I remember going to Pagé's as a kid with my mom. It was a lot smaller then, but the smell was…read moreamazing, and we used to get a dozen freshly baked croissants. We usually had one on the way home, and it was delicious. At one point, they started making 2 different kinds of croissants. One was the doughey version that we were used to, and the other was a flaky version that they introduced. I liked the first version better than the second one, but I don't think they sell them anymore. Anyway, they've expanded quite a bit, and there are all sorts of food kiosks available now. I see that I already gave this place 5 stars from a review that I posted in 2012. It would be nice if I could get those reviews and my new review matched up, so that I would have even more reviews. The picture on that profile is from Nakiska ski area, which is where I used to go skiing in the last year that I spent in Alberta. It's too bad things didn't work out there, because the skiing is amazing, but I'm comfortable now in Toronto. Eventually, I might move back to a smaller place, but I doubt I'd ever move back to Alberta. It's a shame. I miss my friend Leslie, the skiing and the mountain biking. I hope she's doing well and that the people around her are nice.

This bakery was a very pleasant find on a cold winter getaway…read more Based on online reviews, we decided to try to place with my girlfriend for brunch and right from the start we were happy to find such a cozy and warm inside. Service was very good, we did not wait long for our drinks or for our food and the service was attentive. The place wasn't full around 11:30 which is always welcome when going brunching! We shared the mushroom cassolette and the ham and brie eggs benedict. Both were very tasty and the portions were generous (especially given the reasonable prices). Everything on the menu looked great and it was hard to decide on one item. On our way out we noticed the bakery downstairs had some very nice looking yule log (buche de noel) and decided to get two for later. These were absolutely amazing!! This made me decide to drive by the next day to pick up some chocolate croissants for breakfast and these were also great. All in, a great atmosphere, very good food and great service at an almost affordable price. I highly recommend this gem.

On our way to St-Marguerite, we were looking for a bakery to satisfy an almond croissant craving…read more We came across La Farandole which was a charming place. Staff is very friendly. We purchased almond croissants which were ok as we are spoiled in Montreal with fabulous bakeries. If you happen to be in the area and need a bakery, feel free to pass by but keep your expectations on the lower side ;-)
