Complete Waste of Money - All Three Projects Had to Be Fully Redone…read more I'm writing this review to help other homeowners avoid the significant time and money I wasted, as well as the frustration I experienced with Travers Construction. After my father passed away over three years ago, I hired them for a basement water penetration project because he had trusted and used them for years. I assumed I could trust them too. That project was the beginning of the end. It was clear that water was coming up through the foundation at the front of the property... they insisted that digging a trench about 15 feet from the house and filling it with stone was what needed to be done to fix the issue. I asked them whether this would just result in groundwater building up against the foundation as the path of least resistance, but they insisted that wasn't true -- and that is exactly what happened. At the time I didn't have experience with these types of repairs, so I trusted their recommendation. They backfilled the trench with stone right up to grade and laid the grass directly on top of the stone with no dirt or topsoil. The grass died because it had nothing to root into. After the very next rain we had more water in the basement than ever before. When the problem persisted and worsened, they washed their hands of it and left. Their so-called repair made the situation worse and was a complete waste of money. Another contractor had to remove all of their work and redo the entire project properly. After this experience I was smart enough not to use them again. Only then did I look back at the earlier projects they had done for my father and realize every single one of them was also complete trash that ultimately had to be removed and redone by another contractor. French drain project (~3 years ago, around the time of my father's passing): The quality of work was awful. No filter fabric was added to the drain and the perforated pipe wasn't even connected. The system was failing less than two years later. It will need to be completely redone in the next few years. It was a complete waste of money. Patio / backyard foundation project (~14 years ago): They were hired to eliminate water penetration at the rear foundation of the house. They backfilled with pure clay. The project failed and water intrusion through the foundation started less than 10 years later. The patio had to be removed and the entire project had to be completely redone by another contractor last year. Their work not only failed to solve the water problem -- it was a complete waste of money. In all three projects Travers Construction delivered substandard work using improper materials and techniques. Every job failed, required full removal of their installation, and had to be completely redone from scratch by a different contractor at significant additional cost. They appear to prioritize quick jobs and collecting payment over quality or lasting results, leaving homeowners to pay twice (or more) to fix the problems they created. If you are considering Travers Construction, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. I trusted them when I moved to the area because my father had used them in the past -- and it cost my family substantial time, money, and repeated frustration. Learn from my experience and hire someone else.

He climbed onto the roof with his leaf blower (yes, about 10-minutes of noise), then ran a hose to clean out the mud and left over debris to make sure everything drained properly, cleaned off the porch (another couple of minutes of noise) and bingo - done! They are based in Harwich but have numerous clients in Wellfleet and environs. Friendly, efficient, no hard sells.

The list of failures would cause a doctor to lose their license, but fortunately for Duxbury Gardeners there is no meaningful licensure in Massachusetts. Less than a year in, the stonework separated from spa, a retaining wall failed, 10 plantings died and that was AFTER the construction woes of COLLAPSING the pool company's plumbing, cutting marked underground cables, the fire pit had to be replaced (twice - "it was a known defect", why put in something that is known to be defective???) and most notably running over the septic system line despite having been informed on location (and obviously having plans) - even after being told "you know - that's not a good idea" they asked my wife anticipating that somehow women aren't intelligent. Jason is a nice guy and good crayon drawer but this company is a pure nightmare. Hard to admit making a mistake that cost this amount of money, but hopefully it saves someone else some a bigger headache. This company will leave you with a lot more to clean up than just the cigarette butts they toss on your lawn.

Chris was always helpful with his recommendations and keeping budget and maintenance concerns in mind. Kirsten has done a great job with flower design, and renters have given us lots of compliments. Everything was always done at the busy early summer time of year to be sure it was all set for summer rental season. Danielle in the front office, and others are so nice and helpful too. We were assured this was all possible and a quote would be forthcoming. After a few weeks with no estimate I contacted Kiersten who said they were just waiting for a few more estimates on their end to give us our quote, it should only be a few more days. We waited a couple more weeks, still nothing, another delay but just a few more days. At that point we figured we would never get a response, we didn't or any sort of follow up. However, they showed up promptly for fall cleanup and did a good job. The next year the mowing rate went up again, now double what it had been 2 years prior. We grudgingly agreed. We also scheduled another fall cleanup. By December when they hadn't come we were given an excuse about not having enough good weather but an assurance that when spring came they would do the cleanup. Spring arrived, no CCT&L. Called with a reminder in April, got an excuse that they were catching up on work from the fall but said they should be to us in a couple of weeks. At the beginning of May I called again and was told they would be to us by the first week in June. When the second week of June came and went we decided to do cleanup ourselves. CCT&L never showed for a cleanup we had scheduled 8 months earlier. Ridiculous. More ridiculous, they didn't mow our lawn that year, even when we had agreed to their much higher rate. To be clear, they have our CC info on file and always billed us after they had performed a service, so their failure to come to our home was not due to any payment issue on our end. They used to do a good job, but I have no idea how they stay in business any longer. They still send me emails urging me to sign up for services in a timely manner. That must be a joke.
