I hired this company because of the good reviews on Yelp. Bad mistake…read more I was told that the running line of drops in the paint along the top of the wall with the picture on it, and down the corner in my bath, were because I had, "...sagging paint..". Interesting...because it never sagged before this paint job. I bought top of the line Benjamin Moore paints. On a 6 panel door, only five panels were painted. I did most of the spackle and patch work myself to walls before they came, but I did expect them to check each wall before painting. They did not. the owner of the company is a very personable guy, but was nowhere in sight while his workers were here. Most supervisors will stop by a job to check and see if there are any concerns...especially when no one speaks English. The workers were very sweet, but we had communication difficulties. Expect to spend a lot of money too, as they are quite expensive...especially when you have to hire fixer-uppers afterwards.

I had…read morenever used a cleaning company previously, so I posed a question asking for recommendations in one of the mom groups on Facebook. A couple of folks recommended Kavalla Clean, and there are ample reviews online, so I thought they would be a reliable choice. I was in contact initially via facebook, and scheduled the cleaning over the phone with Chris' wife. The day before our cleaning was scheduled, I asked if we could push it back a couple of hours as we still had some packing to do, and they were very accommodating. On the day of the cleaning, Chris called to let me know he was on the way, and I would say from start to finish the entire process took almost 2.5 hours. He and Rachel were both very friendly and easy to work with. I didn't examine the job that they did prior to making payment, but total cost came to $240, since they charge an hourly rate of $50 per person, per hour, and had two people doing the cleaning. I did leave a tip as well, as I'm honestly not sure what proper protocol is. When they left, I did a brief walk through of the house to see how it looked, and overall everything looked shiny and clean. I did notice a couple things right away though - the wall next to our shower still had visible dust on it, which I think probably should have been wiped, and the door leading outside had not been touched at all. This was where they had their coats hung up though, so I think that may have just slipped their mind. I was specifically looking to see how clean the floors and baseboards were and those both looked great. Fast forward a couple of days to our closing, and while my husband was finishing emptying some odds and ends in the basement, he noticed several other things that didn't appear to be touched. He noticed that the dust on one of the bedroom ceiling fans was still visible, and there was some dust visible around one of the doorways, the granite vanity top in the bathroom didn't appear to be cleaned well, nor the mirror over the vanity. Since our house was completely empty upstairs, one would think this would be a fairly easy job in terms of cleaning everything as there wasn't any clutter or furniture to work around. I was definitely happy that I didn't have to worry about doing a thorough cleaning prior to leaving and I think we left the house in a very nice, clean condition, but I think in this case the cost for us wasn't completely justified or necessary. Definitely a learning experience for sure. Going forward, we will most likely utilize a cleaning company that charges a flat rate rather than a per hour cost.

They had been recommended through our main contract with Kitchen and Bath (kiba) Studios of Clifton Park. I'm reviewing Dream Builders & Remodeling separately because of how pleased we are with the outstanding work they performed. Owner John and his assistant demonstrated exceptional skills whether working with tiling, plumbing, or woodworking. Because we needed extensive electrical work to be done John arranged for a subcontractor to do that work. John made some suggestions early on in our project that not only addressed the aesthetics of a room but also improved its functioning. He and his assistant always arrived to work at the scheduled time and put in a full day's work. They made every effort to protect the areas they needed to pass through by using floor and stair coverings. They were very pleasant and courteous individuals who respected our home and did not blast radios or swear while working. We were so pleased with the quality of their work that during a period of downtime while we waited for a cabinet to replace one that had arrived damaged, we entered a direct contract with John to upgrade the trim around the windows of three bedrooms and to paint the walls and ceilings of those bedrooms. There is no doubt that we will be contacting John at Dream Builders & Remodeling again when we identify another project to be undertaken.
