I went to Tim Hortons with my family this week during our vacation to Niagara Falls. We went for breakfast last Friday & Sunday. I actually like the food better than Dunkin Donuts. I had the Vanilla Sprinkled Donut; Bacon, Egg, and Cheese on a Bagel, and Iced Brown Sugar Cold Brew Coffee. My family also had Bacon, Egg, and Cheese on a Bagel and regular hot coffee. The ambiance was good, we were able to find tables to eat & sit. My only complaint is that the line was long, there wasn't much selection in terms of donut flavors, and when I was placing an order the cashier forgot to ring up an extra coffee & bagel sandwich read more

It was our first time visiting the famous Tim Hortons. We were curious to find out about all the hype about this coffee chain. The place was clean but packed with long line for ordering and all the seating areas occupied. I wanted to try Hot Latte but the attendant said they can't heat the milk so couldn't take an order for hot Latte. I was little disappointed and didn't order. All they had in hot coffee was their regular coffee and I wanted a creamier coffee instead of a plain coffee with milk/ sugar. My husband ordered a regular coffee with cream+ sugar and received a free donut as part of their promotional deals. He chose an apple fritter. Kids chose Oreo milkshake and a chocolate cookie to share. Cookie and apple fritter both tasted good and satisfied their sugar cravings in the late afternoon. My husband liked the flavor of regular coffee he ordered and asked me to give it a try. To my surprise the coffee was really good! Didn't taste like regular coffee that we get in US. If we were still in that area and not half way to our parking spot, I would have definitely gone back to get another medium sized regular coffee. read more

Stopped by here to get a warm drink since it was freezing outside. They had a line which was understandable. I waited in it excited to order a hot latte, got to the front and was told the machine was broken!! My mom wanted a hot cappuccino, they also couldn't make that. My sister wanted a frozen drink, I was told their machine for that was also broken. Only things we were able to order were a hot black coffee and a blended cappuccino. The black coffee was my dad's and he said it was mid, that McDonalds coffee is better than this one. The blended cappuccino was also alright, nothing to go crazy for. Overall. for it being a coffee shop w a limited coffee menu, and for all the machines to be broken, I wish they had a sign saying that so I didn't have to wait in line. Service was good though, the drinks we ordered still came out quick, but our experience overall was very lackluster and disappointing. Probably wouldn't come back to a Tim Hortons anytime soon. read more

Never had TH prior to visiting upstate NY and Canada. I will say that the food menu is underwhelming and donuts aren't really worth getting. The coffee however is rather good, and I found their hot cappuccino to be spot on. Prices weren't too unreasonable either, and service was pretty friendly too at a couple of locations I tried. There is room to sit inside, but most locations have a drive thru. The one on the Canada side of Niagara Falls had no drive thru but moved quickly despite long lines. read more

Waited in line for a while (which was fine). Emotionless cashier informed me that they didn't have espresso. She said it happens often. No apology about it. Wow. You are a coffee shop. How do you often run out of espresso? I wasn't expecting much, just the bare minimum. I freakin' love getting Tim Hortons donuts every time I go to Canada. My family and I must've bought a total of 3 dozen donuts during our visit there last month. Shoot, we probably ordered 4 dozen donuts. My fave were the maple frosting donuts, without the cream, because the cream is just too much for me to handle. I also like the glazed donuts and chocolate donuts. Their hot chocolate seemed a bit watered down, and was PIPING hot, just like I had it when I last went to Canada. I think this is like the McDonald's of Canada? When entering Canada, we saw a sign for this place at almost every exit. They have breakfast sandwiches and lots of donuts. I read somewhere Canada has more donuts per capita than any other country! I believe it. Their maple donuts are pretty yummy. I got a breakfast sandwich-egg, muffin, sausage, cheese. It was good, but nothing special. It's just like any fast food sandwich from any other fast food place. I won't be rushing back, but I wouldn't be opposed to returning, especially when convenient. read more

