Went to this place and asked for the $21 wash. The young man asked me if I wanted unlimited washes for the next 30 days for the same price, $21. I asked what the catch was, and was told there is no catch. Then I asked what happens at the end of the 30 days, he said, "Nothing, it just goes away". I said, "As long as there's no catch, I'll do it."
When I got home I saw I had an email from Tidal Wave, asking me to complete my profile. After I was finished, it said I'd be charged $39 on the 28th of every month. So, the guy basically lied to my face when I asked him what the catch was. If this is the type of bait and switch tactics Tidal Wave encourages their employees to take part in, no thanks. For the love of God, all I wanted was a frigging car wash; but no, they just had to go down the road of sleazy sales practices. It's absolutely ridiculous.
After I found out about the monthly charge I washed my car like 10 times...I figure I was going to milk it as much as I could. On June 26, two days before my card was set to be charged, I canceled everything.
I received an acknowledgement email, saying I would NOT be charged. Low and behold, a few days ago they charged my card. I called the number in the acknowledgment email, and they said they have no record of me canceling the plan, and said that I would have to send them the email showing I canceled.
WHAT A LOAD OF BS. This place is dishonest, they engage in deceitful bait-and-switch tactics, they illegally charged my card even though I canceled my plan and they said I wouldn't be charged, and then they want ME to prove that I canceled (even though they acknowledged that I did). Now I guess I have to go to my credit card company and file a dispute. What a shady, dishonest company.
