I have had insurance with State Farm for what seems like decades. I'll have to check. In either case I had been with Tim Crabtree for at least a decade having umbrella insurance, multi car insurance, home insurance on my home and then my condo, boat insurance, personal item insurance, long term health insurance, and probably some other items I'm missing. I specifically got all these bits of insurance to ensure I would be covered no matter what. Well, disaster struck when my condo was alleged to have leaked into the unit below it. The condo held me responsible and State Farm failed to cover me stating that it wasn't due to any negligence on my part. Let me get this straight, if I had cut a hole in my floor and run a garden hose to the unit below, my insurance would cover it. But because I did nothing wrong (according to Tim Crabtree) they weren't covering me. This turned out to be tens of thousands of dollars and my own insurance refused to help. In my opinion, what Tim Crabtree did was unethical, likely illegal, and still haunts me today. I now live in Texas and am glad I'm no longer with Tim Crabtree. Beware before you do business. Do some searching of YouTube and google for how any firm handles claims before you sign up thinking you are covered. I paid a lot of money for as much coverage as made sense. Yet, magically, according to State Farm, none of these policies covered my claim. Why do you get insurance? Make sure you're covered. Consult with an attorney to ensure your interests are being considered fully. read more

Update: I am still with State Farm Tim Crabtree's office and have had such a wonderful experience. I recently had a total loss (which is never a fun experience) however Pamela made the process so smooth and stress free. I have not only auto insurance, motorcycle insurance, and renters insurance, but also full business insurance with State Farm. They have helped out so much over the last few years, it's hard to imagine any other office surpassing their level of service. Pamela is amazing and makes managing insurance so much smoother. First and foremost, I would have never envisioned that I would be writing a review for an insurance company. I am the kind of person that loves to write reviews for either really exceptional service or when I've had lousy service. I can definitely say that with this review I've had remarkable customer service. Chad has provided me with some of the most pain-free, helpful customer service I've ever received. I can imagine that purchasing insurance can be very dreadful for some people, however Chad takes any anxiety you might be feeling right out of the deal. He's thorough, understanding, listens to your needs and executes perfectly. I was referred to Chad from my boyfriend over a year and a half ago. When I first initially reached out to Chad for insurance quotes I did not sign up because of my busy lifestyle. I did however ask Chad if he could follow up with me from time to time regarding the quotes because I was sure to sign up (State Farm's quotes were so much better than my current insurance). Chad did an outstanding job periodically following up with me, about every 2 to 2 1/2 months either via phone or email. Flash forward about a year later and Chad calls me out of the blue. It just so happened that Chad caught me at the perfect moment and I had the time to finalize the insurance quotes. A few short, painless hours later I was signed up with State Farm. Since then I have also needed business insurance, and who do you think I went straight to? Chad, of course. I called him on a whim and within half an hour Chad had a quote for me, and within the next 2 hours I was in his office finalizing paperwork. I am a firm believer that exceptional customer service and attention to detail needs to be recognized, and Chad has fulfilled that and then some. I was ready to change my auto and condo insurance on 10-11 so I called to get a quote first. My call was answered by a person named Phil, I believe, who said that he will "Try" to give me a quote the same day but would not commit a date or time. When I asked again if it'd be possible to provide me with a quote the same day, he got a little irritated and told me that he is "Very busy" with many other requests for quote. They really do add a personal service to you. I've been with them for years and am happy with the level of service and support from them. We really couldn't imagine going somewhere else, especially to some dodgy horrible company like Allstate or Geico. So glad we have honest and ethical people to work with. I've been a SF customer with Tim Crabtree for 7 years. Bethany has been a great agent and responds promptly to me, especially over email (my preferred method of communication). My son just relocated to the Bellevue area from California. He had been covered on our Allstate policy since he was 16. My working relationship with Tim Crabtree started out great. I moved from an online, no-local-contact provider to State Farm and was please with the initial contact I had. Personable and knowledgable. I brought three different lines to them (homeowners, marine, and two autos). Homeowners is paid through escrow, marine I paid a one-time annual, and for the two autos I set up automatic monthly withdrawls from my checking account. The same checking account I use with numerous other entities, and the same exact way I have paid for car insurance since the 90s. I went online to print off temporary cards over the weekend, and could not find my cards so I went to the State Farm website and my auto policy was not listed. Their after-hours weekend support informed me that my auto policy had been cancelled in July! I was floored. Needing to ensure first and foremost that I had coverage on both vehicles, I set it up again......and the woman asked me if I wanted to use the same checking account I did when I set it up in March! So clearly they had all the right information, it wasn't tied to a debit card that was cancelled, and magically they just stopped taking payments out. They couldn't do much on Saturday night, and the new policy is $110/month higher than previous. When I spoke to the gentleman at Tim Crabtree yesterday, he informed me that he didn't know what had happened, that it was probably a system glich, but that they tried to call me and send me items in the mail to let me know payment was due. I get plenty of junk mail so probably didn't read the snail mail, and Tim Crabtree's agent had called me so much to try to "sell" me more items that there's a great chance I saw it was them calling and erased the VM immediately. I have been told that regardless of why the system stopped pulling monthly recurring payments from my well-funded checking account - the same checking account that has had many payments pulled from it since July with no issues - there was ZERO they could do to try to rectify the situation and get me back to where my payments were when I originally signed up. Very disappointed in the lack of that local customization and "let's see what we can do to make this right" approach. Now I'm shopping unfortunately and spreading the word. I am in the business of people for my line of work, and there's an old saying - "If you don't brand yourself, someone will brand you" and hugely uncooperative in this situation for reasons I am in the dark on. read more

