My husband was craving Indian food and we were in the Poway area so we decided to have dinner here. Service was good and the food was better than we expected. We ordered the chicken vindaloo and the dum ka chicken. Full of flavor and spicy! We ordered the $30 family meal and there was enough food for lunch the next day. We ordered the garlic naan and the garlic chili naan. Both were SO good though I wish they were a little thicker.

I stopped by to grab a large takeout order on Father's Day. They really fill the takeout containers to the brim, which is awesome. I thought the food was delicious, but my dad thought it was a little too spicy, so I sort of wish they had a "zero spicy" option. They have several options listed as vegan on the menu, which was awesome for my parents. I ordered the aloo gobi, Chana masala, bhindi masala, roti, rice, pani puri, vegetable samosas, and the vegetable pakora. While everything was good, our favorites were the pakora and the bhindi masala. The okra was perfectly cooked and they just burst in your mouth. We loved it! The pakora are so tasty and are kind of like hush puppies. So good! I also really liked the potato mixture for the pani puri - it was sort of like potato salad and so good! I really like the food here and loved having leftovers the next day too.

Came in for lunch and wound up doing the all you can eat lunch special! Amazing deal at only $14 and includes favorites like butter chicken, garlic naan and samosas. It is self service but food was regularly refilled. It is a little hot inside and water was not cold so did get a little stuffy but overall great deal!

Clean and my kids like the food. We usually get the Family Feast. That's a winner. Service is fast as well.

Felt like getting some Indian food for dinner and I used to go here when it was the prior owners. Parked at 4pm on a Tuesday and the place looked closed. The hours said open until 9pm so I tried the door, It opened and I walked in. Absolute silence and 4 people sleeping on the benches. Turned around and slowly walked out. absolutely wild.

This place is not bad if you're really craving Indian food. It's mediocre IMO. I ordered Garlic Naan, Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Goat Pulao (since it's the closest thing they have for Biryani). Kinda sad how they don't have Biryani. Garlic Naan was okay. It was as fluffy, a bit elastic, but super garlicky flavor. They're butter chicken is super soft, but the chicken almost tasted fake. The sauce is also good but it also tasted like straight from a can and they just recooked it and add more spices to it. They're chicken tikka masala was good. Their goat pulao though... hmm. Kinda sus. I've been eating goat since I was young but some reason the meat on this DID NOT taste like goat. Maybe 2 pieces were but the rest tasted like beef. I like the spicy kick to it though, super flavorful. Service was okay. The place is small. Feels a little intimidating sitting there to eat.

My grandson told me he would love curry tonight so we went to Creekside Plaza off Poway Road to Tikka Lounge, located between Subway and Crumble Cookie. We had the family feast with two garlic Nan and two fantastic curries: Tikka Chicken Marcela and Dum Ka Chicken a tomato based red curry. Both curries were almost perfect in texture and taste and the Nan was fantastic. The curry was so good we each needed a second bowl of tandoori rice to take full advantage of their thick deliciousness. It was one of the best curry dining experiences ever in regards to flavor and value and we both highly recommend it

Soo much smaller then before. Hardly non of the filling and mostly the fried samosa dough. It was good but not for the tiny rationed mini bites. I am disappointed to say... I have to go elsewhere for a decent more traditional size samosa. Shown in the photo is the size of the samosas. About 1 inch in length and width. I remember the samosas being almost doubled or about 3 inches wide. Pay more but get less.

This place is the only Indian restaurant in Poway. It has everything and affordable. A variety of selection for vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Plenty of parking, indoor dining and tables outside. I got vegetable korma, tikka masala samosa, vegetable samosa, garlic naan and roti. Both samosas are fried and comes with mint and tamarind chutney. The vegetable one is stuffed with potatoes and come in 2 large pieces. The tikka masala samosa is layered in sauce and stuffed with vegetables and potatoes. It comes in about 6 small pieces. I got garlic naan and roti. Both are breads. Roti is unleavened and naan is leavened which means that it uses a raising agent where as roti is not so it's flat. Both came out flat and tastes the same. The naan wasn't puffy anymore and came out flat. Vegetable korma came with rice. It's creamy and you could taste the nutty flavors. Had a bunch of vegetables, potatoes, cauliflower, carrots, and snap peas.

