Claim submitted on a Friday, windshield replaced (first time) on following Monday. Safelite came to my house which was convenient! Joshua was very, very polite and professional. My wife dealt with him while I was at work. It was very hot and sunny that day. I came home to find a gap between the factory plastic and the bottom of the windshield. I contacted Josh and he was very quick to come out the next morning and try to fix the gap. While trying to do so he splintered the edge of the windshield. He was very apologetic and offered to repair or replace the whole thing. I obviously opted to repair it to factory. I asked for an OEM replacement, he asked his boss who quickly said no way. I guess Progressive only wants to pay for a cheaper, substitute? Either way, Josh apologized and set up a new replacement time. Fast-forward to today (Friday), I was off work and Domineck contacted me to say he was on his way. In my driveway on a 70 degree, cloudy morning, Dom was able to cleanly remove the 1st replacement windshield, install the 2nd, properly install plastic FORD hardware, clean around the windshield, reinstall the front-facing camera/rain sensor/auto-dim accessories, and provide friendly conversation while doing so! The accessories were difficult to snap back into place but that is no fault of Dom's. That's just a modern product not being user friendly. All in all, both guys were a pleasure to work with. Dom was just more experienced and patient, I guess. Josh had a hot, rushed afternoon working against him. No harm, no foul. All's well that ends well. I haven't checked the lane-assist or auto-dim sensor but I'm sure it's fine considering how little it is affected by the glass itself.

I prefer to work with local businesses. I received a call from Toalson Glass the same day I filed my claim. Mariana was able to take my VIN # to check the specifications of my windshield/car and get me in the following week. I was given the option to go to the office or do on-site service. I chose to go to the office. They pulled my car in and got right to work. The staff was friendly, and professional, and provided excellent work. They filed everything with my insurance, so I didn't have to do anything but pay my deductible. I would recommend them for all your windshield needs.

They refused to pay for it claiming it must have been like that before he hit it (I assure you it was NOT) and it started a huge fiasco. So, instead of taking them to court and paying more in court fees than it would cost to just replace the windshield, I just decided to replace it myself since it was a hazard. I was referred to Mark's Mobile Glass through O'Reilly saying they were the best in the business. They weren't lying! When I called, I was quoted $202 to have it replaced, which was about a hundred dollars cheaper than all the other places I tried! Unfortunately, I was having a hard time trying to find a day that worked for me to bring my car in to get my windshield replaced, since I work long hours during the week. They said "oh its no problem, we'll just come to you! Don't worry, there's no extra charge involved. (uhhh SWEET!) They said they would be by my work some time on Monday, and I got a call at about 10:30 am. They were fast, super efficient, and the guy even offered to put my rear view mirror back on at no extra cost (which may seem like no big deal, but it had that huge chunk of glass still stuck to it from the car wash fiasco, and it also had some industrial strength velcro stuck to it from me trying to rig it myself to stay on my windshield.) I paid with my card, and he called it in for me. It was exactly the $202 that I was quoted. No hidden fees or extra costs, and they made sure when they quoted me to give me the full price after taxes, which I really appreciated. Call my work phone or my Aunt's phone, and gave them both of those numbers. What would you know? They called my cell phone while I was in work and Terry canceled my appointment. So I rescheduled for Today. I reiterated that they needed to call my work phone number. I made sure they had my work phone number as the primary number and my extension. What do you think happened? They called my freaking cell phone... AGAIN...and then the work number... but didn't bother putting in the extension? Matt canceled my appointment. AGAIN. So I rescheduled at the Vandiver location for a drop off instead, because I'm over mobile repair.

Even though my vin was provided at the time of scheduling, they claim the window I needed should've been laminated, the one they brought was not. SECOND ATTEMPT: the tech arrived and they had the laminated window, just not the correct window. They had the back passenger window; should've been the driver front window... THIRD ATTEMPT: the tech arrived, with a trainee. The window was replaced. Upon them returning my keys, the tech stated, "The window is under warranty not for another chip, but for any damages we may have caused." What a weird thing to say.... The next day I was on my way to work. I rolled the window down and it wouldn't go back up. I ended up having to leave my car in the parking lot at work, in Columbia's crime-infested glory, with the window down, the entire day. I called Safelite as soon as I got to work and, after an 18-minute hold, informed me there were no techs available to fix the window until that weekend. This was four days out. I accepted as this was my only option. FOURTH ATTEMPT: the tech arrived, he said he had the correct window and would have it replaced in less than 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, the tech informed me that while they did have the correct laminated glass needed, the window I actually needed was "bowed" and he didn't have this window. He informed me sometimes this "is how they're made in the factory". He assured me I would be getting a call from his manager to discuss where we go from there and no surprise, I never received a call. At this point, I have retained services from Expert Glass. They came out within 24 hours and had my window replaced in 20 minutes, not to mention they were about $40 cheaper than Safelite. They were kind and knowledgeable in their craft. I have been back in fourth with Safelite reps trying to obtain a refund for the window I never received and have yet to get any answers. I call the Conley Rd location and no one ever answers. I've called the corporate customer service number THREE times now and each time, have been told my refund request has "been escalated" and that a manager would be calling me back. Also, not surprising that this hasn't happened yet. What a joke. If you need window replacement, DO NOT GO THROUGH SAFELITE!!

When I returned the technician was very attentive and made sure he understood my concerns and explained all options available. He then corrected all issues and when he was finished, it sounded wonderful. I was in and out in an hour. The technician was extremely knowledgeable, considerate and interested with my satisfaction. Last year my wife took her Audi to Sound performance and had them remove the existing window tent and new tent installed. It looked great and my wife was very happy. It may just be a fluke because there is a ton of great feedback about them out here but my experience was not what I expected and would not use them in the future.
