Visit #2 was lunch with five adults and two kids. I had the turkey Reuben, which was awesome. Anjelina had the chicken salad, and the rest of the group worked their way around the menu. Everything was good, and the service handled our larger group well. Visit #3 was breakfast. Anjelina and I both went with the avocado toast, hers on gluten-free bread and mine straight up. Both were very good. But one of the biggest reasons Provisions gets high marks from us is how seriously they take food allergies. We travel with our usual collection of dietary complications: Anjelina has gluten and dairy issues, while I bring a tree-nut allergy and Alpha-Gal to the party, plus the diabetes kicker. Provisions was VERY allergy-conscious. They understood the issues, changed gloves before preparing food for someone with an allergy, and generally acted like food allergies were something to manage carefully rather than an inconvenience. That matters. Now, about those baked goods... Outstanding. I tried the pumpkin brown sugar cookie and the apple hand pie. Both were excellent. Anjelina got the gluten-free oatmeal cookie sandwich -- twice. And I have to admit something that pains me slightly: the gluten-free oatmeal cookie sandwich won. Both times. The atmosphere is open, casual and energetic. It has a good vibe, although when it gets busy the room can get pretty loud. It worked great for our family lunch, would be an easy choice for a casual business meal, and definitely works for anything from a coffee date to a relaxed breakfast or lunch date. Three visits in three days: coffee, lunch and breakfast. Provisions delivered every time. And apparently I now have to live with the knowledge that the gluten-free cookie was better than mine.