OMG! If you like Indian food you HAVE to go here. The food was amazing and the serving sizes were huge! When we went we did wait about ~30 minutes for our food. So plan ahead, but it is SO worth the wait read more

I have been trying every Indian restaurant around my area, attempting to find Indian food I like as much as India Palace in Hillcrest (delicious, but so far away). At long last my search is over. The location is in deep Poway, but it's easy to find with ample parking. The restaurant itself is clean and has a bright interior. Tikka Lounge in Poway is 5/5, 10/10, superb Indian food for Indian newbies to seasoned experts. It is naturally gluten free friendly (obvious exceptions included naan bread and samosas). I finally had the chance to check out their lunch buffet, which did not disappoint. I really hope they are able to establish themselves and stick around a long, long time! read more

Walked in and noticed they also offer AYCE. The lady at the front was very friendly and great because she took the time to explain everything to us. This allowed for a better experience trying Indian food. We'll be back for lunches. The food was cheap (10.99 for buffet) and delicious. read more

First time here for lunch. We order the lunch buffet. Damn good food! Food: I forget what we had, tried several options since it we had the buffet. All of the items were fantastic. Definitely ate too much but had a hard time putting the fork down. All the items were well prepared and flavors were awesome!! Staff: Very friendly staff and they made sure we had everything we needed. Location: Located in a strip mall setting with plenty of parking even during lunch hour. Overall: I was very impressed with how good the food was and how tender the meat was and lots of flavor!! Will be going back for sure. read more

We were in town visiting my cousin in Poway. Stopped in for the weekend lunch buffet. Customer service was outstanding and the food was better. Highly recommend. My youngest daughter has celiac and can't do gluten as a result. All dishes were clearly labeled and when we had a question, they went and called the chef to triple check. Great experience and highly recommended. And be sure to say "Hi" to Noor who is a super ambassador for the store. read more

The Bf and I decided to try this place after I found it on yelp. Short but sweet, the food was delicious. It takes a little time for your dishes to be prepared but it's worth it. We started with some very delicious veggie samosas and for the main dishes I went with the Chicken Seekh Kabob and the bf had the Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani. All with some very delicious garlic nann bread. The service was amazing checked on us often and made us feel so comfortable and at home. We will definitely be returning. Call first and make sure if they aren't catering that day because if they are the menu will be limited. We always drive from Chula Vista because the food is delicious. We came in today at 1pm, I was able to order the basics like Tikka Masala and Saag but when I requested appetizers(Pakora or Samosa's) I was told that my only option from the appetizer menu was crispy cauliflower. That's not what I came for. read more

Hands down my favorite restaurant for Indian cuisine! They have a regular menu and an all you can eat buffet for only a few dollars more! The menu changes every day lending to a unique and diverse dining experience! The business is run by super friendly staff who take the time to make sure you're recieving the level of service you deserve! 10/10 will come again! MUST try the Chicken tikka masala and of course their soft and chewy naan bread! read more

This is not where we had originally planned to eat today but happily it is where we ended up. Our whole party enjoyed their meal. I had the mushroom mutter and I think now that is what I will crave whenever I am wanting Indian cuisine. Their naan was absolutely delicious as were the tikka masala vegetable samosas and my husband really enjoyed his paneer tikka masala. We will definitely be going back. read more

We just moved here so we cant compare this restaurant to other local Indian restaurants, BUT we can compare to places all over the U.S... Theres nothing we can complain about here. Family owned business that we stumbled onto on our way home driving through Poway. We were impressed with the food. My wife is a huge fan of chaat and she said it's the best chaat she's had in a long time with the ingredients very fresh and tasty. In fact, she talked about it the next day which is a rarity for her. I had a standard chicken tikka masala and saag paneer and both were very delicious. The masala sauce was creamy and spicy/hot just with a enough kick. We definitely plan on eating there any time we are in Poway ! read more