We didn't see a lot of breakfast options as we were walking around town. We passed by this Tim Hortons and I remember hearing people talk about how good it was and it is a must stop when in Canada so we stopped in for breakfast. It was a very popular place as the line was kind of long but there was plenty of seating. I ordered the sausage croissant meal which came with a drink and hash brown. I love hash browns for breakfast. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have iced tea so I got a bottle of water instead as I'm not a coffee drinker. We also ordered two chocolate timbits. The sausage croissant and hash brown were good. Instead of us getting the two timbits that we ordered we were given two chocolate doughnuts. Ok they only lost a star because they overcharged me for a stupid apple juice box and argued with me. Otherwise they would get five stars. This was my first of many Tim Horton's experiences. We came here for two coffees. We are Americans and drink Dunkin'. TH coffee was 1000000x better. My husband said the double double was his jam and a large, 2 cream, 3 sweetener was mine. We got a coupon for 10 Timbits for a loonie (haha learned new Canadian lingo- after a woman asked me for a loonie and I was like is that weed?) anyway.... restaurant was busy, tables were clean. Restrooms in the basement, although busy were well maintained. Pastry case was impeccable and the line while long went quick. 6/29/15: So we just finished taking pictures of the falls at dawn. My first breakfast at Horton's was horrific so I figured Burger King ought to be a zillion times better. The one across the street had huge letters on the side of the building saying "Open 24hrs." But when we got to the door there was a sign hanging above the porch saying "we're closed." Wow. What a sad sad lie--open 24hrs my ass. Way to represent America stupid Burger King. Anyway we spied this Horton's with a smaller sign saying open 24hrs and it's no lie!!! So we got breakfast again. Different items... 1. Bagel Belt Meal C$5.79: My gf elected for their pretzel bagel. The bagel is alright but the salt is a little strong. Eggs are horrible. Very dry. Far more dry than McDonalds. The hash browns were stale and soggy. 2/10 2. Sausage Biscuit Meal C$5.19: Wow... The biscuits were black BURNT!!! Same horrible eggs. The sausage wasn't as dry as the last Horton's but we're still only a step above cardboard. Same soggy hash browns. 1/10 Seriously Canadians, what gives? These Horton's are more prolific than McDonalds in America!!! How can you possibly popularize such horrible fast food!?!? I would have given this place a 1/5 but since they did save our lives after Burger King tried to ruin our morning... 2/5 Oh and it is nice they have wifi. I love donuts in general, and I love Tim Horton's donuts. It may not be an extensive variety but they sure are yummy! What makes them so special? They're not drenched in glaze nor they're diabetic-inducing sweet. No matter what flavor you choose, they're perfect the way they are. My personal favorite is the "Vanilla with Strawberry Filling" and the "Powered with Strawberry Filling" (donut or donut holes). And the Iced Cappuccino was a perfect partner to my afternoon treat. Another reason I love Tim Horton is that they server other food items - soup and paninis. I wasn't able to try their paninis, but that's more the reason to come back to Canada. The chicken noodle soup was definitely hearty, but it was greasy. Nevertheless, it was just what I needed to warm down during a chilly fall day. This particular location is special because it's just a couple of blocks from Niagara Falls. read more

Stopped by this morning for some coffee and something to eat. My experience here was TRASH. The lady working the cashier was rude!!! I bought a sandwich and asked the lady making the coffees if I could have some dressings. She told me they charged and I said ok. I got back in line ordered the dressings and waited 10 minutes for them to hand me my dressings. They both pretended to be busy while they saw me standing there waiting for my dressings. Mind you it wasn't busy and they pretended to be. The cashier kept looking at me giving me dirty looks. A third lady came in and I asked her if I could just please have the dressings I paid for and said she had to finish an order first because that person had ordered before me. Which didn't make any sense to me since I was just waiting on dressings not a meal!!! If I was waiting on a meal I would've understood but I wasn't. At the risk of enraging the Canadians, I think Timmy's is just OK and am not sure why there is one on every corner and everyones raves about it. I like the tiny donuts have honestly have had much better donuts. The other baked good I have had here are OK. Another well run chain of Tims. This place is quite packed all the time as its in the middle of Clifton hill and if its a long weekend you will have to hunt for a seat. The service is quite fast and they keep moving the traffic exceptionally well. Make sure you order once to avoid lining up again. Ended up taking some of my friends from Connecticut to the Falls so they could catch a glimpse of the big waterfall. After a tiny bit of walking around we decided just to stop in side the Clifton Hill Tim Horton's for a quick bite to eat. This location has to kill it being right in the middle of every tourist stop imaginable. I ended up getting a turkey sandwich and some potato wedges on the side with a frozen lemonade. All of the food was typical Tim Horton's quality and very much did the trick. I'm giving this location 4 stars based on the size, cleanliness, and personal enjoyment of the food I ate. This is definitely a location I'll find myself wandering into again. read more

Yes, it's a chain, but oh man...a chain that does it right! The staff was SUPER nice and friendly. The space was very clean and spacious. And the donut was MARVELOUS. Some places can really screw up a French cruller, but not Tim Hortons. Oh no. It was delicious. I also ordered a ham and cheese sandwich. It was acceptable. Didn't knock my socks off, but it was perfectly edible. They even toasted the whole wheat bun for me. Overall, a great little spot for a quick bite. The whole area is filled with American fast food chains (Dairy Queen, Wendy's, etc.), so a stop at Tim Hortons seemed like a tiny little way to patronize something Canadian. read more

Canada. You lucky bastards! Tim Horton's was so delicious that we ate breakfast here twice during our three-night stay in Niagara. The donuts are incredible and not what you'd expect from a chain. My favorite was the Honey Crueller, which just melted in my mouth. The chocolate glazed, strawberry cheesecake, and apple fritter are also highly recommended! The first time we were here, we had breakfast sandwiches which weren't so great. The turkey sausage on a biscuit was dry and flavorless. The donuts are the way to go! The second time, we shamelessly ordered three donuts each and enjoyed our breakfast. There was a long line each time, but it moved quickly. I don't think we waited more than five minutes from the time we got in line to the time we received our food. Tim Horton's has started to creep over the border slowly in places like northern New York, but has yet to reach the midwest. Maybe someday! read more
