I haven't stopped by Jacked Up Coffee for a while but decided to grab something the other day. In regards to their menu, they have your usual espresso based drinks as well as iced versions as well. They do have non-espresso options like hot chocolate, matcha, teas, and tea lattes. You are also able to purchase coffee beans as well from their store as well. This place is take out only as there are no tables or chairs beside the stall for you to enjoy your beverages. I stopped by Jacked Up Coffee on a Tuesday afternoon where I grabbed a cortado. Service was quick and efficient and my coffee was made at a reasonable time. My coffee tasted great and was made well Overall, a decent spot for coffee in Yorkville!

We got the biscoff latte and the caramel banana latte from the summer menu. Delicious! We forgot to ask for lactose free or alternative milk but it's ok. The lattes were really refreshing and lightly flavored which is perfect. Not too heavy and you can enjoy the entire thing without feeling too heavy. Staff are super friendly and the drinks were pretty quick. There were about 3 couples ordered at the same time and we were in and out within minutes. I also appreciate that at the seating, they ask people not to use laptops cause it's really meant for people to come, enjoy a cup of coffee with friends, and move along. Not a cafe that encourages people to sit for hours and work, given the limited space. The seats are really comfy too. I tend to order various iced teas and food, and prefer Starbucks. On the whole, the folks there seem to know what they are doing, unless they are brand new. That's understandable. If I do order coffee, it has to be heavily flavoured, to mask the coffee aftertaste. I go to Timmy's a handful of times a year. I tend to get food, soup, or steeped tea. Recently, I got word that the TimmyMe app has been discontinued. There was a procedure outlined in an e-mail on how to transfer your balance from your account on TimmyMe to the new Tim Hortons app. I do not go to Timmy's enough to figure out what my password is. Even after resetting it, the procedure failed bigtime. The easier way is to simply log on to the new app and add your Tim Card number there. Done! I figured out that I had $7.14. With my newfound balance that felt like I had won a scratch-and-win lottery ticket, I decided to use it. I visited this Timmy's, which is on my route from work. I have probably frequented this location more than any other in the GTA. The last time I was here was August 23, 2015. Facebook has a fun way of reminding me of my memories. My post that went with my pumpkin spice muffin pic then was as follows: I haven't been to a Timmy's in a while. I decided to break my streak. Me: Can I have a pumpkin spice muffin, please? Woman: We don't have that. Me: Seriously? I'm staring at it. Her sidekick comes over and tells the woman that they do sell these muffins. Perhaps I should start my streak again. Today, I restarted my streak. Instead of walking into the store, I went through the drive-thru. The parking lot isn't exactly roomy, so you need to take care pulling into the drive-thru. I ordered an apple fritter. "No drink?" the woman asked me over the speaker. "Nope, I'm good." I replied. I pulled up to the window and used my app. She pulled out the debit-credit device. After about five seconds, she realized that she needed her scanner. The good news is that her scanner worked and I got my apple fritter. She gave it to me and that was it. I guess that friendliness is lacking today. The apple fritter was okay for $1.25. I could barely find any apple bits. It was essentially sugary dough. In short, I go to Starbucks because I typically have friendlier folks. There seems to be something odd that happens when I come to this location. Today's experience was much better, but the pumpkin spice muffin incident is still fresh in my mind. P.S. The apple fritters at Starbucks may be way more expensive than what you'd pay at Timmy's. I was impressed at the size of their menu that they could offer from their truck and I was also glad to see that they had more than just coffee as their name suggests. The iced tea was nicely sweetened and garnished with fresh blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, and a large slice of lime. They don't skimp on the ice so your beverage will stay nice a cool while you sip away on a warm summer day. While the price may be tipped slightly towards the expensive side of the scale I appreciate the little extras and details and great customer service to make up for it. It screamed Easter to me, but I like pushing boundaries at Timmy's. Is this dream donut supposed to be on the menu or was it an oversight? I paid for my goodies through the app with my Tims gift card. I then drove over to the drive-thru. I got a pleasant woman on the other end of the speaker. She found my order and said that I could drive up to the pick-up window. When I got the window, the woman said that the store didn't have any dream donuts. As expected, staff weren't great with updating the app to reflect that donuts they had. I asked what was comparable. She asked if I wanted Timbits. I asked if I could get ten. She talked to her peers and they said yes. I have said in the past that I'm not great with Tims pricing. It's still true, although I am improving. The FIFA Timbits go for fifty cents for one. A dream donut is $2.49. I could have got five FIFA Timbits. Instead, I got ten regular Timbits. A box of ten assorted Timbits goes for $3.49. I essentially got more bang for what I had originally ordered. Go, me! I got my drink, followed by the cutest FIFA-branded Timbits on the box. I thanked the woman and headed home. I love the raspberry mojito drink these days. It's fizzy, and the raspberry-lime combo is lovely. It was delightful. It's fairly large, as it's a shared location with Wendy's as so many are. It's easily accessible and has plenty of parking in the plaza, which includes a Denny's among other restaurants and shops. I came here most recently to meet a friend in the neighbourhood. I came in and was able to get a plush seat beside the 2-sided fireplace. You also have your tables and loose chairs, and plenty of booths along the windows. I went over to place my order, which was a $1 large ice coffee offered for doing the survey on a previous receipt. There was no shortage of goodies in the display cases, which was neatly filled to capacity with plenty of flavours for bagels, muffins, donuts, etc. The staff correctly made my drink without the cane syrup as requested. She didn't freeze and have any problem processing my receipt for discount. She immediately provided my new receipt as I asked. She was responsive and friendly as well as efficient. I was glad to see that my new receipt has the survey option back again, as my last couple of receipts were missing that. Yes, it's just a Tims, and it is just starting to look like it's going to get tired soon, but it ticks every box for what a proper location should have and be. What's even worse is that there was no warning, no signage, and the drive-thru wasn't closed off to prevent damage to other customers' vehicles. Instead, I was brushed off with a quick "yeah, yeah, we'll let management know," which felt dismissive and unprofessional. Now I'm stuck paying out of pocket to repair the damage to my car, all because of something that could have easily been prevented or at least clearly communicated.
