STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRACTICE Worst experience ever!!! Was…read moretreated for a filling. After procedure something was off. I went in to be evaluated and was told there was nothing wrong. Approximately 2 weeks later I was having intermittent pain. I called office to be seen was told can I come in Thursday at 2:00 My mistake I assumed it was that Thursday. I arrived at office and was told it was next Thursday so they wanted me to go for a week with tooth pain. I was then told that all he could do for me was an X-ray but I would not be treated. I left upset that this so called Dr. would not have compassion to treat his pt with pain. I called and asked for all further appointments be cancelled. I was then informed there was a 2:00 cancellation and he could see me. I refused the appointment and thank god I did before he could do further damage. I was seen by a compassionate dentist who informed me that the filling he did was too close to the crown. This was a Friday I was prescribed pain medication and treatment that day. Was told that the pin he put in for a broken tooth was not necessary. I found zero compassion zero empathy and unprofessional treatment in this practice. Front desk girl seem annoyed at me. The only nice thing I can say about this practice is the dental hygienist is phenomenal but it is not worth how the dentist treats you. I would advise to stay away from this doctor!

When you first meet Dr. Sachs he will likely be wearing his binocular loupes on his head in a…read morefashion reminiscent of night vision goggles. And that's our doctor. A one man Delta Force fighting the terrorism of tooth decay. Dr. Sachs is unquestionably the best dentist I have ever visited. Foremost, he possesses a deft skill when working in the mouth. I have had my jaw pried open by dentists that have the mitts of a prize fighter, but Dr. Sachs is gentle and precise. Discomfort is rare, and I can't remember the last time anything actually hurt. Every procedure Dr. Sachs performs is planned out before you are even asked to open wide. This planning enables him to work efficiently and with an economy of movement or delays, thus minimizing the patient's time in the chair. I appreciate that. Dr. Sachs seems to actually love his profession, and that has a side bonus for the patient. He keeps himself very up to date on innovations in procedures, instruments, and materials. He might be a bit of a gadget freak (most dentists are) but all for the sake of improving the process. Needless to say, his office is well equipped and modern, very open and very pleasant. My favorite instrument of his is the electronic syringe. Using the finest gauge hypodermic, he can numb your teeth with almost zero discomfort. When he does have to resort to the old school syringe, his skill is such that even metal monster poses minimal discomfort. The entire staff is friendly and professional. Kay, the dental hygienist, maintains a smile and a soothing voice while she gets to witness what I have eaten for dinner over the course of the past week. "What else besides fennel seed do you put in your steak rub?" Sue, the office manager, is extremely helpful with regards to navigating the byzantine world of health insurance and recommended to me a dental insurance plan that was most affordable. I wholeheartedly recommend the services of Dr. Sachs. P.S. I found Dr. Sachs because his office is on the main drag of Solomons. I figured I could make my appointments for Thursday afternoons and then reward myself with a well crafted beverage at the nearby Tiki Bar. That happened exactly one time. Once I noodled out how to make the beverage straw work through numb lips, the Mai-Tai just piddled out of the side of my mouth.

I had to cancel appointments repeatedly that I explained I would NEVER set because they were not on my regularly scheduled day off, and that I would never be able to show up for them. I ALWAYS tell the staff that I will call to make an appointment. Then I get surprise text messages saying that I have an appointment on a certain day, that I then have to call and cancel. They dismissed my son for missed appointments, that they themselves scheduled!!!!!! Ridiculous.

We knew going in that my daughter was no longer covered by the state dental insurance but based on several other dental visits in the area we thought her out of pocket cost for a cleaning would be roughly $120-150. Without x-rays and only a cleaning and a flouride treatment the receptionist told us it would be $274. I asked her to explain how their service would be so much more than other providers and she said that was the price they charge. I pointed out a brochure for an insurance plan they have on display that costs less than what they are charging and she repeated that $274 was their charge for today. I asked to see the office manager who parroted the same thing as the receptionist and I additionally pointed out that most businesses will try to work with clients that pay out of pocket because the business has to pay for medical billing and then have to wait weeks to months before they get paid. Still didn't move the needle. We'd been going to Smile Castle for years and there was no attempt to work with us. I won't be going back and I think they fail to realize how insulting it is to nearly double the cost of other dental services in the area.

I couldn't have been more pleased with what I discovered. Dr. Mohomed and staff were extrordinarily welcoming and accommodating. They treated my mother like she was their own. Unfortunately, before the final dentures were complete, COVID happened. In addition, my mother fell and shattered her femur, ending up in a nursing home/rehab and unable to travel to the dentist for the fitting. In one of the most selfless and compassionate acts I have seen of a medical professional, Dr. Mohomed drove to my mother's nursing home after hours to fit her dentures in her bed. She then returned to her practice to make a final adjustment before taking them back to my mother -- again personally. What a relief to my mother -- Dr. Mohomed's selfless act relieved some of the strain of my mother's difficult recovery by allowing her to eat normally again. Witnessing Dr. Mohomed's skill and compassion convinced me to switch dentists as well. I have been a patient of GGDC for years since. I will also add from personal experience that in addition to being an amazing human being, Dr. Mohomed is skilled in performing complex dental procedures. Further, her hygenist is THE most thorough in my 60+ years of dental care. Her work is simply meticulous, and never rushed! Lastly, I must also complement the support staff as well -- they are all kind, knowledgable and run a tight ship...with compassion.

Then as I walk in the receptionist tells me that I can no longer get my crown I paid for unless another $790 dollars was paid that same day. He said that he thought I had a dentist plan with them and he gave me 20% off. Which is a total lie because when I got my root canal and temporary crown put on I was there with my family he hands me the dental plan paperwork and mind you I'm still on clonidine 2 pills and IV sedation he gave me I needed a driver which I had and said make sure Sabrina signs up for our dentist plan so he knew I didn't have one and then wants to charge me extra and refuse to put my crown on I will make sure I tell friends and family I ended up paying the $790.00 on my CareCredit card and I will NEVER return there EVER again.

This whole experience with the exception of the dental assistant was unprofessional and horrible.
