Her nachos were compiled of mostly soggy lettuce, my burrito had giant slices of fresh jalapeños that I was unaware of and those dominated what flavor it did have and sadly even our chips were hard tasteless. I didn't know what to expect walking into Tijuana Flats. Of course I've seen several locations around town, but had never made my way into one. Walking into this location, the vibes give bougie Taco Bell. Maybe I'd come here on a date as a teenager. I ordered two Bangin' Chicken tacos and the $5 margarita. No flavor options, and it comes premade out of a machine, but hey, a deal is a deal, right? The cashier directs our attention to the salsas. This is definitely a nice bonus. A variety of 30 or so, varying flavor profiles and heats. The food came out about 10 minutes later, and it was surprisingly good! Authentic? Gourmet? No, but good nonetheless. I was full, but several of their desserts also caught my eye. There's definitely a place for Tijuana Flats in the food scene. Cheap, tasty, large variety in the salsas. I have a severe allergy to beef and pork(Alpha Gal Syndrome). The staff is ALWAYS very understanding and goes above and beyond to make sure there is no cross contamination. They cook my blackened chicken in a separate pan and, in addition to typing it on the order, they visit the chef in the back to remind them of the allergy. The staff here outstanding, the manager helped walk me to my car with my order as I had multiple bags and drinks. I placed my order online and came in to pick up. I truly appreciated that our order was ready to go when we arrived. I didn't see the pick up order side when I came in. The lady working at the counter was very sweet and walked to me over to the pick up area where my order was waiting for me along with my drinks. We ordered the street corn chicken bowl, street corn steak flautas, kids meal that came with chicken nuggets, chips, apple sauce, and juice. Ordered one street corn on the cob and the churro bites. I didn't realize how much food came with what we ordered, there is plenty of food to share. I wasn't able to finish the flautas but I will have them for lunch tomorrow. :) The corn added a nice sweet crunch. The steak was tender and the toppings were delicious on top. My husband had the street corn chicken bowl, he said it had a wonderful flavor I unfortunately couldn't try it as I was stuffed. I most likely ruined my appetite by eating the churro bites first ha ha. I would have loved a bit more cinnamon/sugar on the bites to give it that churro flavor but they were very tasty, I loved the strawberry dip. Our sodas could have used more syrup, I am not sure when I ordered was prepared so it could have been the ice that made it a bit flat. The chips that come with the meals are sooooo good!!! My family and I received the same great customer service as always from TF. They are so dedicated to making the customers happy. A manager overheard my issue with a coupon that was expired and after I sat down came by and gave me a gift card for a future purchase. THATS SERVICE! Our food was fresh as always. I had the Tinja tacos and they were good soft tacos but not my idea of Tinja. My husband had the new fajitas tacos and said the peppers in them were tasty. The patio area is large and was perfect for my family who comes with 4 and my daughters little dog. It is partially covered for the coldest wind of Florida's weather. We needed a nourishing but swift lunch and headed for Tijuana Flats. I also had an app offer for a free dessert for my birthday! My husband selected his ground beef burrito right away but I had to have the manager arrange for me to get an unseasoned chicken breast cooked for my chicken burrito (onion allergy). He did offer to do this which was very nice! I wanted an order of their new garlic-Parmesan wings but, alas, onion salt was in the seasoning. So I got an order of six plain. Thank you Yelp for the street corn takeover and Tijuana Flats for the great food. But you're probably wondering why my review is only 1 star. Never had I've ever had experienced such rude service. When I went to order, the girl pretended to be friendly, but didn't fill my soda all the way and waited for me to leave without giving me a receipt since I've ordered additional items outside the Yelp Experience. When I asked for my receipt, she then told me the roll was out but will bring it to me with my food (never received it). Could've told me that right away instead of having me just there waiting for it. We decided to sit outside and enjoy our food. During the time we did, the outdoor seating was half filled, and the servers came out multiple times and checked on everyone else BUT US. Checked all the tables, asking if they needed refills or anything, and then walked right by us just looking at us. RUDE AF. The food though was good, I had the flautas and my guest had the bowl. But I did not get the chips with my entree. My review is probably the odd one out, but I've never had such horrible service in my life. And they were not short staffed either, it was very obvious that we were ignored and made to feel unwelcome. Stopped at Tijuana Flats on way home from hiking....craving some tex-mex. Super glad because it was a beautiful day, outdoor patio was calling our names...and....we had our dog. Isn't that fabulous....they allow your dog (well behaved) on the patio. Winning! We had the fajita tacos (had them from yelp event and just loved them) and the enchilada plate. Yummy....you know it's good when all talking stops when the food is there. The staff was friendly, helpful, and surprisingly they keep an eye on your needs outside. Tijuana Flats was somewhere I used to go near work but now working from home, it kind of left my mind. Thanks to a virtual event, I found out there was a location in Fleming Island which is closer to my home. I really like that you can order online as it makes ordering so much easier. I arrived about 20 minutes after placing my order, my order was ready to be picked up. I got home and everything was prepared perfectly and was packaged with care. The fajita tacos were great, a new and fun item on the menu. I got it with rice and beans which were very good. The chips and queso were good. I like that they season their chips and love when I get an especially seasoned chip The chimichanga was very good and my modifications to it were done perfectly. The churros were lovely. Their burritos are great and you can get them wet if you would like. They have some of my favorite churros in town. If you go, you must get them. The restaurant was nice and clean and the employees were very friendly. They have a to-go section in the back where you can grab your order. They have beer as well as soft drinks available and a medley of hot sauces to please pretty much everyone. read more

