tl;dr: 5 stars for service and responsiveness, 3 stars as I lost my case. Got a red light ticket in Culver City: right turn on red, did not come to complete stop, light turned from yellow to red .41 seconds before I crossed the threshold, per the city's claim. Ticket was $500. Ticket Ninja said I had a good chance to win so I went forward. They sent me lots of info about how to handle the case and were responsive the whole way. I felt confident, but ultimately lost the written trial by declaration. TN has a guarantee, but to get it you have to continue the process to a new trial which I didn't mind doing. I went to trial de novo. To do this you have to go to court and schedule a date. TN sent me a lot of info before the court date with how things would go which gave me confidence. On my court date, I didn't have a cop going against me, it was just the goons from Culver City admin. They tried to pressure me into guilty plea ("to get traffic school for sure instead of risking it") but I held my ground thanks to the info TN gave me. I went to trial before the judge, who warned us that now that we chose to go to trial that traffic school is up to his discretion. After CC goons presented evidence, I read out loud the statement TN gave me. Unfortunately the judge ruled against me -- the argument was that you can't prove its me because the pic is grainy and sunglasses, but the judge just said "I think that's you, guilty." Then he offered me traffic school which I accepted. I got my memo from the court, sent it to TN, and got my refund within a week or two. Ultimately I didn't lose anything using TN but did learn a lot about the traffic court process. I give a 3/5 since I lost my case, but I still believe I received very good service from them and would consider using them in the future. Fun fact: My traffic judge was James Hahn, former mayor of LA. I heard he is kind of a hardass on traffic tickets so I guess that's just my luck. read more

The positive is that they are responsive. The negative? Their yelp page claims that it's fully refundable if you don't win, but if you dig into the paperwork that they have you sign it's actually only refundable if you lose in court as or the amount it's decreased by is less than the $99 fee they charge. They will only refund the difference. The concern there is you may get the ability to go to traffic school revoked. $99 ticket ninja fee $10 certified mail or drop it off They claimed a 75% success rate. I lost. They said they would prepare you for court, but it's really loose advice and more DIY. So now I'm out an extra $110 and my choices are: 1. Pay the $57 for traffic school and eat the $99 ninja and $10 usps fees on top of the $500 ticket OR 2. Go to court to fight it and roll the dice-- potentially still be out on all of the above AND lose the ability to take traffic school... Neither are great options. Ticket Ninja didn't work for me nor do I feel well prepared to go to court so I'll just be out the $650+.. read more

I got a $486 red light camera ticket for Rosecrans and Hindry. I was scared of going to court and I was unable to pay, so I went to TrafficNinja for help. In the end, I wasted time, money, and still had to go to court. If you choose to use the trial by declaration method, you have to prepay your bail, which is your full ticket amount up front. Then, you pay him $99 for him to prepare a statement for you. The argument he gave me, based on a California Transportation Traffic Manual, was flatly denied by the court because it was not applicable to the case. I went through with the next step, which is the Trial De Novo, where you have to show up in court to represent yourself. The thing about going to trial is if you lose, you have to pay the full ticket amount AND you can't go to traffic school, which means your insurance will go up. But if you lose, he will give you your money back. The problem is that the arguments he prepared for me were even more dubious than the first. When pressed for success rate and if they have been successful, he only says it's up to me if I want to risk it. Risk paying $486 and whatever my insurance skyrockets to? Um, no thank you, especially not after the first argument he sent was not legally defensible. I had to go to court to plead guilty in order to attend traffic school. If I had not pre-paid the ticket amount, the judge would have reduced my fine even more. So if you're short on money and time, just show up to court to plead your case and skip this $99 extra step.
