I met Hasmik who enthusiastically told me about her brother, Armen, and how he creates jewelry by giving customers a computerized image of their piece to review before he physically designs it. I wasn't looking for anything in particular at that time so I moved on, not expecting to return. Well, I am so glad that I stumbled in there! A few months later my fiancé proposed and gave me a very beautiful and unique engagement ring. The ring has a low setting and a twisted double shank, which made it very difficult to find a wedding band that looked good next to it. I was having a lot of trouble deciding the style of band I wanted with the ring, and when I say trouble, I mean I was paralyzed with indecision. I remembered that Armeny makes custom jewelry and thought they might help me figure out what looked best. I also was excited by the idea of seeing the wedding band on a computer screen before it was actually made (that way I wouldn't have to worry about my imagination matching reality). I went in to Armeny and had my first consult with Armen. We came up with 3 different possible styles for my wedding band. I was still having trouble making up my mind and went in for multiple consults. Armen didn't seem to mind my frequent visits, he was incredibly helpful and gave me feedback through the whole thing. One of the options (which I didn't do) would have involved making a double-sided band that sat flush to the curves of my engagement ring, with the diamonds slightly tilting outward so that it looked the most sparkly. Armen would have taken a mold of my engagement ring so that he could make a computerized image of my engagement ring to be 100% accurate in making the matching band. I ended up having him replicate a ring that my great grandmother wore, using her diamonds. (My engagement ring and wedding band do not match at all, but it looks like it is on purpose, and I actually like it that way). He still took the measurements of my engagement ring and then very carefully examined all of her diamonds and told me which ones were likely the originals, and which ones were poorer quality replacements. He made my new ring using all of her original diamonds and found 2 additional diamonds of the same quality to complete the near-eternity style band. Long story short, I love love love the wedding band he made! Throughout the entire experience Armen was VERY attentive to detail. During our consults he was very contemplative and thoughtful and it was clear to me that he wanted to make my ring as beautiful as possible. He is a true artist.

I showed him a picture of the designs of settings from a major catalog, and asked him if he could produce a setting exactly like the picture. He said no problem. The diamond was large, and I told him I wanted the designs on the sides to be the same ratio, to the center stone, as in the picture. Is that too hard to understand? He shrugged it off like, I was an idiot for asking that. He assured me I will get that ring, exactly, with the diamond I gave him. Don't ever trust this person to mount anything of value to you. When I got the ring, the side designs were 20% smaller than the dimensions of the center stone. He evidently, got someone to cast it, without telling them I wanted the proper dimensions of designs, relating to the size of the diamond. I wanted the same proportions as the picture. So I received a ring, that was NOT what I asked for. He didn't relay any information to the people that were casting the platinum ring!!! He led me to believe he had total control. He didn't cast it, all he did was mount it. He said he was sorry, and didn't even offer to fix it. I paid $1700 for a ring , I didn't ask for. I thought jewelers were smart enough to know what ratios, or proportions meant. But this guy, doesn't care, he just wants his money. While on vacation ~ some two weeks later ~ I received a text, "your bracelet is ready". After my vacation, on August 20 (two months and two days since drop-off) I returned to the store to pick it up. The repair had been performed, but the bracelet had not been shortened. Oops... Today September 29th ~ they texted again "your bracelet is ready" After a three month, and 11 day, long wait for a simple repair I picked up my bracelet. Oh yeah, the bill $107.00.
