I pulled in - I knew they had pizza, and I was happy to support a local business. I parked, walked to the door, and tried to open it - but it was locked. "That sucks," I thought, "I guess she forgot to turn off the sign." I returned to my car. 2 doors down, I saw a woman exit the Lake Martin Pizza Co. holding a cardboard box. "Terrific! I can support another local business," I thought. I looked at the door and saw that on Wednesdays they're open until 9pm - great! Since it was only 8:22 pm, I wasn't coming in at the last minute! I walked in and was told by the smiling young lady at the counter "We closed at 8:00 - sorry!" On my way out, I looked at the hours on the door - yep - open till 9:00. So, I drove all the way out Hwy 49 to 280 and crossed it to the Subway at 17957 Highway 280 Ste C. I walked in, and I was greeted warmly by the person working the counter. He custom-made my sandwich, I paid a fair price, and I drove all the way back to Stillwaters. When I passed Store 34 and Lake Martin Pizza company, they both looked visibly closed from Hwy 49. It was 8:41 pm. So - among these three establishments, I recommend the Subway. They do what they promise. I like to support local businesses - but I also like a good meal after a long day.