I noticed this new Indian restaurant near the Stater Bros. market in Poway last week. So, tonight, I decided to stop by for a take out order. Ordered via Doordash. Breads were average, nothing special. Laccha paratha did not have much laccha. Daal makhani was actually good, pretty well made. The Rogan Josh was nice as well, save for the extreme amount of chilli. We also ordered two appetizers - tikka masala samosa which is their specialty. It was a couple of veg samosas cut up and smothered in tikka masala curry, which came to us in a paper container that it had leaked thru. Also ordered and paid for the samosa chaat (samosa with yogurt and chutney) and got 2 plain veg samosas instead. Finally, ordered kheer for dessert and even though I asked to be contacted if anything was unavailable, I was sent 2 bite sized gulab jamun instead. They were fresh and tasty, but not what I wanted. EDIT: I have been contacted by the owner, Abdul in less than 24 hrs of my complaint. He profusely apologized for the mix-ups in my order and explained that it happened during employee training since they just opened their doors a couple of weeks ago. Based on the detailed conversation and customer service I just received, I'm going from 2 star to 4 star. Will be going to dine-in for their dinner buffet to give it another shot as Abdul has promised he will make up for my initial experience! EDIT: Great family ambiance, very friendly staff, and good selection of food at the dinner buffet. Fresh naan coming out, and variety of chutneys at the counter! read more

The service is the reason for one star. Arrived before 6 pm Saturday. Place was about 75% full. Placed order. Still no food at 7 pm. Absolutely unacceptable--only reason given at 6:30 was that waiter misplaced order. They took the chai tea and mango lassi off, but that's irrelevant. We were hungry! Food was OK. Probably 2-3 stars. But you only get one chance to make me wait over an hour for so-so food. Won't be back. read more

Great spot for Indian food in Poway. Great food, small, quiet restaurant. Meant more for delivery/take-out and catering then a dine in experience. Very casual, friendly staff. The food is fantastic. We got; Pani Puri to start (very good, never tried anything like it, awesome flavors), Vegetable Palau, added chicken, and my mom got the chicken majestic. It was good, too spicy for her. The pulao was really flavorful and moist and adding the meat was a good idea! We will be back! read more

Not sure if they were having an off day but 2 of the 4 dishes we ordered were way to salty. The saag and the pakora to be more specific. Also, the vegetable pakora was pretty much salty fried dough. Their butter chicken on the other hand was very delicious. read more

First of all, do not go in there as a single woman. I came in alone and all the other couples were given their food before me. Even the couple that came in 15 min after me. Then, they replaced the chicken I ordered with tofu. They knew they could get away with it because I had a to go order. Food could have been better. read more

Really poor... Ordered takeout of mutton Hyderabadi and Mango chicken. The former was at least 75% bone, with hardly any meat (see photo) Mango chicken was bland and unlike any Curry I'd ever tasted (or hope to taste again) would have sent both back if had been eating in. read more

I have been to many Indian restaurants in my time, and this place is one of the best ever. We had the chana masala and aloo gobi, along with pakora. I am going to have dreams about this food it was so good. I don't know what they put in it that other places don't. It wasn't oily either. I hate that orange layer of grease some Indian food has. This food didn't have that at all. The flavors were so crisp and strong. The potatoes in the aloo gobi tasted so fresh and was perfectly cooked. It is too bad I was only visiting San Diego! None of the Indian restaurants I've been to in the East Bay of the SF Bay Area are even close to this good. I will surely go here again the next time I visit. read more

I was really craving some good Indian food but sadly this didn't deliver . I ordered what was to be friend Indian spice chicken pieces . They were soggy, rubbery and no flavor at all. The samosas although a bit soggy did have great flavors . Tandoori chicken also a bit rubbery as well as the Naan chewy. I wonder if they heated things previously cooked in the microwave . I will stick to my other Indian places We ordered the butter Nann, crispy fried chicken piece , tandoori chicken , 2 samosas . read more

I had an absolutely terrible experience at this so-called "Indian restaurant." First off, their advertising is a complete lie--they claim to have a buffet, but when I got there, they said they don't offer one anymore. Why keep it on your signs and menu if it's not true? False advertising at its finest. The customer service was downright atrocious--rude employees who acted like I was inconveniencing them by simply being there. No apologies, no effort to make things right, just attitude and eye rolls. The food wasn't even worth the hassle; it was mediocre at best. Save your money and avoid this place--horrible service, dishonest claims, and a staff that clearly doesn't care. The place doesn't have good ambiance either. The new $13.99 lunch buffet is mediocre at best, offering basic selections with somewhat stiff naan. The attractive deal of entree+naan+soda for $7.99 is no longer available. This is a great place to go for traditional Hyderabadi cuisine. Their dum biryani and chicken tikka was very nice. The samosas were also very well done. This place reopened under a new management. This was our second time eating at Tikka Lounge. We wanted Indian food last Friday and while eating, noticed they had a weekend buffet, and decided to come back because everything was so good.
