenda. The latte was smooth which is how I prefer. The vibe in the restaurant was very peaceful. I love how much travel information there is in the space. The next day i got my coffee to go and also found fresh bakery items. I had a wonderful Pumpkin Chocolate chip muffin. It was delicious. I wish I would have gotten 2. My only suggestions would be better signage and maybe latte foam art. I did have a bit of a hard time finding it and then I realized that it was a stones throw away from where I used to live!

The shop and tea house are connected, which makes for a nice experience - after ordering our beverages, we had the option to sit in the cute tea room or shop around the pantry shop. The owner was working that day and incredibly sweet. She had a lovely selection of tea (as one would expect at a tea house, but I'm cynical) and tea related gifts. If I lived closer, I would absolutely make a date for friends and I to come enjoy the tea house together! As for the pantry - you have a wonderful curated selection of jams, hot sauces, candy, and more. I think I spent at least 30 minutes checking everything out (my partner is a big hot sauce lover). I also picked up some candy for road snacks (great selection of gummy candies).