A former agent at TimCrabTree made a huge mistake in my insurance policy. He gave me a rental policy on my primary residence and a homeowner policy on my rental property. When I learned they made this mistake, I contacted them and Monica said that it was my fault for not making an appointment to review my policy! She also accused me of not responding to their letter(s) and emails. Once I proved to her that she was 100% wrong, that I have my phone records and emails which shows I contacted them at least 3 phone calls and 3 emails every year, she backed down. I finally got to talk to Tim the owner and he seemed a logical reasonable person. He apologized and accepted that his agent made this mistake. I'm glad that over the 3 years and 4 months that my policies were inverted nothing happened to either one or it would be disastrous! I was with this branch for 7 years, I signed up with Jordan and he was great... but since then I think he's left and now I've been dealing with Chris. Unfortunately, I've just cancelled all my policies because Chris pulled some shady moves with delayed cancellation when I sold my motorcycle and a reduced refund. He put my cancellation 2 months later than when I called in to notify them! He kept putting me off saying he didn't know what was going on and that he'd call me back... then without contacting me to verify dates, he sent out a $15 refund check and listed the cancellation as April 25th when I called on March 4th to cancel. Sorry, but after 7 years of patronage, that's a shady thing to pull on a customer. Avoid Chris. read more

I, like many, am always looking for the best deal but not always willing to sacrifice quality or honesty for that best deal. When I moved to WA last Oct, I shopped around to insure my two vehicles and a new renter's policy. It was then that I met Jordan and realized right away we clicked; what a great guy and what a true professional! Jordan was very patient when outlining numerous options for what best fit my needs then. Since our initial correspondence his availability and/or willingness to answer questions has never faded. I truly get the impression that this office treats their current customers just as good as those new customers every business looks to attract. I recently received a quote from my prior insurer in an attempt to lure me back, slightly better rate, BUT I can't help but hesitate about switching. Although I have not had to file a claim, fortunately, with State Farm I can't help but recognize the relationship Jordan has established with me. I had Geico covering my 4 motorcycles for 10 years and American Family Insurance for my home, Exotic cars and daily driver for 7 years. I ended up contacting those girls at Tim Crabtree's agency after Hinshaw's Motorsports on West Valley Road of Auburn Wa gave me a tip. I had always put both of my previous 2 companies coverage rates to a test yearly. Nobody could ever touch their rates...........until..........Monica Flory at State Farm..........changed that. :) They didn't get my home rate quite right but I did end up moving all the bikes and vehicles over to them. The rates are quite good but I also have stellar credit and a clean license and driving history.I don't know how rates would compare if I didn't have those items. The only hiccup to my coverage is if you need towing on something other than your car, then be prepared to pay out of pocket first and then get reimbursed back. Other than that, they are always friendly on the phone and coverage is super easy to turn on and off which I do for almost everything except my daily driver. I suggest calling the agents at Tim Crabtree directly for coverage changes since the national corporate State Farm people can be disconnected or unknowledgable when it comes to doing changes quickly for immediate coverage changes on a vehicle or bike.
