We were visiting Beaufort and needed to pick up snacks, drinks, and a spare toothbrush and stumbled on the Beaufort General Store. It has a great selection of beer, wine, liquor, snacks, and sundries, and it's within walking distance of downtown Beaufort. Plus the owner is very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend checking out this spot instead of one of the major chain gas stations or convenience stores.

When I walked in I was greeted by one of the employees behind the counter, even though she was busy with a customer. It's small things like that, that make the difference between a good convenience store and a 5 star one. The entire store was so well clean and organized. The bathroom was way nicer than a bathroom needs to be. I really like that there isn't a door to the bathrooms. It's a "walk around the wall" design. The reason I like that is because touching a public bathroom doorknob is high on my "avoid at all cost" list. This convenience store is so nice, it's making me redefine what a 5 star convenience store should look like. All future convenience/gas stations will be compared to this one.

We usually have a decent experience here, but lately most of the fountain drinks have been out of…read moreorder. This has happened way too many times in the past six months. The only hot food items we enjoy on occasion are the chicken tenders, but they can be hit or miss. Freshly out of the fryer? Good chance they will be juicy, crunchy and fresh tasting. Sitting too long in the case? Expect a soggier crust and stringy chicken. Sometimes the tenders are over salted and other times under. Definitely prefer the latter. The prices here for a convenient store meal seem high. Not one breakfast item we ever sampled was worth more than one bite. Wish they could get a local vendor to supply fresh baked goods. Everything is prepackaged, over processed and filled with mystery additives and ingredients. The restrooms are usually very clean which is a big plus. Service can be extremely spotty, so I can understand the negative posts. With the newer self checkouts, it may be difficult to find someone to help. On one occasion I saw a staff member and asked if he could assist me. He said "I don't work the registers" and disappeared through the kitchen doors. Really? No "let me find someone to help." I haven't seen this gentleman in a while so I hope he no longer works there. Staff turn over does seem high, unlike the Port Royal location. Yes, this Parker's could do better.

Their gas prices used to be pretty good; it is where I would stop to fill up when driving into Beaufort. They have the tiny crunchy ice for fountain drinks. They basically have everything that you would expect a gas station to have and more. The gas station has gas and items in the store that is lower priced than the surrounding stores. Propane is filled by the pound which is about $12 to fill the average bbq grill propane talk. Around 5 to 6 AM every morning most local fishing boats come down here to fuel up.
