I ordered the Original meal with a single patty, add cheese (thankful she asked if I wanted to add cheese) and I went with the Beer Battered House Fries as my side. They were nice to bring my order to the car. The burger was cooked as requested and I loved all the toppings (red onion, lettuce, tomato, and pickles with ketchup and mayo. Oh, the fries were good! My wife ordered the Fried Mississippi Catfish with fries and coleslaw, along with jalapeño hush puppies. The fried chicken and catfish were the stars of the meal. Both came out piping hot, crispy, and well seasoned. My chicken had plenty of flavor to stand on its own, but the Sweet Heat sauce complemented it nicely and added another layer of flavor without overpowering the chicken. We both found the vinegar-and-mayo coleslaw somewhere between average and below average. I felt about the same about my baked beans. My wife thought the jalapeño hush puppies were average. If you want excellent hush puppies, Shrimp & Co. in Hueytown remains our standard. Both of our meals were also served with a thick slice of white bread, which fit the simple, down-home presentation.
