We were seated and proceeded to order a ton of starters. One of the highlights were the oytsers which were dressed with shrimp, the pan con tomate, the burrata salad and the cochinillo main. Wow. That pork was divine, and we all agreed it was the star of the night. Our friendly server also recommended two different wines - a white from the area and a red. Both were great and perfect pairings with our meal. We ended with dessert which was torrejas and a homemade strawberry ice cream. I loved them both. We didn't reserve, but were seated at 8 without hesitation. Servers are quick on their toes and tend to diners efficiently. The Gambas al Ajillo (small shrimp) were made with a generous dose of olive oil and garlic and their bread, has an hearty chew to soak up that extra garlic+ saffron mix. Our seafood Paella was the high point made with a tinge of black ink that made the rice- which was thoroughly cooked through that more exciting to eat. Food is simple and honest. I get it; you're trying to avoid the hustle, but you're doing it by engaging in the hustle. Cruise ships bring out the worst in people on both sides. So it was quite the breath of fresh air to wander into this place slightly off the tourist track. We were walking by and one of my companions said "Hey, this place looks good, and it's all locals in here." Great seafood tapas and, of course, pimientos de padron. Good wine. Good prices. Good ambience. How can you go wrong? This place is the schizz. Just don't tell anybody.