I would like to give a huge shout out to the staff and incredible manager at Tijuana Flats in Fleming Island for going above and beyond and providing a great meal. I had my usual Megawanna burrito which was great as usual but what truly stood out was the level of service. I almost always take my food to go as I arrive usually around 30 minutes to closing time after work. Today I got off work a bit earlier and decided to eat food at the restaurant. The staff was so kind provided an awesome meal. The best part though was the manager who patiently waited for me to fully enjoy my meal provided refills and extra sides and did not rush me at all even when I stayed to finish my meal 15 minutes past closing time. Amazing service and really appreciate the manager allowing me to finish at my own pace after a long day at work I left Tijuana Flats feeling satisfied no longer Hangry and relaxed. Idk what happened to tijuana flats. Last time I went was in 2018. Fast forward to 2022, they're serving all taco shell, no taco. See photo. Could not believe I had to pay money for a nearly empty taco shell. Was so bad, I literally walked to Taco Bell next door, paid the same amount of money for twice the amount of food, and it was still better. So sad to see this happen to Tijuana Flats :( read more

I stopped in to TF with my 3 kids, 2 of whom were in the process of making me glad that TF had a happy hour special happening The atmosphere is festive and you order at the counter, with food then brought out to you. We ordered, were given our fountain drinks immediately and then sat for a short wait for our food. In the meantime, I visited the hot sauce bar for a few of the less hot varieties. (I do wish that they had a temp scale to let me know where they fall in hotness) Chicken Nachos: HUGE and too much for my 15 year old big eater. He was impressed with the mountain of toppings. Chicken Salad: wheat tortilla bowl was good and filled with fresh ingredients. The avocado ranch dressing was thick and good. The bowl could have been filled more. Kids Nachos: not the best deal with chips available as a side with anything and these coming with orange Queso and tomatoes and lettuce, but no meat. It also comes with a small drink and an applesauce. Kids Quesadilla: basic and as expected, with drink and applesauce plus chips. $2 draft Mexican beer from 2-7 is good, and staff came around to ask about refills, and they clear your table. Chicken, blackened chicken, pork and beef tacos. Only tried the tacos so can't speak of anything else buttery are yummy and filling. Even have soft whole wheat tortillas. Kids love it too. Traditionally I'm not a big fan of Tijuana Flats. I think the food is average at best generally and as someone who really loves Mexican food (I grew up in the southwest) I usually pass on going here because it's just average. My visit on Saturday however was anything but. We'd come in just as they opened and were greeted by such nice staff. The food all around was so fresh and much more flavorful and delicious than any other time I'd ever been there. Thank you so much for making a our lunch so pleasant and enjoyable. read more

Wanted Mexican for lunch so we gave this spot a try. Ordered a bad ass burrito and she had the tacos. Made to order and had a beer to pair it with. Was good as looked. They have several sauces to choose from which was fun to experiment. If your looking for fine dining this isn't your spot but if your looking for taco truck meets a rock and roll/mellow mushroom motif this is your spot. Large patio area with plenty fans. I came down fairly hard on Tijuana Flats previously and I'm here to set the record straight. I'm not reversing my decision about the food taste, because it's most certainly not Mexican, but I am here to say that it's better than I thought. I went with someone who loves TFs and that led to my trying something other than plain meats. I chose the blackened chicken (also added beans and rice) this time and it really made a difference. I actually enjoyed my food and I was thoroughly surprised. I still don't like the huge selection of vinegar based hot sauces or those chips with no salsa, but I'll survive. read more

Unfortunately, our days at Tijuana Flats are over. The quality of the food and the portions were frugal and odious. The atmosphere was murky and drab. The walls appeared as though someone threw a chair and used it as practicing targeting on a dart board. The portions of my two tacos were $12! Crazy, because I was supposed to receive chicken on it and couldn't find the chicken! The burrito my spouse got was nothing but sour cream and no cheese and maybe a pinch of hamburger meat. The salsa was insipid along with the scanty portion of chips. I understand times are rough but this shouldn't have such a big impact on your quality of food. Too many other places to choose from with better quality food and a plush atmosphere. read more

Absolutely love this restaurant, they are reasonably priced and the food is amazing, if I could I would eat here everyday. There is always something cool on the ceilings and walls to look at and the hot sauce bar is amazing, they have a kids food option and give you temporary tattoos for the kids as-well. This was my first visit to a Tijuana Flats and I must say I was very impressed. I got the tacos for Taco Tuesday. One soft flour and one crunchy corn. Both were blackened chicken. When they brought them out I was very surprised at the size of the tacos. They came with chips and sauce. We also got the chips and queso for an appetizer. My oldest sister introduced me to this place on the island & it's one of my nephew's favorite places to eat, so I said "what the heck? food & family time--I'll try it!" I love crunchy tacos and that is usually what I order with a side of their chips and salsa, of course. I like that they offer this amazing sauce bar that offers everything under the sun regarding taco sauces. I am a huge sauce whore so this place was fine by me. The food always comes out in a timely fashion. The food is pretty fresh and tasty considering it's what I call American-style Mexican food. And we always receive friendly service from the cute little bubbly staff members. We have one over on my side of town, but I haven't tried that location yet. I'm sure it's all good. :) read more

Every time I go here they get my order wrong. Recently they put meat in my vegetarian Burrito and I didn't notice until it was in my mouth. The lettuce often tastes of swampy water too. The staff are polite but don't seem to care when I point out they got my order wrong. Often, the core sauces are empty or missing. read more

When you call for an order for carry out, do you really need to mention that you want curbside pick up? And shouldn't be employees that are walking around the building trying to do refills and take care of the trash etc., should they be coming out and checking the curbside people periodically to wonder why they've been sitting there so long? read more

The food here is very good and an ok value. I think this place could clean up some of the language posted here and there . This is marketed as a family restaurant but has more of an adult vibe.
