We stopped for a bathroom break and wondered around looking at stuff. Ended up seeing the restaurant area as we were looking around. Ordered coffee. Hubby ordered food. Delicious! Great prices for home cooked Mexican food!

    Cheese enchilada aka #50

Took forever to prepare my to go order. I ordered the #50, cheese enchiladas with two tacos and rice and beans. Customers had time to be seated, order and finish their meal while I waited. The food was greasy and bland. I went to the ladies room and there was piss everywhere. Pictured is the cheese enchiladas. .

$3 Ham n egg breakfast burrito and $3 carne asada quesadilla..

Tried this on our way through. The beans, salsa, and homemade tortillas were good. Not the cleanest place. Not in our repeat list.

Don't judge the did by the looks of the building. The menu has a lot of variety. The green salsa on enchiladas is great.

Super no frills Mexican food in the middle of nowhere. Kids loved their quesadillas and the enchiladas were great. Try the red Chile sauce.

Had 8 soft tacos carne asada. Absolutely amazing. I'm the biggest fan of taco trucks in California and I'd stop here every chance I get!

Amazingly good flautas for an incredibly reasonable price. (They have other dishes too, but that's…read morewhat they are known for!) Beans and rice on the side are optional / modest extra charge - they are usually very good and worth adding if you're hungry enough. My favorite sauce is the Chipotle. It's got heat as it's also creamy...I would call it medium (I like spicy food.) If you're getting them to go, you might want the sauce and toppings on the side. They usually ask about that, but occasionally they might forget. Service is usually friendly and efficient even when they are busy. Your food is made to order, so it's fast but not instantaneous. Allow 5-10 minutes for pickup most of the time. The dining room is medium-sized. I would say it's a place to eat and go, not stay and linger.

Stopped at El Taquito for breakfast during our move from WA to TX, and it was such a great choice…read more The staff was incredibly friendly, and the whole place had that warm, local-favorite vibe. We ordered the flautas with chipotle sauce and the chilaquiles with half red and half green sauce. The chilaquiles were absolutely amazing. We added a runny egg since we couldn't do chicken, and it gave the dish extra flavor and a good boost of protein. The flautas (which I'd honestly describe more as taquitos dorados) were crunchy and tasty. We liked the chipotle sauce that came with them, but we actually loved dipping them into the chilaquile sauce even more. Overall, it was a great spot to grab breakfast before hitting the road again for many more hours. Highly recommend!

Stopped here off I-10 looking for a meal. We ordered green enchiladas and chile rellenos (and asked…read morefor those to be covered in green sauce too). The food was fantastic--the green sauce is absolutely phenomenal! We asked the waitress how the sauce was made and she confessed that the cook won't share her recipe. Heck, I wouldn't either. It tastes like somebody's family recipe that they're keeping under lock and key. Also, we noted the refried beans were very good. They tasted fresh, not like they had been sitting in a pot for days. Don't be turned off by the appearance of Van Horn. It's a hard-scrabble looking town that must have seen better days. The restaurant itself is humble, but very clean, sharing a building with a laundromat. That being said, I appreciate small, locally owned businesses as opposed to chains. Broadway Cafe appears to have a lot of business from travelers as well as locals, and does a respectable amount of carry out and drive-thru orders. When I see locals eating somewhere (and they all seem to know each other), I know I've found a gem.

Nice little cafe…read more Enroute back from Big Bend to El Paso, you will most likely pass the unassuming town of Van Horn. If you're in a mood for a bite, be confident that the food and service at Broadway Cafe is pretty darn good. It's not a big space, but the cafe next to the Laundromat is clean and simple. I ordered the combination plate that came with a side taco (ground beef), choice if enchilada, rice, refried beans, and pork green chile. It was very good Liz enjoyed her enchilada plate - the enchiladas have a cheesy hatch flavor. Noah had a kids taco plate which as almost as big as my combination plate. Noemi had a bean and cheese burrito. The service was good and friendly. If you pass through VH, then consider Broadway Cafe.
