Mondays in Mallorca have slim pickings - many restaurants (including the super nice vegan spots) are not open on Mondays. Fortunately - family-owned/operated Tierra de Gracia was open and young chef Mateo is super open to providing excellent vegan options. While my friends noshed on cheesy/meaty Venezuelan fusion dishes -- he provided me with awesome off-menu vegan options: yucca chips with fried potato wedges and a vegan arrabiata sauce, an excellent salad and an arepa with perfectly ripe avocado & tomato. The wine selections are excellent and customer service is warm, friendly and made me feel like I was part of the family.
The interior is elegant and modern, with some sophisticated collections of items in alcoves and a mix of gorgeous little tables with antique sewing machine bases and big farmhouse kitchen style wood tables. They've done a great job with this garden-level space -- it's a lot of concrete but the acoustics are fantastic. My group of 4 were able to have a conversation without shouting at each other over the noise of other folks as is typical in industrial/concrete spaces.
Super friendly and kind proprietors -- highly recommended. This is not your usual overpriced casual tourist spot - if you want a fine dining experience in Mallorca that is not pretentious, make sure to put Tierra de Gracia on the top of your list. read more
