After about 15 minutes of work I was told the condenser had to be replaced due to mice chewing the electrical wires. I could understand this. Here is where the issue comes in. The technician first said it would be $3400 to replace. He then went to his truck and came back to tell my wife it would actually be $8,000, but they added a discount so I would Pay $6,000. The total cost of the whole install (condenser unit + 4 wall units) was 12,000. So just to replace the condenser is over half the cost of the initial install. I called to complain and spoke with the service manager. The service manager essentially explained to me that this was accurate because if they did the install today it would be 23,000. So they evidently had a 100% price increase. I then explained the invoice showed the unit itself as 2,000 and then labor as 6,000. He explained to me that was untrue, that due to the new invoice system they have, they can just put numbers anywhere essentially, so I should ignore the invoice. I explained my frustration and how that does not make any sense and I am not paying 6,000 for a condenser and labor. He said he understood and would escalate it higher and I would get a call later that day or the next. It's going on 3 days now and I have not heard back. This company went from one of my top rated to near highway robbery. I cannot reccomend them to anyone at this point, and will need to look into alternatives to get my heat back in the winter.

Onofreo's maintenance man immediately did everything necessary to stop the leak, as well as found and repaired the problem. Even though they are more expensive than other companies I've had in the past when it comes to things like this, they can't be beat. It's a high pitched squeal. We've had Onofreo out maybe 10 times and each technician has had a different diagnosis and /or solution. Sometimes they contradict one another entirely. Onofreo just keeps coming back, making tweaks, reversing and re-reversing solutions. My only assumption is that the system has faulty parts or was installed incorrectly. It's been terrible and the ordeal has lasted for 8 months now after installation.

Mike was here with his employee right on time and installed our system within a few hours. He answered all my questions and even sat at the table and registered my unit for warranty for me. I have called him back to service my furnace and take a look at my oil tank because I thought it had a leak. He's always on time, always professional, great pricing and excellent service. The original oil furnace in this circa 1988 home failed inspection this year due to a cracked heat exchanger coil and the release of CO into the 1 zone forced air heating. We had Glen Noble and his team in to evaluate our entire HVAC system. They came up with/installed a cost effective & energy efficient solution using a propane fired Navien Combi wall mounted boiler feeding a new hydro air heat exchanger and a new Heil 5 Ton central AC unit, augmented by 2 Mitsubishi mini-split HVAC units to overcome the single zone ductwork in this 2 story mid-century modern home. The job included planting a 500 gal propane tank in the ground, removal of the original oil tank, oil furnace, oil hot water heater, heat exchanger & A/C unit.
