The final ruling for our case has not yet been issued, but as a client, I do feel that I have been very well served by their law firm, and I owe them my gratitude no matter how our case is decided. In addition to bringing in a highly knowledgeable and capable team, they have also operated in an extremely ethical manner. This is very important to my wife and me, based on our personal beliefs. Far too many law firms, including the large, international corporate firm retained by the respondent for defense, use dirty tricks to confuse witnesses, distort evidence and try to pull a fast one on inattentive judges. Ms. Panto and Ms. Gomerman have operated strictly based on truth, facts and the Law. I feel like I can hold my head up high, knowing that working with them, I have also operated in a manner that I can be proud of. If you find yourself in a dispute with an employer, you are likely to be offered a small sum of money, to waive your right to litigation. Deep down, you might believe that the employer is right, and in that case, accept the payment and move on. However, if you believe that you really were treated in an unfair or unethical manner, I would urge you to speak to this team, before giving the employer a free pass. If a company mistreats you and you do nothing to object, that is just an invitation for them to hurt other people. In some cases, you may be right from an ethical standpoint, but may lack the legal basis for a case. Ms. Panto is very capable of making that determination. Currently they're handling payroll for my non-profit Reading Partners in Oakland. We're in several states, and have a very complex payroll with AmeriCorps members who are SUI-exempt. ADP couldn't get it right and numerous other vendors told us they had no idea how to handle that complexity. Payroll Systems' Tony Bowden sat in the demo and when we asked how that would be handled he said "I'll need to think on that one because it's a bit unusual" and about 10 minutes later he said "I've got it...we'll handle it by pay code." Done. Not a single issue since go-live, no vendor errors, no vendor-created tax amendments. With ADP we had, on average, 6 tax amendments each year, all due to ADP's system limitations. Great software, great people, accurate processing of all transactions; then top it off with phenomenal customer service. Call and guess what? You're not a "case number" or a "company code" or a "ticket number". You're a person with a name and usually the person who answers the phone knows you by voice. You get a dedicated rep, quick response time, and the benefits administration piece our employees love because the response is quick and accurate. Make the move - you won't regret it!
