One time when on a time crunch and couldn't waste the travel time to get a piece of fabric, I called and described what I needed, and the shopkeeper sent me out the piece of felt. It was exactly the color I needed for a Life size Elf I was creating for The Christmasville Festival in South Carolina. Love this Shop!

It was the end of the day and they were scheduled to close five minutes before I came in, and I apologized for coming in so close to closing and then being drawn and distracted by the huge array of fabrics on offer. They said it was no issue at all, and I got signed up for their newsletter. I'm already now looking into what they offer for sewing classes because I have some projects I'm working on related to bookbinding and it would help me to learn/re-learn how to sew. I was pleasantly surprised to find a non corporate sewing shop near my house. The selection of…read morefabric was pretty wide if you're looking for cottons and the prices are fair. Obviously you can get a better deal at Joann's when you have coupons or they have a good sale going on but I like to support the little guys when I can. I also was pushed into asking about sergers by Dave who sometimes doesn't understand how stressful new places are and how exhausting socialization can be when you're an introvert. So I got a very long but informative look at the sergers they have to offer. I'm not sure that I'll be able to budget myself for their machines but I was impressed by how nice everyone was. I was also given a peek into the fall class offerings. I'll likely take a few of the weekend classes once winter comes and my weekends aren't so busy.
